it could be overheating
make sure the fans and vents are not blocked, i have a fan on the bottom left of my (non mac, a Hp laptop) and a vent in the back, left corner. If i leave them blocked, then my computer gets too hot, and to prevent damage to itself, it turns itself off, thats what your computer could be doing |

Is your EFI and SMC firmware up to date? There have been recent issues with Macbooks turning off unexpectedly that was addressed through a firmware update.
