I don't know. I've never used a mac. But alot of people say they are great.
What type of computer you're going to get, is your choice.
Good luck!

Im a big Microsoft fan boy, but Macs are better as of now. If you want a new Windows computer, wait for Vista. Otherwise get a mac.

Microsoft. Plus, you can play more games on windows rather than Mac. Even though they both have upsides and downsides, Microsoft Windows [XP] would be best, IMO.

Thats not true. Macs, now run on Windows proccessers so they can do the EXACT same stuff as Windows. Like say you pick up a Sims2 game. No Mac version, but now it would work on a Mac computer, because it can play PC CD, and microsoft games.

Man if I get a Mac there is a slim (10%) chance of me regretting getting one.

If I get another windows computer there is a 45% chance of me regretting it...

Here are some of the basic specs for the comp that WAS MINE now my dad wants it.It's not thebest compter but here it is.

-Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 Update Rollup 2 with SP2
-AMD 64 Athlon 3500+ 2.19 Ghz
-1 GB RAM
-ATI Xpress 200 Inergrated graphics (128 mb shared memory) plus I hate inergrated
-250 GB HD (mostly the reason why my dad wants it)

But if I get a Mac what should I get? Should I get a MacBook,Mac mini,or an iMac?I'm only picking out of those 3.I need something cheapt but I also need something good too.

So far I'm thinking Mac mini since it's the cheapest thing there (NOT INCLUDING THE KEYBOARD MOUSE OR MONITOR) but still can run Toontown and sooner Mac OS X Leopard and boot camp to(hopefully) run Windows Vista on it.Also I can choose any monitor rather than stick with the same one with a iMac but still an iMac is pretty good.

What do you guys recommend if I get a Windows PC?

It all depends on what you are going to be using it for. If its just for games, get a windows. But if you will be working with designs and stuff, then choose a Mac. Although you can always get a MacBook, which can do both Windows and Mac OS. But it cant do Windows that good.

Well I'm not really going to use it for games that much and I'm not really going to be working on artowkr or designs or anythign like that.

Anyways I think i'm going to get a Mac because when Leopard comes out I'm going to regret getting a PC since I'll have both a Mac and a PC.Anyways I can't go wrong with a Macbook (I wish my parents could afford me a MacBook Pro since now they have intel core 2 processors lol).

Actually current testing has shown that with boot camp Macs run Windows better than Windows.

And yes...you can now do everything with a Mac that you can do on a PC with all of the bnefits of Mac. Plus Macs are much more user friendly interms of managing problems and csto0mizing it to fit your usage. and lets not forget the aesthetic value...Macs are much prettier. They are faster allaround and have much fewer problems in regards to hardware issues. Uninstalling programs is a breeze as you don't have all sorts of small fiules that remain on your cmputer after an uninstall. You don't have this super secret registry thing that clogs up everything you do. No hidden files on Macs. Searching ofr files is 3 times as fast on Macs than on PC, plus integration with the web os much faster and more user firnedly.

There is certainly a saying that once you go Mac you don't go back. It is my experience that those who do not reccommend Mac have never used one extensively. Yet most everyone who uses Mac has used PC and switched because they were tired of all of the hassles presented by Windows. Don't take the biased word of someone who has rarely used Mac, if they have used it at all. instead you should listen to the millions of previous Windows users who are now switching to Mac.

And on that last note...think to yourself...If Windows is sooooooo great, then why do we not hear of people giving up their Macs to get a PC? I mean we certainly hear of many many people who are giving up their PCs to get a MAC, but not hte other way around. If PC was as good as people who have never used Mac say it is then Mac would not be growing as fast as it is.

As far as which Mac to buy, make sure you get an Intel based Mac. If you are a basic computer user...that is you don't have any need for professional grade programs, then a Mac Mini would be your best bet, or an iMac. the Price of the Mac Mini makes it a very affordable option. I got one for my 6-year old and he won't get off of it. the iMac is a bit more expensive.

The MacBook Pro is the best laptop you can buy now, but it is a bit pricey. I paid $2300 for mine two months ago.

The Mac Mini, is about the size of 3 or 4 CD cases stacked on top of eachother.

It's seriously THAT SMALL! My friend has one, and it's so small!

It actully holds more power then most Windows PCs do.

OK cool thanks because I saw some Vista screenshots about 5 minutes ago and read about the stuff yu need for a Premium ready PC but all the stuff you said is right.I can find things easy at school on their Macs with the "Finder"..At school we have iMacs G3, eMacs G4,and PowerMacs G5.Also Macs do look cooler (not trying to start something) but now I'm thinking should I get a Mac Mini or an iMac.

If I get an iMac I'll get an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and an all in one space saving design (like previous iMacs which makes them special) which is important to me to save space.A Mac mini has an Intel Core duo which is pretty good and I can place it anywhere which is nice and I wont have to stick with the same monitor all the time.

Heres the other problem. If I get a Mac mini I'll have to buy "Mighty Mouse" and a regular mac Keyboard which will be at least 680$ (or around there) plus a 19 inch flat panel monitor that I want would bring it up to 950$

Money here is an important thing here too.So far I'm thinking Mac mini.

The last time I bought a mac it was a long time ago and it was an iBook G3 (bondi blue)It was one of the best computers at that time when I was much younger.

Windows Keyboards and Mouses, as long as they are USB based, will work on a Mac.
