Thumbs down Woah very laggy

whenever i play toontown on my mac i always lag alot and freeze alot, especially if i look up someones details(gags), tp to someone, or head through a tunnel to one of the hqs(especially cash hq). also today 3 times i timed out of the race and my tickets were refunded because the race didn't load in time - finally i decided to switch computers. i'm very surprised because my mac is generally a much faster computer than my pc, and the login process goes fast and the updates and stuff go really quick, but when i'm actually playing i freeze and lag so much, especially when i select speedchat phrases, or do the things i mentioned earlier. this is very disappointing, now i hardly ever play tt on my mac because i usually end up freezing and having to hold the power buton down to restart. i do't know if this is some bug,but i just expected tt on macs to be much better than this.

How much RAM do you have? You need twice as much for a Mac to play smoothly.

You need 256 MB for ToonTown to be able to play at all, and 512 MB for ToonTown to play well.

Buggy and slow here too

I'm running TT on an IMAC 512 mg and it is very slow and lags to me also. Additionally, my toon will be in the middle of a battle, and then my screen totally goes blank. On my other PC, the toon can't stop doing the dance. The only way out is to reboot. Other games work fine for me and I have no video issues on anything else.

If you have an Intel Mac and are using boot camp to run Windows XP or Vista on your Mac, You could install both the Mac and Windows versions on your mac.

Moast macs have a low end video card. Also OSX uses more system resources and powerpc cpu's are not that good for games.

But the latest macs will run toontown fine.

No lag problems here - but I have 2gig of RAM

I have absolutely no lag problems on my Mac. It sounds like you guys just need more memory. For modern Macs, I would consider 1 gig of RAM to be a minimum for decent performance.

In case you think that's out of line, Vista will also require a lot more RAM than XP. I consider 2 gigs to be the minimum for a nice experience there.

This is true. Low end INTEL iMacs, Macbooks (not pros), and Mac minis ALL have integrated (aka Bad) graphics cards.

The Intel macs also run Toontown much faster.
