What MAC key to use for INS during VP, etc?

Since there is no insert key on my MacBook Pro, I'm left to wonder - which key should I use to throw pies at the VP?

<sigh> Unable to throw evidence in Chief Justice battle

In the chief justice battle, the screen says to hit the delete key to throw evidence. That does not work on my MacBook Pro. I tried other keys as well, but had no luck throwing any evidence at all. I did submit a bug report.

I'd be interested if other Mac users are able to throw evidence.

Yes but I don't do it that way. I prefer the Insert key and I can't get it to work on my Mac. Mouse clicking is soooooo slow, which is a pain int he CJ especially.

OMG the is annoying!!!!

I have tried a VP and a CJ on my Macbook now and it is insanely difficult. First, there is no keyboard button that throws the pie/evidence. Thus I have to use the mouse which is much slower. I usually tap the Insert key rapidly and now using the mouse slows me down compeltely.

Also, on the Macbook there is only one CTRL key and it is on the other side fo the keyboard from the arrows, meaning I can't use one hand to both move my toon AND jump. plus if I want to jump while one hand is on the arrows and the other is on the mouse I have to either stop moving or stop throwing and quickly try to hit the CTRL key to avoid the Boss jumps. This is harder than it sounds as it takes a bit of accuracy.

Has anyone else fiured out how to do this?

Is there anything you can do with your mouse settings to make it less annoying until TT reveals the secret of pieing on a Mac?

You might be able to set, for example, your right mouse button to be a double-click - which is much better for mimicing the rapid hitting of insert! [But I have no idea what TT's iffy macro detection might make of that]

oh and it's definitely not the Help or Home keys? What about Fn+M? (as ridiculously clunky as that sounds)

I figured it out!!

On a Mac, the "delete" key is actually the same as the backspace key on a PC. There is no single keystroke on a Mac that corresponds to the "delete" key on a PC. So, whoever decided that Mac users should hit Delete in CJ & VP instead of Insert didn't understand that distinction.

But... there is a way to send the code for PC version of the delete key from your Mac! Its Fn-Delete. I have verified I can throw evidence with Fn-Delete. Its not the greatest key combination, but its better than using the mouse. Give it a try!

I'm lucky I have a Macintosh Desktop, as you only have to press one key on it: Delete. On a mac laptop, however, you have to do Fn+Delete, which my other computer is. If you just hold down the Fn key the whole time and rapidly hit the Delete key, it works as well. Hope this helps!

Ok, if we are using a Mac laptop we are supposed to hold down the fn key while rapidly clicking on the delete key to throw pies??? Here is a question: HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO THEN MOVE OUT TOON AROUND THE ROOM???? Need three hands.

I about fainted when I first went into battle the VP and found out I couldn't throw any pies. I was afraid the other toons were going to get REALLY mad at me for not helping.

I am using an iBook G4, with a trac pad and NO mouse, and since the control buttons to move my toon are on the right hand side, I would like the engineers at toontown to design one of the left hand buttons, such as tab or shift, to throw the pies and evidence.

You are finding that toontown for Mac lagging??? I'm finding it to be MUCH faster than my PC. But, I also have about 3x's the memory on my mac than I have on my PC.
