Post Issue 1: Trouble In Toontown?

====================
Issue 1: Trouble In Toontown?
====================

Prelude: Toontown, a hub for adilesson animations and cartoons alike. It has a history of pie-throwing and slapsticky fun, known throughout the tooniverse and beyond. That history has changed, the tables have turned and Toontown is in danger of a gloomy, doomsday. The toons won't get the last laff, unless a heroic resistance rises up to save the one place toons can call home, Toontown.

Issue 1: Trouble In Toontown?
It was a sunny day in Toontown, the sun had a 100-watt smile, the flowers were singing their care-free songs, the trolleys were full steam ahead, and the toons, along with the cogs, were laughing with glee.
Flippy, of Toontown Hall, along with the rest of the Toon Council staff had their file cabinets, mailboxes and hands all full with work. This was because the cog rate of Toontown had made a drastic turn downhill, leaving gags and jellybeans with a lower price. Also leaving the entire Toon Council staff with toontastic tons of cog spec reports, and gloom appearence reports. The council continued their exausting work when the entrance to the Toon Council bursted open.
"Golly gee! Flippy, of all of the council staff, you have done a swell job! Go outside and enjoy the silly scenery for the rest of the day!", said Mickey with glee.
Flippy performed the happy dance and walked over to the Toon Council grand door and said "I don't know how to thank you Mickey.".
"No need to. Its a wonderful day in Toontown. Only cogs do exausting fileing, and we don't wan't to act like cogs, do we? That is why I am giving the entire Toon Council staff the rest of the day off!", roared the mouseketeer.
The entire council performed the happy dance and rushed out the Toon Council building door in an excited mob. By that time, Flippy had already dassed of to Toon Estates.

Scene 2: Toon Estates

As Flippy walked full with glee, among the dirt paved path of Toon Estates, he took notice in the scenery and it's actors. The toons of Toon Estates were having fun'd'mental fun. Riding bikes, spectating clouds, having pool parties and teaching their doodles new tricks. Before Flippy could regain reality from the site of the punchline paradise, he crashed into a gate. Clearly, he had approached his estate entrance. He took out his key, and granted himself access to his happy home. Flippy walked over to his house and turned the doorknob. Fluffy, the doodle as there to greet Flippy with a series of happy licks, with the excitement that his owner had come home from work. Flippy petted Fluffy and continued into his house. Flippywalked over to his jellybean bank, to stock up on beans. He took out his jellybean jar, the bank took out a dust blower and poured jellybeans and an unsuspected 'prize' into his jar. Flippy heard a *clunk*, he looked down into his jellybean jar an shockingly looked at the gloomy site of gear, right in his jellybean jar. Flippy then put down his jar and banged on his bean bank, the dust blower popped out a large package, smacking into Flippy and proppeling him onto his house floor. Flippy got up and glimpsed at the upper left corner of the package, he read...

COG C.E.O.
Bossbot Business Facility
Bossbot HQ

Without an instants notice Flippy teared open the large package. Once all of the packaging was taken care of, he was looking down at a letter, a series of blueprints and a business tie. Flippy read the letter from the COG C.E.O., examined the blueprints that contained what Flippy had feared from the knowledge of the letter, and then looked at the business tie with furious anger.
"The tooniverse is in danger. I have no choice. I must go, for Toontown."
Flippy looked at his photograph of him when he received his first cupcake gag. The door to Flippy's house opened, and his footsteps followed. Flippy had just embarked on a new adventure, with the fate of Toontown and the tooniverse in it's hand. Flippy was the only toon in the entire tooniverse with the knowledge of it, that was about to change.

Scene 3: Cog-Control

The skys of Toontown Central were clear. The cogs had stopped flying into Toontown. The vast majority of Toontown speculated that they had finally vanquished the corporate business types for good. The truth was as clear as the skies, the cogs were up to no good. Thats was the only logical explanation, the cogs couldn't be gone for good, the toons hadn't even discovered Cashbot HQ! Mickey rounded up the famous band of plucky toons, The Toon Council, to spread this urgent message to the citizens of Toontown. They held an urgent event in Toontown Square. Mickey walked up to the podeum and spoke.
"Toons of the world! May I have your toony attention! As all of you have noticed the corporate business types, known as the cogs, have recently held back from flying into Toontown. Many of you say, that we have supposly vanquished the cogs for good, that is not the answer. Can't you toons see it, the cogs are up to something, business men like them don't give up without a fight. That is what has led me to make the conclusion for all toons to head out to the Cog HQ's and see what has caused this strange occurence. Your probably thinking that we only kno the location of Sellbot HQ. That is correct, that is why all toons will be given an upgraded cog radar, to track those meddleworks down! Toons of the world move out and unite!"
"You toons aren't going anywhere. Not until you meet our secret weapon!", beeped two Big Cheeses flying down from the sky, right above Mickey.
The bulky bossbots landed on both sides of Mickey Mouse.
One courageous toon roared, "We can take these guys! I mean, their only two cogs at level 12!"
The members of the Toon Council took out birthday cakes ready to throw, when something happened. *THUMP!* *THUMP!*, the ground of Toontown Central shook. A loud noise waved through the neighborhood, similar to the eary sound of nails screetching down a chalk board, but worse. The dreadful sounds stopped, and a new sound interupted, the sound of uncountable propellers, cog propellers. At that instant the skys of Toontown Central were stormed with uncountable cogs, from levels 1-12. Senior V.P.'s marched out of the street tunnels followed by troops of skele-cogs, all heading into the playground. Every single toon ran around in panic, luckily, some plucky toons drawed their gags at the heartless cogs. Mickey ran from the clutch of the Big Cheeses and ran for Loopy Lane, the entrance was clear. Mickey made his way to the tunnel, eagely about to pounce into the tunnel, when the tunnel was smashed into thousands of bite-size pieces! A large mechanical trashcan foot now stood where the tunnel used to be. Mickey looked up in furious fear, he gasped at the site of a mechanical monster. It was gargantuan, equipped with razor teeth, lugnut jaws, gear generated eyes, gloomy cog interior, cage capture system, a full arsenal of gloomy gadgets and weapons, trash-can feet AND many more gloomy features that would make any toon run around in circles like a bumbling idiot! The mechanical monster roared and began brining it's razor teeth down to Mickey's level.
"Courer in fear at the sight of the almighty, Lugnut Hound! The boss would just like to see you toons attempt to make it laugh. The thing took a fortune to put together, so its guarenteed to make you gloomy or our money back!", loudly beeped the cogs flying overhead.
"Okay, no offense. But that last line sounded cornbally.", said Mickey.
The monster rouse down and grabbed Mickey by his yellow shoe, clutching the mouseketeer in its razor teeth. The monster ran havoc throughout the Toontown Central playground, stomping over all of Central's shopfronts, every toon it touched, turned into a business type, a cog. The monster marched over to Toontown Square where the council staff stood, the monster posed right above the Toon Council staff and a large metal cage, attachted to a metal chain reel, dropped out from its lower underbelly. The Toon Council was now trapped in a large metal prison, the monster reeled the cage back into its body, taking the toons of the council into a menchanical nightmare. The Lugnut Hound then gulped Mickey, with gloomy satisfaction -- the mouse was on his was to the same mechanical nightmare the council staff was already experiencing. The monster then stomped off into the Toontown Central neighborhood, to reek havoc among it. The skys of Toontown were now shades of gray. Toontown Central was underseige by corporate croneys. The citizens of Toontown Central needed a plucky band of toons, toons they could call heroes. TO BE CONTINUED...

Mission Breifing

Calling all old-school Toons! We're shaking things up a bit with a new way to earn your toon-fu experience!
This week's mission is called Cog-Control! Toontown Central is under attack by those grumpy business types, the cogs. To make matters worse, the cogs have just released their top-secret weapon, The Lugnut Hound, to reek havoc across Toontown Central! Since this is the greeting spot for the new Toons in town, the neighborhood is defenseless! Drop by Toontown Central and do your part by selecting and completeing as many apprentice tasks as you can and try to discover more on this Lugnut Hound, maybe the cogs will tell us something. Apprentice tasks require you to assist the new Toons in battle and building restoration -- they can't defeat the Cogs without you!
To get your toon-fu experience points and your jellybeans aplenty, select and complete as many apprentice tasks you can. All of the apprentice tasks must be completed in Toontown Central, to help defend against the cog invasion! When you complete an apprentice task, press the end key on your keyboard to bring up your apprentice task scrolls. Then, press the F9 key to take a picture. Find that picture in your computer files and attach it to your post in the 'Comic Catastrophe!' thread, remember to post as mant pictures as you can, multiple posts are acceptable. The magic will work from there.
The more Toons you help, the more toon-fu experience points you get -- it's that simple! As your toon receives more toon-fu experience it will level up. When your toon gains a level it can either learn new toon-fu moves, secret abilities, or unlock bonus material AND you'll feel warm and fuzzy for doing all those good deeds --what could be better? So get out there and show the new Toons how it's done!
