Post Just a reminder about reporting runs.

I just wanted to remind everyone about the importance of us reporting all our runs. Here are some tips on doing so (if you want to hear it from me )
  • If you play Toontown in windowed mode, you can start the report on the CCG website during the run.
  • You should at least get the report where it's needed, the CCG website, if you want you can copy the info form that report onto the appropriate thread.
  • If you play in full screen, you can take a couple pictures and if you have the concentration skills, write down their names and laff and all that other info.
  • If you can't concentrate on getting the info, just try using memory later, and any un-remembered info just say "Unknown toon" and see if anyone else knows it. Let them edit your report on the CCG website.

Just trying to help people get in reports, nothing serious.

~Squeaky

P.S. I'll add more things later, but I'm in a hurry.

P.S.S. Mods, feel free to move this in the general discussion when you think it's neccessary

I just wanted to mention that people should be cautious about using windowed mode in VP and CFO. It's fine for the cog part, but in the battle with the VP/CFO it can seriously reduce the frames per second on your PC. This appears as lag and makes the battle harder. There's software for ATI cards that shows framerate and there was a large drop in framrate on my PC's in windowed mode.

As Squeaky mentioned screenshots is a great way to get the info.

Easy reporting with screen shots

I don't use windowed mode and I use screen shots at specific times to catch all the info so I don't have to write notes during the fight.

Here's when I take my shots:
  1. I try to catch shots before the elevator doors close, if people are chatty I may take a few since I can't see their names when they chat.
  2. I catch another after the elevator view is switched, but before the doors open. Again I might take more than one if people are chatty so I can catch their names.
  3. In the cog round I try to catch a side shot during an attack to get the names for the group, and then a gag selection shot to catch laff.
  4. If circumstances allow, I try to click on others and catch a screen shot to get other peoples laff.
  5. I take a screen shot of every dancer at the end, lets me confirm names and suit level by checking out how much merits/bucks they need.

Then in most cases right after the run, I review the screen shots and write up my notes. Then I enter it at the CCG web site (after checking that it wasn't already reported) and then post to TTC right after or the next morning.

This usually works pretty well, and I don't miss anything by trying to write notes during the festivities!
