We were the last to laod. Cog battle was a good split we had a uber on each side. Our side was the last to finish I used a Prof. Pete to refill gags. Skele's were not so fair both ubers were put on the same side was not too long after we heard the sad sound. We tried to finish as fast as we could but we were looking at alot of lvl 12's. We did finally finish and Blossom and I went over to help with the remaining cogs. Vp battle was a tough one we had a hard time get the pie in the door. And he was very jumpy moving up the ramp fast. We did finally get him over the side. Great work by all. Sorry all 8 did not dance.

Big and Little Bubbles Bananaberry Reports that on:

7/7 Danced for CFO Run and a JB unite

Big Bubbles Bananaberry 117 RB50

+ Together in Cog Round

All the loads had gone in and I was a lone toon. I went out and several other toons came to the porch. I got my other toon on and called my son to help. We loaded with 7. Cog rounds went well. Very smoothly. I was running Little Bubbles and my son was running Big Bubbles (I was sitting next to him at home). Crazy and Big (my son) did awesome craning. The goons were gone as fast as we could stomp them. We won when the other side was being swarmed by red goons.
My only comment here is that it looked like one craning toon on the other side was INTENTIONALLY throwing safes at my son on Big. Now if it happens once, I say a mistake, but several times? He's an awesome craner and was able to work around all the safes, but it definately made it more difficult for him. I have no idea if it was an accident or not, but he said the first thing that toon did when they got on the crane was pick up a safe and throw it his way. And he said that there was NO WAY he was giving the safes back just to have it happen again. Lets play nice guys.

I was getting ready to report our victory and then I died.It stinked.Im sorry for the person that wasted a Prof. Pete on me.I think a lv12 hit everyone with a guilt trip and then a lv10 hit me with a smiley face.I dont know how SuperDog departed because I had the early flight to the playground.I knew I was going to die anyways since me and SuperDOg were in the same place and he doesn't have toonup."Oh, Well" "That stinks!" I have been mulling things over and decided I needed to make a few comments about this run. First, there was great teamwork during the pie fight. Skinny Zippity & Princess Kitty provided awesome stunning. Everyone worked well to keep each other tuned up, also.

Couple of things to discuss, though. First, this run took almost 50 minutes--very, very long. I missed the following CFO run it took so long. The cog and skele rounds combined took over 30 minutes alone. Why?? This is the second point. No CCG strategy on my side in either round. No lure left, kill right. Instead it was marbles & quicksand on level 12s, everyone picking their own cog to attack, and incredibly poor gag selections. I reached a point where I knew I had to use lure, but was scared to select it because I knew another player would bring out marbles on a 12. What's worse, is that despite pleas from others to "go for the same cog," other players did as they pleased and ignored the requests.

I have seen several posts in the past week or so about gag training during runs, and the presence of non or new CCG members who are unaware of our strategy. Add this post to that list. This run was a classic example of what everyone else has been talking about. I will step out on a limb here and be very honest: this was one of the most frustrating runs I have ever been on. Now, I do not expect to win everytime I load with the CCG. I do expect to have teamwork, and if needed, to provide leadership. There was no teamwork until the pie fight, and as my pleas for attacking the same cog went unheeded (along with the same pleas from other CCG regulars) my ability to lead was also missing. Also, the toons who insisted on following their own whims were new to me. There were several toons on this run who are CCG regulars that I am familiar with, and they stayed true to the strategy. We were the last load, so perhaps we did pick up some non-CCG players. Not sure what happened...

OK, I am done venting. I would like to end this on a positive note, so let me do that by congratulating Cool Rosie on promoting to Mr. Hollywood!! Way to go!!

SuperDog told me that "Oh gosh Blossom keeps saying go for the same cog!", Right then I told him "Dude that's the CCG stratagy".Then I guess he didn't read it or he ignored it.I wouldn't really worry anyways. You won so it's a thing of the past.Though it is a problem since they didn't do the lure left kill right straegy, but you still won.Is the strategy that important or were you just a little worried?

Fleabag,

Looking at the result's I see that you and Super Dog are 26 and 28Laff and at that laff using strategy and playing as a team is VERY important. The problems that Blossom described are not a thing of the past they are something that we are seeing more and more on runs lately. Toons doing their own thing and gag building and it can be very frustrating!

I think Blossom said it best right here...

We do not expect to win but we have come to expect everyone to work as a team and not work against what we are trying to do. If I wanted to see toons gag training or going off on their own I would do random runs. Not sure what is going on with all of the gag training lately but it is getting old quick!

I am also curious to hear just who went sad on this run and what lead up to it. I didn't see it in Funnyquaks results.

For my own play, YES, the strategy and, of course, - PLAYING AS A TEAM - is VERY important to me.

To be honest with you, and this isn't a personal flame on you, but folks that chime in with the idea of, "well you won anyway so what does it matter?" are most fruistrating to me and I'd rather not even play with toons with that attitude; because typically they don that "who cares" attitude in the way the play also; and often they play selfishly. Not saying you are that way (and not saying you aren't either). And *I DO CARE* and teamwork and TRYING to play together with thought of how to mesh in with the team.

It's fine to make mistakes, learn, have lag affect your choices, etc. Often you still dance even with such events impacting the play. But the "who cares" attitude is one of the most frustrating to me and I wish I could just avoid all such toons that carry it; no matter if we end up dancing or not.

My 2-cents...

Cheers,
Martek

Well, what I was talking about was in the cog round. In the skele round we did the lure left kill right method. The cog round was her problem.

A reply to the people that replied to me-Is it important with all high laffers though?

There were 3 loads today for the mid-day CFO run. A few minutes before time to go in it looked like there would be one run and a disappointed toon left behind, and I was sizing up if it should be me that didn't go. It was great to have so many toons show at the last minute to go, even if they missed out on the friendly welcomes and bantering with our speed chats on the waiting porch.

The craners were skilled, we sent him south before the red hats considered joining us on my side. I heard some goon light hits on the other side, so perhaps the cfo was afraid of the smell and sent all the available goons to the far side to visit those nice toons over there.

Congrats to Dog gonnit on your promotion to Money Bags. Nice to drop from 2100 bux to 420 to get ready by the next run.

Fleabag, its not for the benefit of the high laffers to use good strategy, high laffers could easily sound their way through an entire VP and come away unscathed. We high laffers follow CCG strategy for the benefit of the TEAM, mainly for toons such as yourself. We as a group would not be as successful if we didn't use a proven method to kill cogs. Sure it gets to be tedious sometimes, but as members, we are concerned not only for ourselves, but for the well being of our teammates.

I guarantee you that on your run, there was NOT one happy CCG member after the dance. Why? Because you and Superdog didn't dance with the TEAM. These type of victories are what we refer to as bittersweet wins. Although the team ended up winning, the win left a bitter taste in their mouths.

With that said, luck of the lure will ultimately decide a lower laff toons' fate. So there may be times where strategy is executed to perfection and toons will still fall if lure is not hitting. However, using good strategy can only aid in the well being of the entire group.

I hope that clarifies what you were asking about.

Wow what a fun vp! We had a little trouble on our side in skel, mostly due to the fact that there is no speedchat for "I'm going to use toon up". I said "I think you should choose lure" and then I said "I'll get this one". I meant I would toon (with a toon up sos) but I think they thought I meant I was luring because everybody tooned and nobody lured. Sorry about that guys - completely my fault due to how I chose my speedchats.

When we finished skel and ran over, Dippy and Audacious were both low in laff and both requesting toon up. Just so you both know, nobody was trying to be mean or anything about not tooning. Dippy and Cuckoo were the only ones that had toon up for a gag track and Cuckoo was completely out. Dippy then tooned Audacious but that left Dippy at 49 laff. Now some people can do just fine in pie fight at 49/69 laff, but not knowing Dippy, I chose to use a unite to get her back to full health.

Pie fight was fairly easy but with a few more jumps at the beginning than normal. All in all a great vp with excellent teamwork.

CONGRATS to Audacious on her first vp victory!
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! I've tried a few other times to take Audacious in VP only to have the first level 12 kill her, lol. I was sooo excited to get my first win.

This is my first uber toon and I think the hardest thing about it is not having tune up. I felt so bad that I couldn't give Dippy some laff points. (I really got to work on training my doodle!)

You guys were fantastic! I'm hoping to try again tonight! Woooot!

Perfect run guys! Sorry I am missing a few of their suit levels. but I believe there were only 3 of us holly's on this run. Teamwork was flawless. Practiced lure left and kill right on the cogs. I dont believe we needed to do even one TU on our side during the cog round.

Skele round had its moments, Its important to remember, try to get by with JUST the gags needed to take out cogs. Although overkill on gags can be ummm fun? lol It can also leave you short when you really really need it if gags should miss.

Try to conserve your biggest gags, play smart. In our case the other two toons with us during skele round added their fogs to ours last minute, the gags hit, but would have been a shame to waste 2 fogs on a miss.

Anywho... excellent team work during pie fight. VP musta been in a jump rope mood, because he started jumping immediately and never let up. Congrats to all.... 8 entered and 8 won!! wonderful job and excellent teamwork by all.
