Varmint Got Disconnected Twice in the VP Today

Sorry...

Got disconnected in the VP along with a real life friend who lives a couple of streets down. Once was in the skellie round and the second time was during the Pie Fight. I believe it was a net issue since we were using a different ISP and it was happening to my family members who were working in TEST. The only time we had a problem was went I was VPing......strange.

Made it thru the CFO and won a TOW 40TU earlier in the day.

Went back to the Playground to say (as best as you can using Speedchat) "Sorry" "Sorry had to unexceptedly leave" and to see if the team was able to pull out a win.... instead I got "U Stink" and "that wasn't nice".....hmmm

If I was trying to be mean and hurt the team why would I have saved your toon by using my newly won TOW 40TU when the skllie kept dodging goggles? Plus leaving Barnacle Bessie behind? Think about it.............

Anyone else experiencing problems last night?

Lot of small suits on this load, and I think the group was fully capable of making it through, but strategy fundamentals were not in place and it was a struggle. Thank you Master Bingo Cheezyboom for your help with a Unite phrase and helping guide the strategy! Not sure how things went on the other side for the skeles, but I think some missteps were definitely being made due to the speedchat. It was all small suits on the other side.

The pie fight was a struggle as well, I was trying to stun from the back, but the VP wasn't moving as much as I would like. I moved to the front to drive in time to toon up Hero just as he was tring to toon up someone who went sad. The jumps were definitely catching the newer guys. It got down to 4 of us and I focused on driving the VP down with some great stunning going on from behind.

A nice reward, but I wish we all could have danced for it. I also got my shiny new Two-Face suit as well!

Nice mix of suits and a breeze of a run. Sorry for some last minute mixed up gag selections on my part at the beginning of the cogs - my comp was being a little laggy (I think my virus database was updating).

Great run!

I noticed ALOT of sf chat on this run. Quite distracting. I'm not sure but I would like to know how someone can throw pies and avoid damage from the VP all while typing? There has been numerous comments about an inordinate amount sf chat during the boss battles. Not sure why, but it seems peoples requests for a little less sf chatter are being ignored.
No way, I was SURE I saw Captain Preciousspinner stunning in the VP! I know he danced, anyway! I saw it! :-/

Lure seems to miss a lot now a days, so to get a group of big size cogs lured is a feat but to have them knocked back with some small sound. Yikes! I think it was a mistake on one of the toons part but trying to pull it back together was hard due to the secret friend chat going on, couldn't tell who was trying to toon or lure or what. Anyway we made it through and were off to throw pies ... that went real smooth and we all got to get our groove on!

Lets go ...Bring it on!
I wouldn't say that it was so smooth because I had some trouble when I was hit by his jumps and I was at 6lps and almost died. Thanks to all the toons that helped me I didn't.Other than that hardly anybody else lost any laff exept for Jessica who had wanted to get close to gum his works and I tooned her up.Thanks to all that were there.

Ha Ha...Can I have some of what you're having? Trust me, he didn't make it through the skele round. I was on that side. Oh, and one more thing here, disconnects are not counted in the total. If someone disconnects or leaves mid-battle...between battles or anywhere but at the end of the battle where they probably left to preserve merits...they are not counted. The total amount of toons going in is reduced by the amount of disconnects you have.
So the report should read: 6/7 Toons danced for Sid Sonata.

...Ratsoschmatso is correct Prof. Raven McSwirl.....Captain Presciousspinner is my son's toon and he went sad during the skele round. Also....there was one toon who left at the start of the cog battle as was indicated. THANKS Ratsoschmatso...

I am so sorry your son didn't make it through! He did an awesome job anyway though. He seemed a bit unsure of what cog to go for a couple of times(which is common for toons new to vp), but all in all did a bang up job! I was with him both cog and skel rounds. He really deserved to be there to dance. I hope he isn't discouraged and will try again.

Thanks...I think sometimes he'd do better if I wasn't there trying to "coach" him on what to do. Actually he's now feeling a little smug as his first VP was not with the CCG but one he did totally on his own and was successful. He did like the CCG run as he didn't have to go through the elevator shuffle. He really is an awesome kid and handled his toon going sad VERY well and is ready to go again!! I'm going to start taking lessons from him on to play...

Maybe NGD can fill in who was at the dance.
Rats sorry DM, I was so tired I wasn't paying attention to the dance. My sound was awful since I didn't have time to reboot, after doing lots of CFO's the last two days I couldn't even hear the VP jump, and surely didn't hear sad sounds. I know most of that group had a awful time with the Jumps, and boy was he jumpy!
I do have to agree, this wasn't an ordinary CCG stagedy. I'm thinking along the lines that lots have seen CCG posts and like what they see and come on the runs. That's great if they read the guidelines and stradegy. I'm glad we had no ubers on that run, to much Toonup was needed, and not just due to missed lures!

Sorry to hear that happened to you Varmit. Do you know if the unwarranted comments were from CCG members? Seems to me that CCG members would understand when something unfortunate like that happens. For anyone to assume the worst of a good CCG member like yourself is wrong!

I hope your network issues are resolved soon so you can return to VP without the troubles you were having last night.

Not sure I've had the pleasure of battling with you yet, but from reading the posts in the daily threads, you sure seem like you ROCK as opposed to stink.

I am so happy that I figured out how to grab a few screen shots from the old pc and better than that I finally figured out how to actually look at them. The little challenges and frustrations of my computer-challenged brain are never ending. I pressed through because I really, really wanted to report this run.

Permit me to add my two cents, (are we up to a buck yet?) to the previous comments on other runs. This run would have been much smoother, safer, a breeze even, if the toons had all read the strategy guide before coming. However since we were on the run already, it was a lil late, but the same results would have happened if all the speed chat that we took the time to use had been read. I don't say "let's all go for the same cog" because I don't think we have enough gags to drop 3 cogs. I say it because we have toons standing there without sufficient laff to take the 3/4 hits coming (half dead cogs hit back, lure doesn't hold forever, new cogs will be coming out, YIKES) Toons on this group chose to endanger rather than tune up fellow toons. We ended both the cog round and skel round with toons that were not full laff.

Elevator loading is also listed in the CCG guide. Get on and stay on please. Toons who are on the platform are "ready to load" and should not be spectators. When this load got down close on the clock, I ran from the lower stairs past many toons "watching" and "spectating" to fill the final spot. It seemed that there were 5-9 toons willing to let a load leave with 7 short suits on board. My preference would have been to board the next elevator with the new-comer friend I'd invited to come to a CCG run for her first time...but she had read the guidelines and understood when I said I have to go. It really helped standing on the stairs next to Bubbles who said, "me or you?" She was in safe sf hands with Bubbles on the next elevator, and she had a nice time and says she'll come again.

We spent a lot of our pie battle on tuning toons because he was very very jumpy with many phantom jumps and gear hits. If a tune up is needed, it's helpful say so with speed chat and to stand still, or jump straight up and down so the uneven height of the toon tuning and being tooned is compensated for. I spent a lot of time chasing toons all over and asking them to jump so my pies could hit them. Sorry to those who went sad, we did try to keep you there. I got down to 15 and decided it was time I spoke up and I backed up to a toon for a tune-up, and then a stun jump made it 5, and a gear hit brought it to 2 or 3....thanks Dippy McSmirk, you saved me from the sad sound! You are my hero.

Congrats to Blue Mcdad on your first vp. It's always exciting to have a Cold Caller 1 on the elevator. Congrats to Chunky Kookycrunch for graduating out of your NH and into your new Glad Hander suit.

This was a challenging run with all the small suits on board. I filled the last spot, I thought, and it looked like Doctor Von Loopenpounce was on board, but when we got off the elevator, there were only 7. Luckily, both times I was with the group of 3. We had good teamwork for the cog round. I restocked gags in between the rounds with an all gag restock to help with the skelcogs. For the next round, we did ok. My only comment is that one of the toons wanted to use his little red magnet on the level 12s. If you have someone with better lure, please let them use it. Working lure in VP IS NOT a good idea. I find that using 2 lures (i.e red magnet and goggles) tends to make the lure miss more. The VP was a bit jumpy at this run.. I am so sorry that Aunt Batty went sad. I had no idea she was so low. I had been in the back and had just moved tothe front when she soon went sad. Remember to let others know when you are getting low.. A simple.."I need a toon-up" will get others to help you. Good stunning and pushing.

Very good team work on my side. The other side finished their cogs right after us. Good craning and stomping. The red goons were just starting to get a bit heavy when we got a good hit and sent him to his train.

Sounds like you had fun. I'm Doctor Von Loopenpounce and I remember that. I discoed twice trying to get into the VP. But I eventually did.

Speaking on behalf for Vegas since he is not a member of the CCG or the message board. I talked to him, and he explains that there was alot of elevator shuffle, and the beginning of the battle was not good, and he assumed that this was not even a CCG run, but a random because of the events leading up to his leaving.
These runs are not smooth at all lately and don't have the CCG feeling to it, or even a significant amount of recognizable CCGers showing up at the runs. I was there in the pit last night with Some Duck, and I hung back till towards the end. I went inside and saw it was chaotic in there, and the scene was scarier then a random VP scene. I didn't have a chance to actually do the VP, but I was an onlooker to give my 2 cents.
However I'm just hoping things can get under control again soon. I will continue to do my runs with the CCG regardless, but I am hoping there will be a solution to this. Especially the elevator hopping, that is just a huge disappointment in the beginning of a run. Maybe the schedule posted right here on the message board is a bad idea and getting way to many randoms who will not read the rules or strategies.
