Varmint Got Disconnected Twice in the VP Today
Sorry...Got disconnected in the VP along with a real life friend who lives a couple of streets down. Once was in the skellie round and the second time was during the Pie Fight. I believe it was a net issue since we were using a different ISP and it was happening to my family members who were working in TEST. The only time we had a problem was went I was VPing......strange. Made it thru the CFO and won a TOW 40TU earlier in the day. Went back to the Playground to say (as best as you can using Speedchat) "Sorry" "Sorry had to unexceptedly leave" and to see if the team was able to pull out a win.... instead I got "U Stink" and "that wasn't nice".....hmmm If I was trying to be mean and hurt the team why would I have saved your toon by using my newly won TOW 40TU when the skllie kept dodging goggles? Plus leaving Barnacle Bessie behind? Think about it............. Anyone else experiencing problems last night? |

I am so sorry your son didn't make it through! He did an awesome job anyway though. He seemed a bit unsure of what cog to go for a couple of times(which is common for toons new to vp), but all in all did a bang up job! I was with him both cog and skel rounds. He really deserved to be there to dance. I hope he isn't discouraged and will try again.

I do have to agree, this wasn't an ordinary CCG stagedy. I'm thinking along the lines that lots have seen CCG posts and like what they see and come on the runs. That's great if they read the guidelines and stradegy. I'm glad we had no ubers on that run, to much Toonup was needed, and not just due to missed lures!

Sorry to hear that happened to you Varmit. Do you know if the unwarranted comments were from CCG members? Seems to me that CCG members would understand when something unfortunate like that happens. For anyone to assume the worst of a good CCG member like yourself is wrong!
I hope your network issues are resolved soon so you can return to VP without the troubles you were having last night. Not sure I've had the pleasure of battling with you yet, but from reading the posts in the daily threads, you sure seem like you ROCK as opposed to stink. Quote:

Kippy Reports that on:
Nov. 23, 2005 Wednesday 8:00PM Central 6/8 Danced for Nancy Gas Super Nutty Flipperbocker 105 -- Sad in Pie Dippy McSmirk 69 Granny Fireball 91 +Ban Ann A. 54 -- Sad in Pie Fight *Chunky Kookycrunch 106 +*Cuckoo Toppenhoffer 60 +*Blue Mcdad 100 CC 1 +*Kippy 78 + Together in Cog Round * Together in Skele Round I am so happy that I figured out how to grab a few screen shots from the old pc and better than that I finally figured out how to actually look at them. The little challenges and frustrations of my computer-challenged brain are never ending. I pressed through because I really, really wanted to report this run. Permit me to add my two cents, (are we up to a buck yet?) to the previous comments on other runs. This run would have been much smoother, safer, a breeze even, if the toons had all read the strategy guide before coming. However since we were on the run already, it was a lil late, but the same results would have happened if all the speed chat that we took the time to use had been read. I don't say "let's all go for the same cog" because I don't think we have enough gags to drop 3 cogs. I say it because we have toons standing there without sufficient laff to take the 3/4 hits coming (half dead cogs hit back, lure doesn't hold forever, new cogs will be coming out, YIKES) Toons on this group chose to endanger rather than tune up fellow toons. We ended both the cog round and skel round with toons that were not full laff. Elevator loading is also listed in the CCG guide. Get on and stay on please. Toons who are on the platform are "ready to load" and should not be spectators. When this load got down close on the clock, I ran from the lower stairs past many toons "watching" and "spectating" to fill the final spot. It seemed that there were 5-9 toons willing to let a load leave with 7 short suits on board. My preference would have been to board the next elevator with the new-comer friend I'd invited to come to a CCG run for her first time...but she had read the guidelines and understood when I said I have to go. It really helped standing on the stairs next to Bubbles who said, "me or you?" She was in safe sf hands with Bubbles on the next elevator, and she had a nice time and says she'll come again. We spent a lot of our pie battle on tuning toons because he was very very jumpy with many phantom jumps and gear hits. If a tune up is needed, it's helpful say so with speed chat and to stand still, or jump straight up and down so the uneven height of the toon tuning and being tooned is compensated for. I spent a lot of time chasing toons all over and asking them to jump so my pies could hit them. Sorry to those who went sad, we did try to keep you there. I got down to 15 and decided it was time I spoke up and I backed up to a toon for a tune-up, and then a stun jump made it 5, and a gear hit brought it to 2 or 3....thanks Dippy McSmirk, you saved me from the sad sound! You are my hero. Congrats to Blue Mcdad on your first vp. It's always exciting to have a Cold Caller 1 on the elevator. Congrats to Chunky Kookycrunch for graduating out of your NH and into your new Glad Hander suit.

These runs are not smooth at all lately and don't have the CCG feeling to it, or even a significant amount of recognizable CCGers showing up at the runs. I was there in the pit last night with Some Duck, and I hung back till towards the end. I went inside and saw it was chaotic in there, and the scene was scarier then a random VP scene. I didn't have a chance to actually do the VP, but I was an onlooker to give my 2 cents. However I'm just hoping things can get under control again soon. I will continue to do my runs with the CCG regardless, but I am hoping there will be a solution to this. Especially the elevator hopping, that is just a huge disappointment in the beginning of a run. Maybe the schedule posted right here on the message board is a bad idea and getting way to many randoms who will not read the rules or strategies. |
