I support this
DM,
I like the proposal since it is a move to simplicity. 2 items I'd like to see continue: 1- Beanfest on Tues that Ubers originally sponsored (perhaps not directly tied to CCG, but many CCG's benefit especially when 1st starting out so they can buy gags, doodle upgrades etc... 2- Training runs/accomodations for special events (perhaps we look at weekends or time between the 3 runs/day spaced 2 hrs apart. Two questions - Are we experiencing large turn outs / volume that justifies 3 runs/day? - Are we planning to take into account the new districts Thanks for taking the initiative to gather feedback Rgds- LST |

My position has always been that spreading the CCG thinner isn't a good choice, however history seems to have proven me wrong so far as run attendance...
However, you'll note that until you're maxxed there is rarely a toon who can make more than 1 run a day in the HW/RB catagories. It certainly reduces the percent of runs multiple "leaders" or at least "tall toons" can show up for.... Whatever the guild decides, but that's my 2 shekels

I like the new schedule. I think, from the amount of toons attending the current runs, there should not be a problem for 8 additional runs and it might take a little the load off some runs. We have seen that crowded runs ususally are more likely to have some shuffle.

Here's what I like about the proposed schedule:
The times are the same throughout the week. No more looking up the schedule every day to see if there's a six o'clock 'flight'. For us Westerners there's a 6:00 run EVERY day of the week! I love that! I hear what Rattlebones is saying but in the early levels of VP and CFO you can easily knock off those merits/bux in a couple hours and be back for another round. Also if you were a saduality at the six o'clock run you can get right back in the saddle for the eight o'clock run. One other thing I've noticed is that the older (and wiser?) players have a stable of toons some of which are almost always ready to run. So a player now can run one toon through at 6pm and bring out a fresh toon for the 8pm run. My last thought, I promise, with this new generation of black kitties it won't be long before they'll all be ready to VP, kinda like the Baby Boomers of ToonTown. And then we may be glad we have the extra runs in place to accomodate all the new toons. GiGi |

I think this is worth trying. I would like to see some thoughts from the West Coast folks.
My thinking is this would help them get to more runs as they would have a 8pm every night of the week. It also gives the East Coast folks two early runs every night. With the thought that more West Coasters could make the last run I think there would be enough to support the three runs. As to everyone else it gives a great amount of runs if RL happens to come up and you are unable to make a run you still have two more to pick from.

Looks good to me
I'm on the West coast and this looks like a good schedule to me. It gives me more flexibility, especially on Tuesday & Thursday. I also like the added runs on the weekend.
Also, I agree with what Gigi said. Many players have more than one toon they can bring to a run; I am currently working my top two toons, so I can alternate between runs. We should give it a try & see how it works.

I am sort of with Rattlebones here, in my own mind, but it does sound like it would be easier for the West Coasters. Also it would give my kids a chance to run more often without me hogging the computer (Which I would NEVER do! I swear!
) Let's at least try it and see how it goes.I guess one thing that immediately sprung to mind was, what if my friends all go to a different one? I know we don't all get in the elevator together - but what about the fun in the pit? Well, I guess we'll have to work around that. Anyway I know the social aspect is not our primary purpose, or even a purpose at all, but it is important to me. But not insurmountable!

West coaster approval
Hi,
I'm on the west coast and the new proposed scheduled would be great for me as I'm rarely able to make a run before 7PM PT during the week. I say we give it a shot and see how the turn out is and go from there. Providing I'm home in time, I can have a toon for each run to fill in as necessary. However, I'd like to state that since the always ready toons are max in suit, I'd be happy to step aside and allow another promotable toon to go instead. So should you see Doggie Breath in VP or CFO, he will be there to fill the elevator as needed. Same goes for Ugly Duckling in the VP. If I'm on any of my daughter's toons, then its first come first served!

Let's try it...
The new schedule definitely helps some of our younger members on the east coast to get more shots at the big runs. It would be popular at my house.
But I would hate to see the success rate decrease in order to have more runs. Many people do have more than one big suited toon but unless they are level 50's eventually they will need big merits and/or bucks at the same time. There may also be folks who have a level 50 that they can bring out more often since there are more opportunities to run. I think all we can really do is speculate about the end results at this point. So my suggestion is to phase in the additional runs so that we don't stretch ourselves too thin all at once and end up creating disappointment and the retraction of runs. Could we have a phased approach like....add 4 runs, wait 2 weeks, if things are going great add 2 more, wait 2 weeks, if things are going great add the final 2. Is 2 weeks enough time to really evaluate the effect ? Is a phased approach too confusing ? |
