Enough with the bucks already

Wasn't really sure where to put this, feel free to move it to the appropriate thread if desired. Just wanted to let Fur's friends know why you will probably be seeing less of him in the very near future.
Furball has decided to take a break from the CFO fighting for an undetermined period of time. He will be making only 1 more promo run for the time being to get his first/maybe only laff boost for RB. It has become too hard to find others to make the long runs with.
He has gotten tired of trying to make these long runs in populated districts with pickup toons, tired of the constant shuffling at the elevator in these populated districts, tired of being left in the mint alone when the others have completed their bucks, and tired of waiting 3 days to get the runs needed to go back to CFO.
So, if you don't see him around chq much that is the reason. He will be making only occasional appearances there for mint runs when invited.
That being said, he will be spending alot more time in sbhq trying to solo all those pesky merits. At least the merits can be done solo, unlike the bullion runs for cogbucks.
Annie on the other hand, will be spending more and more time in chq until she too encounters the problems that Fur has. The amount of bucks needed for the smaller suits are alot more digestable than the 8900 that Fur needs.

I'm really sad to hear that but understand entirely. I get Deputy Monty ready and try to go about 5 times a week with the CCG after the VP runs. The bucks are a pain. Doing them in a busy district is grrrr!!! STreSsFuLLLLL!!! to say the least. I'm not sure how many more runs I can do with strangers either.

Soon, we will have many members doing the big bucks. I wouldn't mind proposing a "buck" run time on a daily basis in our home district (Giggly POINT) for those who want to do 44 cog bullion runs. In the past, the merit gathering runs have been sparsly attended so I'm not sure how successful this venture would be but...perhaps it's worth a try. I can usually get free from 9-10:30ish every weekday morning. If there's enough interest...we can try it starting...well, whenever...maybe Tuesday, March 8.

However, I'm not going to hang around very long waiting on people to show up...I'll just head on over to the busy district and get what I can there. If you are interested...post here or pm me.

I understand your pain Ratso! Seems like bucks get harder to do everyday and with the added pain of bailers it is more than I can take at times. I had to take a break from the runs so that I could get Faye ready. I like the idea of doing runs in Giggly. Would it be possible for us to have evening runs?
I am usually on after 5 Est.

Well I'm willing to go on Bullion runs with you if we are on at the same time and you need someone to run with. I usually try to bother friends asking about this but I too am in the 8900 buck stage. I have stopped trying to go with strangers and currently still need HW 50 and I can do that pretty fast with my two accounts so I do that at times waiting for some friends to tell me they need more cog merits. Nothing better than a nice quiet district with 4 friends getting bucks. I can even set up a TP toon for us to get back to even faster with the 2nd account. If you're ever on and see me come on feel free to ask me what's up and we can try to get those buck together. I like doing the CCG runs at night but would sacrifice those for a couple of days to get some mint runs in and at least get to RB 20.

Let me know....I remember the one bullion run I did with you and that was great, took no time at all!!!

I remember that run...it was sweet and fast. It's rare...but there are times I've gone in with strangers and we sounded through a 44-cog mint in less than 20 minutes!

For fast runs there are a couple of important things to know/or have and agree on. (1) the mint map that tells you what's up ahead so you can (2) use the gags appropriately.

For the most part (depending on what order the rooms are in -- restocks are great but can't always be counted on being useful) I like to use only 1 foghorn on all groups of cogs that contain 10's. A row of 11's requires 2 foghorns and at least 1 aoogah and 1 elephant.

Ok, enough of the gag strategy, that's fodder for another thead. Most of the time, there isn't enough time BEFORE a run for me to gather many merits/bucks. I will certainly help anyone doing them though. A little time in the mornings...some in the early afternoon (have to pick up child from school at 3:00 p.m. CST) and late nights are my most available time slots. I'll start out in Giggly and see who else might be there.

One other thing that might help is an outside chat engine. I usually have MSN on...sometimes Yahoo...often Ventrilo. If you use any of those, feel free to contact me concerning any bucks/merits you are running.
