a little frustrating

I am in SHQ right now and everyone is hopping on and off the elevator and it is driving me nuts, once the elevator closed, with at least one toon on it, what happend to once your on stay on? what is going on here, one toon even said, lets wait for my friend. Now this isnt the time to go with friends, of course its nice if you can, but this is rediculous, ok I vented, hope some of you who dont jump off the elevator can come on and help us.

Grrrr, I just went back to try and it is still the same thing, this time I got stuck on the elevator all alone, so of course I alt F4'd, I give up! This is the worst Cold Callers Guild behavior I have ever seen, I reconize several names in the lobby to be memebers too. What is going on?

Just making sure, but you do know that they are meeting in Nutty Hills now, right? If you're still going to Zippetyham, it could've been the problem. And keep in mind, that not ALL people in that district are going to be Cold Callers Guild members. There is always a potential for greifers and/or other people looking for a random group in a heavily/semi-heavily populated district. Are you sure they were CCG members? If they were, and there were some elevator hoppers/greifers there, they should know that if someone wants to hop on & off, that it shouldn't matter. A CCG member should hop on in his/her place when that toon jumps off right away.

did ally get on though?
i went in the lobby for a few minutes to see her off, and i thought she got in.
i was gonna join her, but had to rush myself to get merits. i was working for 4 hours straight to get 4500 merits in time. by 3pm, i was 800 merits away :\ i was really hoping to make it in time too.

Yes I was in Nutty Hills, I am not sure if Alley got on, but I tried one more time, and after a few more shuffles, we did go, and all 8 of us made it, so its good. I do reallize that they all may not be cold callers guild members, but like you said, the ones who are should stay on and someone should go in their place. I hope this doesnt happen again anytime soon. Good luck to the rest of the groups.

Yeah, I witnessed the same behavior... I got on with another toon once, and the elevator door closed on us...ended up hitting alt F4. I also wondered why all the shuffling was going on. However, it happened mostly when there were four or less toons on, which if I remember correctly, a toon can hop off if that is the case. I may be confused though. At one point a couple of toons were saying "I think this is too risky for you" to another toon. I tried telling them "Don't worry." I don't think it convinced them though. Finally got on with 8 and won though. I guess it must have been a couple unfamiliar with CCG procedures...maybe even unfamiliar with the CCG itself.

Wouldn't someone who goes to CCG runs read most posts in the Cold Callers Guild Forums? Because of Zippetyham now being a low-populated district I can't believe that anyone would show up there to do VP. She also has a Mr Hollywood 23 suit, Two-Face 9, and The Mingler 10 so it is hard to believe that she doesn't know that the new district is Nutty Hills. She said herself that they were CCG members. Those CCG members who did that wouldn't neccesarily care if they are breaking the rules or not.

LOL. (sarcasm)Yeah, and I expect people to read the guidelines of this forum and like Rattlebones and zman expect people to read the CCG the run times & guidelines(sarcasm off). It just doesn't work out that way and unless I know that someone has been very active in the Guild, I have no way of knowing how often Mouse frequents this site and/or the CCG forum. Some people may have printed out the old schedule and not come back to check to see if there was any change. And there's no notification unless you're just paying attention that the district HAS changed, so you never know. I don't like to assume that people know or don't know. It's always safer to ask to just be sure.

One thing I've learned from doing tech support customer service is that sometimes it's the simplest of explanations that can fix a problem. But always start with something simple, and then work to the more complex way a problem can be fixed. Anyway, she didn't say that they were CCG members, Mouse said she even realized that some of these people may not be CCG members, so there's no way to tell if they just weren't obeying the guidelines of the Guild or they just came there to greif because or if they just were passer-bys who just wanted a random group. Unless you know who they are, for example, if you saw zman hopping on & off and you KNOW 100% that zman is doing it (which he wouldn't), then you have no idea what their intentions are. Mouse may have assumed since they were there at that specific time, they were CCGers, but they may not have been. That's all I was saying. From another post that is similar in nature to Mouse's, it would seem that there are some people following the CCG around to intentionally cause greif.

I wouldn't bet that it was intentional greifers following around the CCG. When the guild runs are in effect, the district jumps up on numbers to well over 100 most of the time. When I am looking for a random run with strangers, I start with the big three and then start looking at any other districts that reasonably high. This problem happened when we were in zippity, and is sure to continue here.

Nowhere in the CCG charter does it state that you will get onto a run without a shuffle or name calling, it simply states that members of the guild are not permitted to do this. No one can stop random strangers from acting stupid lol.

lol... yes, I guess as the ccg meets to run VP random toons would be attracted by all the action. I'll just have to get there a little early in the future, and be more persistent. I probably won't go again until Wed night, as I need to track down some Big Wig powder for LOM.

I hope I see you there, Mouse!

It is expected of people who are in the CCG to read up on new information such as district changes or changes for times; altough it isn't enforced. Mouse is an active CCG member and been on raids since the district change. People who didn't know about the district change and just printed out the old schedule would think something was wrong when they found either few people, or no familiar CCG toons, in the Lobby.

My husband and I showed up about 20 minutes early for the run tonight. Though we have been on several runs with the CCG this was our first since applying for membership. There was so much shuffling and jumping on and off (something we had never seen on a CCG run before) that we backed off to the edge of the platform for a while to try to figure out what was going on. After watching for a while we did jump on and go through with a relatively good group. (some poor judgement calls and lack of following CCG guidelines but we made it through.)

Since we are so new we have no idea who if any of the people with us were CCG.

We were experiencing horendous lag problems tonight and I was surprised that we didn't lose anyone in the pie round.

This was not what we have come to expect from the CCG.

Though I don't know the history of people intentionally causing trouble, there are definitely people who have read this board and shown up looking for a good group without joining up. We have to admit we were some of them after we found the forum and decided to give it a try.

You do also have people that are going to find you by chance by simply hoping districts at the right time. (We recently realized that we had been on a CCG run before we found the forum. We were district hoping with friends one night and WOW there are all these people in nutty hills waiting to do the VP.)

I'm really hoping that because this was a weekend, that this will prove to be an anomaly and that things will get back to normal. and if you have to change districts ...so be it no big deal.

Little Robin Boigenbouncer 105lf TM5 (thanks to CCG)

Yeah, there's no way TO make people look at district and time changes, nor would I expect that Rattlebones and zman would want to try to make sure that everyone in the CCG has looked. The point I was trying to make since I wasn't familiar with how often Mouse went that I don't like assume that she knew and that's why I asked.

You asked/made the following questions/comments:

Quote:
Wouldn't someone who goes to CCG runs read most posts in the Cold Callers Guild Forums?
Not neccessarily. Because they don't have any way to make sure that everyone has read the forums and saw a little notation at the bottom of the run times that says he changed the district, there could be some confusion. Because I don't know Mouse personally and haven't had a lot of interaction with her (she's only had 45 posts), that's why I asked.

Quote:
Because of Zippetyham now being a low-populated district I can't believe that anyone would show up there to do VP.
But even if there were 5 people there in the lobby waiting to get in at Zippetyham, that doesn't neccessarily mean that they were or weren't CCG members. By the same token, if I didn't know the district change had been made, if I saw 6 people in the lobby, I wouldn't neccessarily think anything of it (probably because I'm usually a few minutes late and there's hardly a big crowd when I get there anyway). I'd just go in. Those may be people who knew at one time there were crowds showing up at that time at that district but don't know about this site. Because I didn't know Mouse personally, I didn't know if she had shown up at Zippetyham and there were greifers there to bug her. Now I know differently.

Quote:

I have a Hollywood suit, doesn't mean that I got it with the CCG does it? I went on a few runs with the CCG but before then, I didn't run with them too much, just with a group of friends. Am I to assume she got all of her suit peices/merits with the CCG? I wouldn't make that assumption with anyone else.

Quote:
She said herself that they were CCG members. Those CCG members who did that wouldn't neccesarily care if they are breaking the rules or not.
As I said, she didn't state that they WERE CCG members, but that she couldn't believe that CCG members would act that way. Maybe they were, like you said, and didn't want to follow the rules. Maybe they were stragglers who found a busy district. Maybe CCG has greifers following them around. Who knows?

So anyway, now you know why I asked those things, because I don't like to make assumptions. When I can avoid it, I do, so my questions/comments to her weren't totally out of line. I just wanted to make sure all my bases were covered and got all the facts I could before making a remark.

i was a little late tonight but there was a moron 15 laff that has been griefing the elevator for the last few days.... he hops on and stays til 1 *** and hops off and then gets on again and does this for a long long time.. the only time we get a chance to get a group is when lag hits and he can't get off in time...

I swear I would love to ring that morons neck just for being a meathead...

Do I have bad breath or sumpin?

Don't know if it's my imagination or not, but a couple times in the CCG elevator shuffle, I do believe that Toons were jumping off the elevator when *I* got on - and I was a namedropper at least and over 100 lp (NOT that that carries any special privilege - I just couldn't figger out why?) Later, in the victory dance, I heard a "growl" when I came on the screen. Maybe I've ticked somebody off!

So, here's the problem: Speed-chat communication being so bad, I can't KNOW if people are mad at me, or why. They may have a right to be! Sometimes I'm snippy, and I've unfriended a few toons either over their play or just to clear my friends roster up. Sometimes I'm a sarcastic toon.

All I can say is, if I ever got mad at ya, I get over it fast and hope you will too! When we're fighting the VP, let's set aside our differences and be fighting toon comrades!

Are you the peppy pepperburger that just ran with us? (I don't really know who everyone here is... sorry)

If so, not sure what to tell ya... I had some shuffle problems myself, including being sent up alone at first... but I can encourage you to just keep trying. It's possible that those who were causing the problem were not pleased about the mid-laffer that went with us.. but I think he carried his own just fine, so they don't know what they're missing! You did great with the teamwork and I'm sorry there was shuffle. This group is going to attract attention.. there's no way around that. The best we can do is to just get on and stay on until the elevator goes up. (Then, of course, hopefully you don't have to alt-F4 because you're alone.. lol..)
