Tips for CEO battle?

I am not new to Toontown but new to CEO. Only one of my toons has a bossbot suit for now. She has CEO'd twice. First run was pretty much a breeze after my initial adjustment period, I worked a seltzer bottle. Got down to 54LPs of 111 extremely fast until I started judging those Fore's correctly. After that though, everything went smoothly and easy.
Last night's CEO was a different experience altogether! I was feeling I had a good grasp on the CEO battle and happily started the end fight. I chose to seltzer and immediately started having problems with connecting the spray with the CEO. I would hold the buton down down until it entered the yellow area and release while aimed directly at the CEO but nothing was coming out on at least half of my sprays? Was I doing something wrong or was this perhaps a lag issue? Also, at a couple points I went over to catch snacks because I was deathly low more than once and the CEO was still slamming attacks into me as soon as I went to the belt. Is that normal? I did not stay there long enough to be a target (or so I thought).
Anyway, we did finally win as I was down in the single digits LPs, just wondering if you all have tips or insight on what I may have done wrong, what to notice, etc. Thanks.

Before I get on the table, I position my mouse so that the pointer is centered about an inch above my head. This helps me aim the squirt bottle at the CEO better. I heard one person put a dot there on their screen. (I was thinking about using eyeliner or something that I know will wash off to do that with.)

Also, if there is a toon on a table between you and the CEO, your stream will hit the toon in front of you and not the CEO.

In regards to getting hit at the conveyor, he will often throw gears at you or hit you with balls when you are over there. So, you have to watch for him. If he does a "FORE!" while you are over there, you have to move out of the way, or you will get hit with that too.

I know that when I'm on my laptop the seltzer just doesn't load right and goes off even though I'm still trying to fill it up. On my other computer, it works fine.

I keep my mouse on jump off button to save that extra second needed when he says "fore".
