G15 Keyboard?

I bought one today . . . now what to do with it?

I have one key assigned so far, for throwing. I tried it in CJ tonight (River because there were 4 left at the CCG run). It totally rocked!

So . . . what else can I use it for? I'd love some tips and advice from others who are using this keyboard.

I have the G11 which is basically the same keyboard without the little LED screen. I have had mine for over a year, but only recently started learning how to program the G keys. I haven't tried it in the CJ yet, but I use it a lot in the VP during the pie round. I know several who use it in the CJ and can stun and pan like champs. I can't wait to try it in there!

I found if you have a Microsoft mouse, and install the cd that it comes with, then you can Map keys to your mouse.

Kit had a mouse with 2 extra buttons and I mapped 1 for control and the other as insert.

Kit's new bluetooth mouse can do the same thing, but it is kinda hard to reach the 2nd button.

Kit had a "Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0"
Kit now has a "Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000" (it is bluetooth)

I used mine for pies in the VP and stunnining and panning in the CJ. You can set the key repeat options to "toggle" which basically makes an "authrow" key. If you hit the button, it throws pies/evidence until you hit the key again (or run out of evidence). If you set the delay between Insert down and Insert up correctly (varies depending on your computer), you can make it throw the pie/evi straight which is very useful for VP close stunning and CJ stunning. I had a selection with different arcs for driving the VP or panning.

You can also remap keys to the "G" keys to make them more convenient. I mapped the insert button and the arrow keys to the bottom row so they are easily reached by my left hand.

Unfortunately, since I switched to Vista, the G15 "autothrow" boots me out of TT and there is too much of a delay for close up pie stunning in the VP. So I don't really use it any more.

I used it for golfing... but I have the prior version of the G15 (the one with 18 keys... the new one only has 6), so that may not be as convenient.

I mapped one key to act as the insert key and another key to do a line drive right away... so I can control both with one hand. I set it up to repeat if I hold the key down. I use Vista and have never had a problem with it.

I use it for stunning the vp and for driving the vp back quickly.

I use it in CJ for stunning the cogs. I also use it for the scale in CJ... when the pan is low enough, you can hit it from over by the evidence area... makes it very quick to restock evidence and keep firing...

I haven't found any benefit for it in CFO or CEO.

Enjoy

I have the same keyboard as you do. So I tried the mapping but I had some issues. What are the steps you took to do this?
