from a stunning student:

(not that I was stunning as a student, I was learning how to stun...lol)

That was a great training session! I was glad to be there with Rhinogadget and Queen Cranky Pedalflapper, who are very good friends and coworkers. It was great to have someone say little things like take one step forward, or to measure the distance of where to stand by the same as the width of the tread. I really have a hard time getting that little blue meter just right, but counting helps and I did get it a few times and I am sure with practice I can get it. This is just very exciting to me because I just could not have learned this on my own by figuring it out. Also, when he said to move if the VP looks at me, I realized I needed to change my view with the tab key! I never was able to see if he was looking at me before because I had the wrong view, and now I can and that does really help. It seems the trick with that little blue meter is to learn how to hold it down just the right amount of time to get a low aimed hit, I need to work on this, it was hard for me. It seemed like if I timed it with my breath then I would know the right time a little easier, now I know what to practice!

8/8 Danced for Mr. Freeze

Amazing Grace HW50
Egor HW50
Princess Daphne Sparklemuffin HW50
Doctor Nickelphooey CC4
Krazy Kiki CC3

A great job by all...We had some that were very new to VP, still learning the ins and outs of the battle, what better place to learn than in the comfort of this fine team. Some nice shots made by some of the pie slingers...Keep practicing and having fun! Thanks again for another great training run Murky!

I wasn't on this training run because the time didn't work for me. But I was on the last one, and it really helped me. I have a question about this:

Are you refering to the spray of little gears that only comes out of the front in a big arc? Or to the big gears that come out of both the front and back doors? When I was practicing on the front, it was hard to key into when the VP was going to spray small gears. Is there a place to stand in the front where you can avoid this small gear spray without having to step back and out of the way while still having a decent angle on the door?

Hope I can make it to the next training run....

Yes, thanks from Rhinogadget to the entire team of trainers and healers!!! I will keep practicing!

Thanks for the tip about the tab view. I could not see the vp. Although I often tab for a different view while running in the streets, apparently it was not set right at the beginning of the battle.

Also, thanks for the post-tip about the ctrl key helping to change the blue bar... which is always too high otherwise. I will be practicing that part too. I had always been pretty good at hitting the vp, but came to specifically to try stunning. I thought I stunned 0 times out of my 1000 tries... but if you think I hit it a couple of times... well, okay, thanks!... lol

You guys are awesome! Thanks for giving us a safe place to practice!

Yes, if you stand on the side you can see exactly where the spray of little gears is coming out in the front (back doesn't have this one.) Many people find a step forward puts them out of range, gears go over their head and land well behind them.

You can see where to stand out of range on the sides from all the gears if you get back far enough to watch a toon at the door.

That's why the angle is recommended. Stand and watch far enough out on the sides to be beyond the gear range, move forward at an angle when the door drops, aim the pie at the back far corner of the box. The closer in you get, the more leeway you have with the blue bar.

One thing that I learned that only those trying to do close stunning would deal with was the swiping. So little is said about the swiping. We hear about thrown gears and showered gears. We hear about jumps and angles, and all that. But I had no idea that the VP would swipe at you when you ran into him for -5!

Might want to mention this in a more upfront manner in the tutorials and include methods for avoiding it. For those who know, it's an afterthought. For those who don't it's a bit of a surprise.

Thank you all for offering this training, it was awesome. My daughter ended up getting too stressed out, so I was obliged to receive training on her behalf, which I was very upset about

Amazing Grace, thank you for the constant advice. I was never sure if you were talking to me or someone else, so I apologize if i appeared not to be responsive. I took in the tips and when I play my toon (much smalller) I will try to get up very close to avoid the gears.

Thanks also to Egor for the toonups.

Specific tactics aside, it was nice to have the time to get used to timing the blue power bar. VPs have always been frantic in the past and I have never managed to do anything useful. Hopefully I will be able to contribute in future.

As I mentioned during the run you can avoid his swipe by jumping back out of his reach immediately after bumping into him. Be aware though, others can take the fall for you if they are close to him.

Oh, tell her to try again! The teachers and support toons are very kind. You are there to learn and there is no way you will every go sad on a training run.
