Please disable the goons

You all must think I'm a griefer for saying, "Please disable the goons" all the time in CFO today. I wasn't trying to be mean, though I'm sure some folks were annoyed. I want to win, yes, but I want you to win, too. I was on my best PC, so I was craning really well, but I kept getting knocked off my crane. It was clear the stompers were dedicated. One toon stood nose to nose with the CFO ready to pounce on any goon that dared to pop out of him (and yes it was a cat toon!) Only this toon didn't look around at all. When I stomp, I dedicate myself to one craner and keep MOVING. Is there a goon coming out? Is there a goon behind me, creeping up on the craner? Is the CFO about to "gear" my craner? If "your" craner is connecting, you need to keep him/her from getting knocked off that crane! You need to keep his/her focus not on that goon that is about to hit them for -24 damage, but on keeping safes from falling from the ceiling onto the big guy's head.

I am NOT saying it is easy to stomp. It is JUST as hard to be a good stomper as it is to be a good craner. BOTH are needed to win. Stomping is hard, especially near the end. That is why when it is easier, nearer the beginning you have to really work hard to stomp everything that moves.

I am not complaining. I win 9 times out of 10 that I go to CFO. When I do lose, it is often because of bad stomping. Sometimes that bad stomping is mine. Your PC and connection can affect your ability to properly ineract with the goons and cranes. So we need to understand that some toons are trying their darndest and still miss their stomps half the time. PC and connection aside, always look around, always protect the craners, always try to block the CFO from gearing them. (If you ever see me jumping wildly about as I stomp, that is what I am trying to do!)

OK, I have lectured you all long enough. Like your moms, I am telling you this because I love you, and I want you to win (and If I win, too, so much the better!)

One thing I would like to add for new stompers, please don't park on the red square between the craner and CFO. This draws a direct target to both you and the craner.
I peronally prefer to stand at the tread and stomp as the goons come out so they are stomped before they get out of hand.

So what's the best strategy when three of you are each guarding a craner and one person decides to run round and round in circles, occasionally coinciding with a goon?

String out a line about chest high on a medium-sized toon.

I love it! I am not an expert at stomping, but I must admit I maxed CFO and touched the crane ONE time. I have since attended the CCG Crane training! BUT, when I stomp, most times I change my view to be able to see the craners on my side. I do sometimes go "nose to nose" with the CFO, but feel my job is to protect the craners at all cost. If craners can't crane, none of us can win. I also feel that picking a spot and keeping it is the best way to stomp. Oh, I will move around to get a goon, but don't especially know how to deal with those running chaotically in circles. Actually, it drives me bonkers! So, with that said, stompers BE AWARE of what is going on around you!

When Cashbot HQ first came out me and 7 other toons that were sf's took it by storm. We had 4 craners and 4 stompers and 4 that could do both.

Quick clarification...I am saying there was 8 total not 12 for those who are adding it all up and were scratching theirs heads.

We would pair off into groups of 2 (1 craner 1 stomper)each stomper was required to guard the craner and disable all goons in the given 1/4 area. This was very successful for us because no one ran into each other and with a smaller area of the room to focus on chance of the craner being zapped or even less.

We also stationed ourselves to go back and forth between the cranes jumping to block the boss attacks.

One last thing...and this was hard for some...No one ( I repeat) No ONE gathered treasures unless it was a matter of necessity or go sad. We kept as many treasures laying out as possible for the craners use that we could.

Now I am not saying cause yourself to almost go sad...but you need to make sure that there is always some Tu near a craner for quick grab so they can get back to defeating the boss.

In truth no one likes their 100+ toon down in the 20 or 30 range. But it is better to go that low and have everyone make it though then trying to keep yourself 90+ and loose half your team. Or worse yet loose completely because no one can operate the crane.

One last thing...(sorry if I am rattling on here) there was one very unique and very thoughtful thing that we did after each boss run whether it be sell or cash. Our group would meet on a street and toon up. (Go grab a cog, lure him, have friends join for toon up, then they would run and others would join for toon up , once everyone was full the cog would be destroyed.)

I am not sure your particular strategy for Cash boss (may be more thought out then this) but this way we seldom lost and if we did it was only due to Internet or comp failure. (loosing only that toon and not the whole group)
