The two sides to the CCG.
Ok, this is NOT a rant, and is NOT bashing the CCG. I wanted to get that out before anyone thinks I am trying to start something again. Anyways, I have been working on this during my suspension(LOL), because I was trying to find ways to sort of appologize to TTC and kind of give both views of the CCG.
I decided to make this thread because alot of posts have been made about the CCG, and if it is good or not. Well, we know that there are people who absolutely love the CCG, as well as people who absolutely despise the CCG. Now, I think I have been too hard on them. I think that I have the right to my own opinion, but an opinion can be stated clearly without going over the edge. A few times, like many others, I may have went over the edge and for that I am sorry. I think we should all take a moment to look at both sides.
(By the way, I wasn't sure where this should be placed so if any member of the CCG is offended it was posted here, please let a mod know and I am sure they will move it to Off Topic or somewhere it belongs)
Supporters of the CCG:
The CCG has been around for a long time. People were tired of having to do all of this elevator shuffling, and they decided to make this group. Others who agreed that we should not shuffle, decided to join in. Before long, the CCG was the most-widely known group in ToonTown. They had many great times, and helped many people. Those who support the CCG had great runs with them. They either won, or just enjoyed the people they went in with. Those people will stand up for the CCG because of those times, and who can blame them? If you go into a group with a good attitude and have a great time, why not support that group? Now, there are things that the non-supporters do that can irritate the people who support the CCG. These things are listed at the bottom of the thread, but for now lets talk about the non-supporters of the CCG.
Non-supporters of the CCG:
These are the people that most-likely had bad runs with the CCG. Alot of times, by dying one time people get angry and decide to throw a hissy-fit with the CCG. In these posts and outbursts they say bad things about the CCG. The problem is, you can't base an opinion on one run with the CCG. In everything, there is good and bad. People have to understand, there are so many toons who attend these runs, you can't control all of the randoms that show up. I am sure there are members who are like this as well, but sometimes people who are not nice can seem nice and slip through the cracks. It is just how life is, so if you don't like it don't attend runs with the CCG. Instead of going crazy over getting sad, just move on and don't go with them. Always remember, the CCG does NOT guarantee a win. That is not why they were created. Supporters can also provoke non-supporters, and vice-versa. Below are some things I think can provoke either side. If we didn't do some of these things, we wouldn't have so many fights.
What NOT to do if you are a NON-supporter of the CCG:
1) If you state that you are not a supporter of the CCG, do NOT, and I mean do NOT attend a run with them. So many people from TTC go to these runs, and you will just look like a fool if you go out saying "I hate the CCG!" and then join them on a run the next hour. It looks very bad on your part, and is uncalled for.
2) If you know the CCG well enough to make a strong opinion of them, state it and get on with your life. Do NOT go around saying you hate them every 5 seconds, because even if you do, it makes you look bad and can really aggravate supporters of the CCG.
3) Don't talk about the CCG as a whole. When ONE person from the CCG makes you mad, don't go out saying how horrible the CCG is. Report that one person, post about that one person, and leave it at that. The CCG is a group, and just because one person is corrupt does NOT mean the whole group is.
4) Don't make up things. If you don't like the CCG, don't make up things that the CCG did to you. There is no reason for that. If you had a bad experience, it's ok to talk about it, that's what this country is about, but don't make up things they did. That is un-called for, and just rude.
What NOT to do if you are a supporter of the CCG:
1) Don't argue, or get in a flame-war with a NON-supporter. If someone says something bad about the CCG, state your opinion on the matter but do not bash them for what they said. Just as you have the right to your opinion, so do they, and unless you were there in the specific CCG boss battle they are referring to there is no reason to start a fight with them. Even if you think there is no way the CCG did it, let them express themselves some.
2) Don't let yourself be the one to cause the downfall of the CCG. If you are a member, or just someone who attends meetings, play by the rules and don't give someone a reason to talk bad about the group. Be supportive, and realize if you are rude to someone in a CCG run no matter WHAT, you have just given them a reason to bash the group and you could be the cause of a big fight.
3) Don't say you KNOW how the CCG is. This goes with number one a bit, but I feel is worthy to be posted by itself. You as a member can not know EVERYTHING every other member does in the CCG. Don't go around saying, "I know for a FACT the CCG did not do this!" As said above, the CCG can not control everyone that goes on their runs and there will be bad eggs in the batch. It's just how it is. As a supporter, or even as a big-time member, you can't know for sure that the specific run in question did not occur. Just as the non-supporters can't say that the entire CCG is bad, you can't say the entire CCG is good. It's just fair.
Ok, I am not going to give my opinion on the subject, so please don't take offense to anything I have said. I truly do want things to work out for the CCG, and for TTC. I feel like these topics are destroying TTC itself, and I would rather that not happen. I think that if we can all agree to disagree, we will be alright. Yes, there are haters of the CCG. Yes, there are lovers of the CCG. If we all realize that, and get along this will be a better place. The world itself is hard enough on people, so let's try to make this a fun place to be. I am not saying don't post anything good about the CCG, and I am not saying don't post anything bad about the CCG, I think good-natured, hearty debates are what make this world great. However, let's not take it farther than it should go. A debate does not mean to argue, it means to reasonably discuss a subject. If you have a bad experience, sure, post it. Just please, don't use words such as "hate" in the title of the thread. We can debate nicely, there is no reason to use such strong words. Also, if it JUST happened and you are one of those people that really get fired up(you know what I mean if you are one of those people) save your post until you have cooled off. Alot of times people realize how stupid they sound when they post or say something while they are angry. Say it in a calm manner, and just know not to go with them if the battle was too hard on you. Ok, I hope that I didn't offend anyone and that I made this a little bit better for both parties and for the CCG itself. I do think it's a good group for SOME people, but I also believe it's a group with an acquired taste. Like alot of other things, the CCG is not for everyone and that is understandable. I just hope that we can all learn to accept the other view, and know that if we have the right to our own opinion they do too. I hope both sides view this as a 'helping' thread rather than a 'bashing' thread, I really do hope that we can all come together on this.
