Are you aware that by pressing the CRL key it will let you jump and then you wont lose laff from when the VP jumps?
EDIT: Nvm someone already said the same thing. Last edited by -SkinnyBiscuit-; 02-24-2008 at 07:52 PM. Reason: Too late ;) |

If you are in VP and uncomfortable with your laff, please hang back....I typically will check on toons that are hanging back and will happily pie them.
I also tend to check those lower laff toons through the battle and will try to tune them...however...I will not chase you. If you need a tune up go out of range of the gears...maybe try jumping up and down to draw attention of others. We all get carried away in the battle and forget to check others laff. Worse comes to worse try standing in front of someone!

Guess I've been blessed. Yesterday I got so involved with my pieing that I didn't even notice my laff was down until I started getting hit in the back. A couple of times that happened. Couldn't seem to get my finger on the right button to get my jumps in...(rolls eyes 'cause she such a clutz). So I know that there are usually toons looking out for us underachievers. Thanks

I'm pretty sure i was on the run you went sad in.
I heard 2 toons go sad in the pie round and as far as i'm aware, there was no call for help.

When I first started doing VPs, I kept missing the jumps. I just didn't pay enough attention to the whooshing sound. It was all I could do to get the pie throws right as well as watch for jumps and gears. I couldn't really watch for laff getting low. Now, it is nearly automatic, although I still occasionally miss jumps that should be easy when I am facing away. In the last few VPs I've been in, I've begun to more actively look at the laff levels of other toons, especially those who may be inexperienced. Yesterday enough toons were driving him back when he was stunned, so I took some time to look around in between stuns. I've found, though, that if I try to do something other than just drive the VP back, like hitting someone with pies, I sometimes miss jumps then as well. Getting better all the time.... |

I was there too, on my son's toon. I also did not hear anyone call for help. There was a lower laff (I'm pretty sure it was an uber) than you on the same run. Both of you went sad. I was sorry to hear that, but I had no idea you were missing jumps. Please call out if you need it - you are right, you can't keep taking that -10 damage.
I'm not a fan of just randomly pieing people who don't ask because the pieing can distract them from what they are doing and even cause you both to miss damage the VP is throwing out. So its best to just ask for help! |

NO!!! That's as bad as a CFO treasure snarfer!
Yell for help. Whisper, communicate, something. But don't come and deliberately stand in one's way. Back up the ramp, ask for help and try to jump when you see the vp jumping. Someone should come to your aid or possibly be generous enough to throw out a tu unite. And by all means, if you are only missing a bit of laff and the VP is almost over the edge, don't cry for help. They're are plenty of daisies in the playground that us 15-20 laffers know where to find and would be more than happy to point you in the right direction after you have danced. It is not necessary to come out from dancing in a boss battle at full laff. Shoot! Bright idea! You could even go train your doodle a bit after the battle. Standing deliberately in front of a toon when they're either in the front or the back is about the most annoying thing I PERSONALLY have ever seen in a VP. It causes more harm than good. Rushing to stand in front of me (in the gear spray area) shows me that they aren't lagging, so that's not an excuse. It does show me also that if they can run and stand in front of me, they can also run right back up that ramp, jump and ask for help. Try it sometime people! People need to LEARN to ASK FOR HELP, COMMUNICATE and quit EXPECTING EVERYTHING TO BE HANDED TO THEM ON A SILVER PLATTER AND SPOONFED to THEM. They got on a full elevator shuffle free or reasonably shuffle free. The rest is up to them to communicate and work as a team. Otherwise, if you don't like this way, might I suggest checking out Brrlgrrl's thread on "Extra Special Runs". Personally, I think all this coddling has spoiled way too many people around here. Has anyone spoiled you today? Who needs a silver spoon tossed their way? Tell you all what, this is about as close to a silver spoon as I can get so you all just have to deal with it!

Gosh, on my first toon I went sad more times than I care to count in boss battles (good grief, I think I went sad in my first two mints, too! LOL!). You will learn the more you play how to get through the battle. People here are very nice about posting suggestions in threads in the battle reports... take a look at those. If you need a toonup, move away from the vp and say anything. You can even just type random letters, and someone will probably pick up that you need help. One thing is that you need to move out of range of the vp's gears. That way someone can give you points without being hit. Good luck on your next try!
