CCG: Attention Please

Many of you do an awesome job of reporting runs. However, it has come to our attention that some of our posts are not in compliance with TTC policies ESPECIALLY in regard to Flaming and naming names.

Be advised that the moderator staff has been busy cleaning up the run reports. Many posts were edited or deleted to remove offending material.

In the future, any run report that names all the participants and proceeds to rehearse the things that one or more of them did which the OP considered “bad” will be removed. You are shedding a negative light on one (or more) of 8 toons and that is against TTC policy.

Constructive criticism isn’t all that difficult to convey. The best way to do it is FIRST make sure you are no longer frustrated with the run. Then wrap your constructive criticism in praise and dish it out in tiny little bites. However, if you can’t do it that way…then just do not name the offending toon and try your best to put as positive a spin on the run as possible. Talk about the things that went right and the people that did right.

I realize that bad runs happen. Bad teamwork happens. Sometimes it is because we are playing with young children and they don’t know or understand the rules. Sometimes our teammates are REAL griefers who have set out to cause havoc in the CCG. Sometimes they are innocents who are just not playing the way we think they should…or who are just not in sync. Whatever the reason…if you must vent your frustrations about a run, please do so to an ambassador and include the name(s) of the offending toons(s). Do NOT post them in your report.

Once again…even if you do not tag one specific toon, your post could be in violation of the TTC policy of Flaming – Naming names.

ONE MORE THING!!!
Instead of making a new post to report a different run, if you were the last poster…just choose the “edit” button and paste your new run into your last post. Many posts have been merged because the OP posted 2 or 3 runs in a row. Rather than double/triple post, just edit it in.

Thanks EVERYONE and keep up the good work. You are the best!

Deputy Monty

Flaming
Any posts that are hateful or mean in nature will be removed immediately. We do not tolerate attacks based on race, religion, gender, s**ual orientation, or political affiliation or any posts indicating grieving other users on the forums or in game by purposefully causing them to go sad because of their laugh limit, gag limit, age, etc.. No personal threats or harassment. This includes posting pictures representing an attack. Debate opinions and not the people behind them. This also applies to all forums, threads, posts, private messages, userpages, profiles, avatars and signatures.

Naming Names
This falls under "Flaming". Naming people or their characters in negative light is not permitted. That person is not able to defend themselves or their actions and what seems like an inappropriate action, which can often be a simple misunderstanding, can lead to a negative reaction against that toon (avoidance, revenge). If someone griefs you in the game, report it to ToontownStaffor VMK Staff . If someone griefs you on this site, PM an admin or moderator or report their posts.

Thank you, DM, for this reminder. One thing I personally do to make sure I am calmed down after a bad run is that I make it a habit to wait a day to report any runs, good or bad. In this way, I never feel like I'm posting hotheadedly and I usually forget some of the bad by the next day anyway.

If someone finds it difficult to convey what happened on the run without being completely negative, simply listing the stats (toon names, suit levels, laff levels) should be enough.

Wink

Wow how can you have time to generate a negative report? I must be getting in with the wrong toons (jk)! I can barely seem to get everyones laff & suits let alone keep track of who is where (craning/stomping), or better yet how many toons on jury, cogs throwing evidence, or bonuses....LOL.

Thanks for the info, DM. Wise counsel, as always.

Just to give another example of a "bad" run that might have an innocent explanation:

A dear SF of mine was having major problems last night with her Toontown connection. She got disconnected numerous times, and also experienced several times when she could not select a gag, pass, or communicate.

Unfortunately, all this happened to her while she was helping another friend out with her Lawbot Key Party. You can imagine what havoc ensued.

This is a very complicated computer game with delicate connections, and sometimes unfortunate things happen to our computers even when adults are playing. Let's try to give the benefit of the doubt whenever possible---you never know what is happening on the other side of the keyboard!
