first cj run

Hi,

I will be trying for my first cj run tonight at 8:30 eastern. My toon is Sir Boo Boo Wrinklenose. He is a 105 laffer w/ no drop. If you see me, please give me a little bit of guidance if you can. Thanks.

Congrats!

Hi - you were in our elevator. You did fine, and I hope you got a good idea of everything that was going on. A toon jumped off to let you on, which isn't typical - we aren't supposed to do that. He was trying to help you out, though.

You did fine in the evidence round. Did you manage to seat any jurors? That takes more practice usually before you get the hang of it...

A bit of advice. In CCG runs, we typically try to only use gags that will take out a cog (sometimes with another toon, e.g. firehose and grand piano). Please try to figure out the math, so that if you are trying to advance a gag you don't accidentally use too little firepower to take him out. That can be perceived as "working gags", which we don't do in CCG runs. If your gag alone, or in combo, won't be enough, please indicate that by saying something like "Can you help me?" "I haven't found it yet." That usually works, and most people are happy to help in those cases. Otherwise I don't think anyone would EVER max trap...lol...

If you need any help, just pm me.

Hope you had fun!
Craig

Laff, laff, laff

Another bit of advice....

You did great on the run. However, coming into the battle with only 14 laff... not a good idea. You shocked Loki, Master Wally Biggenpoof, and me. It took us two rounds to get you back up to full laff, and if lure had missed on the first round, you would have been sad checking out the different patterns of snowflakes in the playground. Also, like Craig said... play gags you know will take out cogs. Buildings are a great way to work your trap. CJ.... not such a great place. However, other than that, you did a great job!!!!! The only way to get better is to keep coming back.

Thank You Thank You!!!

Wow, I just wanted to say thanks you to all of you that helped me (actually, my daughter). Sir Boo Boo is a toon that my daughter and I share. Back in 04 was when I did most of the work on him and now my daughter mostly plays him.

Also, I want to apologize for her coming on the elevator w/ only 14 laff points. My daughter was stuck in a battle and didn't have enough time to toon up. That will NEVER happen again. It was just poor planning.

My daughter thought it was ok to do "working gags" during a run. She just misunderstood what I told her. From now on, she will only shoot to kill. No more practicing her gags for points. That was sort of my fault.

I also want to thank whoever got off the elevator for her. That was so thoughtful. She will definitely take all of your advice for the next run. Oh, and she did not seat any jurors. She said that was really hard. I guess she'll be practicing the next time.

One more thing. She was playing on our laptop and she kept getting major delays. From now on, she will use the desktop which has far less freezes and delays.

Again, thanks SOOO much for all of your help. You guys rock!

It was no problem. It was actually funny. I was on the phone with Loki (my mother) and at the same time we both said "Oh My God!!" At that same time, Master Wally Biggenppof, typed in the words "OMG!!!" on the screen. Showing up at a run with only 14 laff is better than showing up without any gags, which I have done!!! It was just a shock right out of the gate, hee hee. But, no harm no foul. The first toon up only gave her 16 additional points, which is why I said, if lure had missed she would have been sad. The second round Loki and I both hit her with toon up, so she was filled back up. It was actually a fun run. And the more she goes, the better she will get. And as far as seating jurors, I am a Big Wig and I still have problems with that part of it. Hope to see her again!!!!

So THAT's what the OMG was all about...I'm sf with the other three of you on that side (Little E, Master Wally, and Loki) and when I heard it I couldn't figure out what would cause that reaction...hee hee...

As for playing on a laptop. I ALWAYS play on my laptop. Because of the "memory leak" caused by TT, once I've done several things, I find that I not only have to log off, but to get my computer to free up memory, I have to physicially shut off my machine and restart. I always do that before a CJ, because it has more lag than any other boss battle.

Others have suggested that doing things like going home, doodle training, etc. all exaggerate the effect.

I don't have problems if I do the hard restart. But sometimes my friends have to wait longer for me to restart - on their desktops, they just log off and on...takes a minute. My way takes about 5 minutes - but always works!

I find I also have to do a restart when I've done about 4 CFOs or VPs (marathons)...

Oh yeah, I've shown up without restocking gags.......more than once....opened my book and saw 80/80..and off I go -forgetting that I just did a CFO and received a restock toon up or something that filled up the gags...."say hello to my level 7s and SOS cards...."

Anyway- nice to have you back!
