my comment on this is that finding yourself with only one craner is the PERFECT opp. to learn yourself! some people, myself included... would never leave their comfort zone if not forced into it. and u know what... sometimes you find it isnt as bad as you imagined!

But seriously, it is the opportune time for someone to take the chance to learn something new. Same with the CJ, if you see that there are too many at the scale, then take a chance and run over & help stun the cogs. |

That's exactly how I learned how to crane. When Pinky was in her brand new cash suit she kept going sad. After several runs where no one else could craned - I learned out of necessity. Pinky is now an RB50.
I'm not the best craner compared to the likes of KM and others. However, it's been a long time since I've gone sad in the CFO (now watch me go sad on the next run - knock on wood). The last run where we were down to just 4 toons I craned and stomped and we all danced in the end. In a perfect world, balancing the loads with craners/stompers is a great idea. But, knowing me I'd never remember which line I was suppose to be in. What can I say? Blonde roots grow deep. |

Yes, safes do alot more damage... but they can also be hurtful to the team if one is thrown when the CFO isn't dizzy and you don't have very skilled safe-knocker-off people with you. Your idea is something we all wish could happen, but unfortunately it won't. I can do both, so I wouldn't be able to stand on one side or the other. I would suggest that you might try and join a CCG CFO training run, where people take their time in helping those less experienced in any and all area's. |

Pix, as usual, has outstanding advice -
If you aren't the greatest craner, there are two ways you can greatly contribute on the crane. #1 - keep throwing stunned goons. Ignore safes, and you be the primary goon thrower. The more of those you throw, the more that you keep off the floor to keep from hitting toons with their lights. #2 - If you aren't great at picking up goons, particularly those near the door, then once a few hits have taken place, prepare a safe. Get it lined up, pulled back, and ready to fly the instant he is stunned. If you are ready, and throw the second stars appear, you won't have to worry about giving him a helmet, and you'll get the max hit. When we do marathons, typically one or the other of us on one side will do most of the gooning, the other holding a safe ready to throw the second he is stunned. You can always drop the safe and pick up a goon if one is stunned in your immediate area. These are two great ways you can contribute even if craning isn't your forte'.

I don't know until I get into the battle what I am going to do. If we have cash ubers on the run and I am on a 100+, I will opt to give them first choice for the crane. And if I am on my cash uber, I am gonna grab a crane myself. If I don't get one, I will gladly stomp away but just watch lp a little better. I don't believe this problem is going to arise all that much, but should you find yourself with a lack of craners then by all means use it to learn!

I agree with this, that is how I learned. We were once in there and no one was on the crane, everyone was goon stomping. I jumped right on and kept on ever since. Excellent opportunity to learn, esp when the yellow goons are out!! But the idea is very clever they had about standing to each side!

In a perfect world this could work. Well... we all know Toontown is not perfect.
What's going to happen is there will be more toons that want to crane or more toons that want to stomp and the loads will become unbalanced like they are now and we will be at square one again. The best advice I've gotten when you get into a boss headquarters is look around to see what you can do to help your team and do it. Whether its stomping or craning or panning or stunning or tuning do the best you can and don't quit unless you go sad or win. Try to get comfortable being uncomfortable and after a while you'll be great at it. Have Fun!!! |
