Darn Toontown Maintenance!!!!!

Oh my gosh, we were in the VP run of a lifetime this morning at 11am CST. 8 went into the elevator, and 7 made it into the pie throwing. I don't think I have everyone's names, but I recognized two toons from previous runs: Rosie Petalspeed and Spike Thunderzilla. At the beginning of the skele round TT warns us that we have 20 minutes before they're going into an update.

Everybody says "Hurry!" and we start sounding our way through the skeles. We have about 12 minutes left going into the pie throwing. This VP was really stubborn, almost as fast as we could get him to go down the ramp, he would jump right back up. We lost 2 more during the pie throwing. I used up a TOW Unite to buy us more time. I kept sweating the countdown, because at 0 minutes left, the VP was not yet on the heli-pad. So we keep at it, ignoring the "You must exit Toontown now!" warning.

More pies, more pies, finally, we hear the gears grinding and we send him over the edge. Spike Thunderzilla says, "Woo hoo!" And then we were promptly kicked out of the game! No dancing, no nothing. After all that?!?! I hope we didn't get NOTHING out of it...grrr, I have to wait an hour to find out!

Well, to the other 4 toons who stuck it out in there, I applaud your fighting spirit! You guys never gave up, and in the end we triumphed, even if we have nothing to show for it. Talk about dying hard with a vengeance!! You guys rock!

I love the effort!! Way to go! I do hope you got something out of it, but at least you were able to beat the stinky get out timer! :-)

And I don't get it. They just went down last night for three hours or so. Guess they realized they boo-boo'd huh? Stinkers! ;-)

I logged in and indeed, we rescued Madam Chuckle, my suit is HW 11, I have 1,310 Merits to get, and so on and so forth. I still miss the dancing and cheering, though!

I was on a full load also for VP and just as we get started the message pops up. Luckily for our group all 8 made it snappy and we pushed the VP into the s**** yard and danced. Even had time to gag-up before being booted out.

CFO was missed completely, but we were able to log on just minutes before CJ. We had one elevator full and had an awesome group with perfect teamwork.

I must be so insecure that I need to hear the "You Rock!"s, "You are awesome!"s, and "You are a genius!"s from my fellow cartoon characters. But you know, it was a hard-fought battle, the second hardest one I have ever fought (the hardest one was when we were down to 3...and still made it), and I wanted to celebrate!

Oh well. See you all at the next VP!

I was in a mint, and one of the players kept getting upset when the invasions ended. Kept saying, I need cog bucks! Wasn't clear on the concept I guess.

So the count down gets going, we are closing in 15 for emergency maintenance! So, my friend and I use level 7s to move everything along, time is ticking in the last big room of cogs, just three min left. Then we all wait in line to jump the barrel at the mezzanine. So Mr. worried jumps everyone out of the way to go first. Fine, I say "be my guest" and bring up the rear. It always takes me a couple of times to get through. Up the stairs, past the three stompers, and then I missed the jump on the three moving gears because I see "Mr worried is battling the supervisor!" Two min left. So I wade back and get there just as a wedding cake hits the set. My heart sank. My friend says, I tried to stop them, but the timer went to zero. Thank goodness their lure missed, so the cogs were all standing! So I jumped in with a nice "Huh?" to a great "I don't care response." Oh joy!

I just put it down to Mr. worried being a kid, but the other toon with the cake knew better. If I hadn't of let them go first, it wouldn't have been an issue, because of course I would have waited. I was going to use my train!

Anyway, I got the bucks. It had been a fine run up to the last room. We were two soundless and doing very well with them. I guess they just freaked out!

Auntmare, I was just kidding around bein silly :-) I of course love that part as well, especially when it's been a nail biter! And it's great when folks get silly and creative with what they say or do. I was in a boss fight once and a toon during the dance kept telling each person "I think you should choose XXXX" And each XXXX was the last gag track you couldn't choose. I don't know why, but I thought it was funny :-)

And speaking of maintenance.... seriously? It's down again? When am I gonna get to plaaaaaay???? /whine

I know! I can't stand the maintenance either!

I was settling in for a leisurely night in Toontown when my friend asked me to fight the CFO. I teleport over to him and there are 6 of us there ready to go. 2 more pop in and we head over to the elevator. My friend disco's (he has this problem a lot), we are down to 7 inside the elevator.

By the time the elevator door opens, we are down to 6. By the time we line up for the cogs, we are down to 5, and there are only 2 on my side. Somehow, we end up alive and at full laff heading into the crane round. I decide not to bail, even though I am stocked to the hilt with lvl 7 gags.

Now, everybody knows I don't think I can crane worth a stink. The other 4 say, "I would prefer to disable goons." Oh no! CCG, where are you when I need you?

I bravely hop on a crane. I figure, I will give it my best shot. Actually, I did the same thing yesterday with randoms, and jumped on the crane, and did pretty well. So maybe, I can replicate that performance.

First thing I notice is, 3 of us get on cranes and 2 stomp. The stomper in my corner doesn't really stay with me, so I figure, I'll just be careful and take it slow. I actually surprise myself, and do okay - I hit him with goons, take off a couple safes, put one on by accident as another craner took his safe off and I replace it, and hit him several times while he is dizzy with a safe. But for some reason, he's still orange, and he's not budging. Then the room starts to swarm in red and orange goons. Every time I start getting a good swing going, a goon wakes up and headlights me and I fall off the crane. This happened at least 6 times.

I then realize it's because I don't have any stompers near me. So I decide to stomp for someone else, but the problem is, there are no safes near her. So I get on another crane to try to throw safes to her, but then I get knocked off by the CFO or by a waking goon.

5 of us are whittled down to 2, me and a determined purple dog. Well, suddenly she's gone as well and it's just me so I high-tail it out of there, but now can't get back in because TT is down for maintenance.

This morning's CCG run didn't go so hot either, but I don't think any of us went sad, we just Alt-F4'd...at least, I think that because suddenly I found myself the lone person in a room full of goons...

Oh well, tomorrow morning I hope! Revenge will be mine!

PS - I would be so MAD if someone tried to steal the MINT from me...after all that work. Thank goodness you got there in time!!

I've fueled up on a pot of coffee, it's Friday night and TT is down again. I need bux on one toon, merits on another and cash suit parts on yet another. I had every intention of completing each and every one of those tasks by morning.
I've updated my toons' profiles both here and in the CCG database, I've posted in threads...looks like I may have to resort to housework because I'm definately not sleeping now. Two more hours to go...

ROFL. I wish I could acquire a taste for coffee. Only way I drink it is if it's a Grande with caramel. Or, heavy cream. Then I can only handle a half a cup. I will see you cleaning house hun. Gonna do the same. Or twiddle my thumbs, waiting on Sue II to hurry up and wake up to enjoy his Birthday!

What is this maintenance all about anyway?

I don't know if this is actually what it's about but... on the last CFO and CJ runs of the night, everyone on my teams got booted just before the dancing started (we all did get our rewards). Someone also said that the same thing happened at the VP. I do know that when I tried to get through to Live Chat earlier this evening, there was about a 10 minute wait time, so I'm guessing they're having some gameplay issues with the new updates and hopefully are fixing them.

Of course, they could just be putting in new word filters and an auto-ban feature instead. Who knows?

I didn't get booted from either of the two VP's I did today, but I did experience worse lag issues than I have in months. The last two days have been incredibly bad, but I doubt very highly any of that will be resolved within the next hour.
