Potentially dumb questions?

1. What does disco'ed mean?
2. How are you guys able to report on all these runs so thoroughly? Get everyone's names and everything? I mean, we're on these elevators for a few seconds together...
3. How do you know what level of a suit people are and when they're going for new suits? Now THAT'S impressive...

Hee Hee - there are no dumb questions, trust me!

1. Disco'd is an abbreviation for someone who disconnected during the run. Sometimes you'll see it as D/C. Often you can tell someone has lost their connection because the cogs come out and line up really slowly and the toon in question won't pick a gag. Other times, the disco can be sudden.

2. Reporting runs - each person has a different way of doing it. First, it's not necessary to include ALL the info that you see on some reports. If you can just get each toons name, that's great. It takes time to get used to adding suits, laff and promos - don't worry about that for now.

Couple ways - some people scribble very fast or in their own shorthand the toon names. Others take a screenshot which is the F9 key on your keyboard. It's best to take a few screenies.

Myself, I like to take screenies on the front elevator view, the view after the doors have closed, and various others, depending if my view was blocked. During the break between cog and skel round, I click on toons to try to get their laff pts. I also scribble names during the break if I missed the screenie.

Promotions - I'll have to find the list, but you can tell by the amount of merits/bucks/jns whether they promoted and also which suit they are.

Those are the basics quickly. I'm pretty sure there is a good post somewhere here in CCG forum that explains it much better and I'll try to find it and post the link. But don't worry about all the extra detail right now, that tends to get easier as you get more comfortable.

**I have this post saved in my private messages so the information regarding toons is outdated but the procedure for gathering information is the same.**

First you need to be a registered member on the CCG Member Database. To enter victories, just click on Victories then click on Report a Boss Run.

To get the suits, you can do this in 3 ways:

Screenshot Method:
Many people take a screenshot of both elevator views (front while loading and back while the doors are closed). Then you just need to view your screenshot to see the suits.

Shorthand Method:
The way I usually get suit levels is by writing down brief info and suits... for instance, on this victory report:
Quote:
Little Dizzy Twinklemuffin Reports that on:

Aug. 22, 2006 0500 CST
8/8 Danced for Daffy Don

+*Little Dizzy Twinklemuffin 112 HW40
+Prof. Wally Poppencorn 115 HW30
+*Serendipity Dawg 34 HW
+*Not T. Monkey 109 HW30
*Captain Cuckoo Crinklebrains 106 TF
Bunny Incognito 47 MS
Joan of Arf 76 CC
Little Kippy Fuzzymonkey 94 CC

+ Together in Cog Round
* Together in Skele Round
I probably would have written down this info as we were loading:
Quote:
LD 40
Prof. 30
Ser 8
Not 30
Cap TF
Bun MS
Joan CC
Little CC
Then I would fill in the rest of the names and laffs as we were battling or during the break.

Dancing Merits Method:
The last way to get suit levels is to make sure you already have names and laff written down. Then take a look at the merits needed while everyone is dancing. You can find a list of merits needed here. Then as you view the merits, let's say someone's merits show 60/80 merits, you know that person was a Name Dropper 3. If they need 800/160, you know that person was a Glad Hander 8 and they just promoted to Mover Shaker 5. Any time the first number is higher than the 2nd number, it is a promotion.

Thing is, many people report runs and don't list the suit levels. That's ok too. It's best to have as much information as you can, but not imperative to have it all.

I take screen shots from both sides (front and back). During the cog rounds, I scribble the initials of the toons and their lp's from my side first, then the ones from the other side in a separate section (I get lp's on that side between rounds or right before the boss fight...in the playground if I miss them there).

My notes for the above run would look something like this:

LDT 112
PWP 115
SD 34
NTM 109

CCC 106
BI 47
JOA 76
LKF 94

After the run, I fill in the form on the CCG website based on my screenies and notes, then copy and paste the info here.

Just like everyone else above, I take screenshots of the elevator (front and back). During the cog round, I try to write full names and laff on my side, and get the others before the skeleround/during the crane fight.

Sometimes I'll take a cpl screenshots of the lobby as I'm on my way towards the loading area - they can be real handy for picking out names and suits if you miss something.

Remember to clean out the screenshots in your TT folder every so often - they seem to add up VERY quickly.

Hi -
I don't bother with screen shots - I'll never get back to it!

Once we are loaded, I check to see if there are Hollywoods, Robber Barons or Big Wigs - and write down their # (cause the Merits/Cogbucks/JNs at the end won't tell you what level - the repeat at 20, 30, 40 levels - so you can't tell if someone is a 22,32 or 42 if you just get those #s at the dance)

Second, I write down first names/initials, like eveyrone else...

Third, as we are walking out of the elevator, I ususally say "Hi everybody" - this gets people to talking, and I get their names from their conversation bubbles...

Fourth, I get the laffs from the side I'm on. At the midpoint, I get laffs from other side.

Fifth - when we are dancing, you write down the merits/cgbks/jns - they will be something like 60/80 or 2100/600. If the first # is bigger than the second, they have received a suit promotion - its always nice to note this in the write up.

Finally, with all that info - look up the suits at the site noted earlier -

(if you missed laffs, you can try to get them in the Playground - but that doesn't always work..)

Also - remember to write down the reward you get -

When you are doing the report, if there was anything particularly interesting - someone who helped out with a unite, or if lure missed 4 times, or there seemed to be lag, etc - note it - it makes your reports more readable

That's all there is to it! It may seem hard, but frankly it helps to keep you very interested in what is going on!
