Heart Failure

You know, the debate about whether this is "just a game" or not will rage on ad infinitum....with everyone making good points.

But I got a bigger rush tonight playing this "game" than I get in most of the work I do in "real life". I thought my heart was gonna stop!

Playing on Super Dad, my 25 laff 3 track that I can't seem to get to level 6 gags on (no time for buildings, 15 minutes here and there during invasions), things were going pretty well in the first round of the VP. (this was my third VP attempt on this toon, with a 50/50 average going in). We finish the first round, and are waiting for the second.

I noticed someone disappeared, and then horror of horrors, realized I was on the 3-toon side. Well, that isn't so bad...

Unless you are a 25-laff, weak gag-toon, paired with a 22 laff 2-track (maxed) uber and a 67 laff no-lure toon. My heart skipped more than a few beats...

Well, I knew I was a goner. As the skeles came out, I was calculating every possible gag combo in my head that we could use to perhaps live.

We survived the first round, thanks to only two cogs and good hits. Then four come out. I start saying my good byes....Edmund (the 22 laffer), whips out a Julius Wheezer, and I think this is when Bongo used a wedding cake, which I tagged onto the 12 with a full cream pie. We take the maximum amount of time between rounds. Edmund sacrifices a LOM (which is a sorry SOS if ever there was one. I have NEVER seen one hold for four rounds, an this time it only went for two.)

Well, I doodle to get restocked, we take out one or two more, and just when I think we might all make it, the stupid cogs come unlured and pound Edmund. So I'm feeling all sorry for him as he goes small and lands back in the PG, and then remember that I'm likely to be next. The cogs go for Bongo, which brings him down to about my laff level...

And we only have two left, which we take out. Amazingly enough.

What a rush!

(I'm sorry Edmund that you wasted two SOS on the run and didn't get to see it through).

I now actually get why you would play an uber. Sad Lisa is my hero! I can't wait to get Super Dad up to a more productive level. It still won't take away that "OMG" feeling you get when lure misses, or they jump aside.

It was almost as much of a rush as getting your first Professor Pete on your #325th VP! (lol - Candy Sparkleface has reset the counter...#8 and no twin brother for Prof. Pete)

Just had to share a fun experience....thanks everyone!

Craig

Definately a great run!

I was on the other side and praying the four of you would all come out alive! I had seen we only had two of the 5 low lps on my side for the skel round so kept my fingers crossed. I was really sorry to hear the two sad lil noises that sends toons back to the pg.

It was a great run with the vp fight much shorter then any of the cog fights. I would have to say, even at 108 lp's, that was one that had my heart going too!

Great group of ubers and toons all the way around!

What a rush!

Sounds delightfully terrifying! I'm creating and uber and hope to have the courage to take her on VPs.

Actually, there weren't four of us - Amethyst Heart, the 125er had disco'd leaving us with only the three! With her lure, we probably wouldn't have lost anyone. Without it, luck and a little creativity kept two of us going.

And it was fun!

I know how you feel Super Dad. I felt the same sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat way when I took my Lil Smirky to the VP the very first time. I think I held my breath during the entire VP, lol. She's a three tracker just like you. What a rush it was indeed. You will thoroughly enjoy playing your little uber.

I love this kind of load with the mixed laff and gags.

Vicky Whiskerdoodle you were awesome. I was Maroon Cat sided with you both cog rounds. Superb play all around by very awesomely talented players

Woot! Let's play again, yay!
