Hi There! - A new member of the CCG
Hey all!
Just wanted to share the story of my first four runs with the CCG. Although my TTC name is Baron von Ig, I registered on the member page for my son's toon, Bumbletoes. I had created a TTC account for him as well, but it was removed. (I think this is because two accounts from the same IP address, but I digress) I looked for the guild after helping get my son to a 58 laff toon, he wanted to take on the VP. Unfortunately, we were then introduced to the Ele Shuffle. After getting stuck on several half-full elevators or having 3 or 4 toons disco during the battles, I figured that there had to be a better way, and that's how I found the guild. We joined you all on the 3pm EST VP run on Sunday the 7th. Unfortunately, there were only 6 on the ele. One of the toons, Squeaky something, was on my side, and after we worked through the Cog battle with 3 on a side, some of the others wanted to leave. We stuck it out though, and although the other 4 toons either got sad or disco'd during the Skele battle, Squeaky stayed with me, using some powerful SOS gags and TOW. We made it through the endless Skeles, and then left. For our second trip through, we joined the 7pm EST run on Sunday. Had a phenomenal group, including Squeaky again! Plowed through the Cogs and Skeles, and thanks to timely toonup from a small toon (it may have been Brer Rabbit himself!) we beat that VP for my son's first SOS card. Tons of fun... and I knew that we would be back early and often for other runs with this great guild. Unfortunately, or next effort was last night's 8pm run (Jan. 8th) We got on the ele, but it seemed that no one on my side of the cogs had lure. Lots of Sound being used, but not effectively, and we went sad VERY quickly. Hustled back to the estate for a quick toon up, recharged the gags and back to the pit, where we found no one, but there were 6 toons, all pretty high level, waiting on the platform. After waiting a bit, we got our 7th and 8th, including a HW50 and got on board. The cog battle was going a bit better, but after a lure and a sound missed, we were down to 8 laff. Surprisingly, no one offered us a toon up, and the ensuing level 12 attack made us sad. This is not meant to be negative, all runs were a lot of fun. It was just odd that our first real run went SO well, and then the two from yesterday, not so much. I know that he can't wait for the next shot at it! Won't be today, as I don't get home in time for the 6 EST and he will be in bed by the 10EST (although his toon just may wander into the pit... you never know!) Ok, enough of this book. Just wanted to say that it's great that your guild is here, and we are happy that you allow us (somewhat) low laffers in and don't get too mad when we make rookie mistakes! Keep it up, and say high if you see a silly green mouse named Bumbletoes wandering around the pit! |

So sorry that some of your runs weren't the best. A bit of advise, do not go in with the first load or 2. This is where we have historically had the most problems. Also wait until right to start time to enter. You may even find a little better luck waiting till one of the last loads. That is where you may see 4-5 HW 50's standing back waiting on.
Good luck on the next runs, and we will look for him. KBB

Nice screenshot. So it was you that was helping out on that run... thanks a bunch. I doubt that we could have made it through the piefest without your toonups. Additional note... my son was DEVASTATED that we could not do a run last night (he is 6, by the way)... made more so because his mom misread the run schedule and thought that there was a 7:30 run (it was the CJ run). Needless to say, I expect that we will be in the pit at 8 tonight! Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, I will get a kick out of showing him this thread tonight. |

Welcome to the CCG! I'll watch for Bumbletoes as well. Sometimes the Toontown gods decree we all go back to the pg, but the true best chance of success is with the guidelines of the CCG. I've got to CFO more so I can get a stash of unites for toon-up. I have used all I got, so though it's frustrating to see people go sad, it isn't because we wouldn't have WANTED to use unites, sometimes we just don't have them. I'll also try to be more alert to see if anyone is yelling for help or "i need more laff".
Again...welcome to your family. |

A very warm welcome!
It's tough to hear of your trips back to the PG, but stick with the CCG. Before I was tipped off to the CCG, I got to know every blade of grass in DG personally. ![]() You can't do any better than CCG runs, there is no finer group of helpful toons. Before you know it, you'll be one of the HW's helping the new little toons! Hope to see you in the pit. Weird Harvey
