I copied the first post out of the Friday Victories thread because I think it's time to have the "CCG does NOT approve of using glitches in battle" discussion.
Here is a link to a discussion in the Cog forum. Note the poster is bragging that he was able to do the glitch. Others say it doesn't work right for them much of the time. Note...that even in the open forum, glitchers are NOT appreciated. If you want to practice your glitching...GO WITH FRIENDS who agree that it's okay to do it.

I can't believe this has been posted for 2 hours and nobody has replied. The first time I saw the "Walk in battle" glitch, I thought it was so cool. I was also already HW50/RB50 by then and had dealt with so many curveballs in battle that it wasn't a big deal. Since then, I've seen this glitch many times. Often as not, someone gets distracted by trying to figure out what's going on and they miss a gag selection. Also, if there is an open spot on one of the sides, the glitcher might "stick" on the opposite side. This causes the original side to have to let the clock tick down, and although there is a player there they never know if that person is going to pick a gag or not.
Sometime early last year, an uber had just gone sad in a VP (non-ccg). I was asked to help with a revenge run. Many of you know that if I'm able, I am happy to help on revenge runs when I can. We got through the cog round easy as pie. Then comes skel. The uber started running around! A friend of mine was also friends with him and kept telling him to knock it off but he kept saying it was no big deal. We had 7 on this revenge run and lo and behold, he got stuck on the other side. As a result of cogs hitting him from both sides, he went sad. We finished off that VP and I was asked to go in one more time. He "promised" not to glitch again so I agreed. This time the uber didn't move from his place, so I figured he learned his lesson. At one point, he whispered to me! I knew he was glitched and just not running around. I was furious that my generosity had been taken advantage of not once but twice! He danced in that vp. Good thing, because there was no way I'd do another. I've been glitched myself... by accident. Nobody had any idea because just as soon as I figured out what was going on, I made sure to keep my hands away from the arrow keys so I wouldn't move. To the people that say it's "no big deal," it sure is. It's distracting, especially to newer players. It's even distracting to me. One person's fun should not be at the expense of another person's fun.

The first time I ever saw the glitch was after a painfully long 5500 run. Remember the 21 or so factory runs for that one(before invasion districts)..ouch. Anyway, a friend of mine did it...in order to help the other side. Well we all started lagging....then started disconnecting one by one. He apologized, and said it does happen now and then. Still...even though it does look like a fun glitch...I have never attempted it. I really hate to see ppl trying it at the vp. Really distracts me.

I was never really bothered by this glitch until I took Pup into the VP for the second time several weeks ago. We had someone run around during the skele battle and it almost sent me back to the playground because it made it hard to figure out which gags to pick. I was already a bit nervous taking Pup in (my first uber), so it didn't take much to distract me. The toon doing the glitching would go for a completely different cog and when he jumped around in front of us it made gag selection very difficult. Now I am sure to yell "Stop that!" when someone starts running around because I know how upsetting it can be if you are new to the VP (even if it's just on a new toon).

Little Red Wagger was looking forward to the challenge of a four toon battle with the VP. I think BWK is right, we could have won with four! I did manage to defeat a few of the cogs before going sad. LRW doesnt have maxed gags, so he was running out of gags big enough to defeat middle range skeles, let alone the 11s and 12s. I didn't know where the other toon was and what he was doing.

I read this, this morning, but I haven't been feeling all that well.
I don't see any reason at all to glitch in the VP. It's distracting and very annoying. The last time I was in a VP and someone did that, they thought it was really fun and cool, but the side they were on (my side) 2 people were getting very upset, and asking them to please stop and saying that wasn't nice. I don't know if it was a CCG member or not that was doing it, but they sure weren't on anyone's happy list. |

Is this post a joke? I understand that we shouldn't get stuck on the other side but you seriously can't play right when someone glitches?? That is TOO funny! Um, do you forget how many fogs to use on 11's? Do you use all elephants on 9's? Forget to back up a cake on a lured 12? What if the phone rings or someone talks to you? Not exactly the multi-tasking type I guess, lol.

When someone glitches...I can't see their gag choice. What if I'm sounding on their lure? Yeah I think it's hilarious. Not. Last edited by bella lily; 12-31-2006 at 12:08 PM. Reason: none |

for all those who love to practice that glitch and who think that it doesn't mess up the battle - remeber:
"Walking in vp battle glitch" - is not only unpopular among CCG members , but is generally disliked and considered as annoying by most of TT players. Here's another discussion from the Open forums on the subject: glitch in VP! So, if ever you find this glitch cool: PLEASE DO THIS GLITCH ONLY WHEN ALL PARTICIPANTS OF THE RUN ARE YOUR FRIENDS - like it was adviced many many times.

i would say
Do the glitch as much as you want, IN NUTTY RIVER/SUMMIT i do that glitch alot because what if im stuck with toons that have 0 gags and are low laff and are just relying on me to toonup them and take care of them, with the glitch i can open my book and leave and keep my level 7 gags but in a ccg run, the rules state Glitching is NOT ALLOWED, so DO NOT DO IT! |

Did she mention that they almost lost one of their players because someone thought it cool to glitch in the VP? Yes. Did she say she didn't know what gag to pick on cogs? No. CCG runs aren't the place to glitch in battles. |

The question is: do glitchers even care about anyone else on the run and the time taken to get merits and level 7 gags before someone like them takes that all away? Keep in mind that when someone does something unnecessary, disruptive, and unwelcome, that someone watching has to think it's cool for it to BE cool. Consider that a group like CCG is holding a scheduled VP run for people who believe in teamwork and cooperation in a light district at a special time. It is a sanctuary for those who cannot get the chance in the heavy districts. Consider that because their runs are held in a light district, that non-members joining them have read about them here and are tired of shuffles and cheaters and griefers and glitchers. This isn't the place for inconsiderate toons who terrorize the green and red districts, and going into a run while the district is blue implies they have intentionally gone to the CCG meet to run with members. Even as a non-member - and there are plenty of nonmembers who are regulars - this means that they share CCG's philosophies and intentions and have sought them out for a decent run... ...Or to grief people who deliberately set an out of the way place to run without that junk. So yes, this is a very valid thread. As someone suggested: if someone wants to glitch: go mess them up in NR or NS. Even better: find 7 other glitching friends and just do it.
