Huh? Ok you have me a little confused Lucy dear.
You saying you HAVE IE 7 installed while you were having these problems? When you updated, what did you update? IE 7? To what? IE 8? ![]() Or did you just install some updates from the Windows Update site? I know Microsoft released some security updates on Tuesday. Or are you even saying you had IE 6 while having these problems then upgraded to IE 7 and now the problems are gone? lol Will be difficult not to switch to IE 7. Hard to avoid it. Microsoft sooner or later will force you to.

Sooooo.... Stick with IE 6 for now while you can, and when Microsoft makes you update (as you so aptly pointed out) perhaps they will have even more bugs worked out of it. The report as of today is to avoid IE 7 for now. And of course, this is all just my suggestion and my report of what worked for me... I am not an IT guy (gal), so all I can report on in what I've heard and what I've tried. Hubby's company's IT guy did recommend that no one update to IE 7 for now... and this is a HUGE international company. Do what you want with that bit of info. (I'm just trying to help! Sheesh!) |

could it be live messenger?
I have been discoed few times last few days.. on two pc's and all my internet apps go offline.. Then I close TT window and see windows live "had problems and had to close " or what not. .and if I want to send a report.
Once i switched windows live off.. no problems. So yes, some of the win updates recently are buggy , but .. what else is new? |

Interesting?!
I still have IE6.0. It is the base program my browser uses as my browser is Secure IE along with Private IE, a personal information protector. I have a life time license to that browser. I have had no problems and it has the same tabs that IE7.0 is proposing as being so new. I don't ever intend to upgrade to IE7.0 as I know Secure IE will update its program to the base of any IE browser available.
I must admit that I did download IE7.0 and ran it but it doesn't overwrite IE6.0 as it was placed in a separate folder from IE6.0, at least, on my computer so removing it didn't affect anything I was already using. I, also, have no problems with disconnection that is browser based to my knowledge as all my disconnects are usually from Disney's servers, probably their issue, not mine, as everyone gets those dreaded messages, 'Your computer was unexpectedly disconnected from the Toontown server. You can easily reconnect by clicking on 'PLAY' from Toontown's home screen.' I don't change too easily anyway, but good luck to everyone going with IE7.0. I'm not saving it is good nor bad, just that I'll stick with Secure IE. It works good. Deputy Dynowoof |

My friend had issues with her ActiveX settings changed - happened when the gags upgraded. She started crashing out of the game.
Found out something on the site about the proper Active X settings and voila! I have IE5.5. Me stable as a table. btw our IT didnt want SP2 on our computers at work. Nice IT. Niiice IT.

That's exactly what's been happening to me the past several days! Stupid question - what did you do, and how exactly do you do it? Thanks!

I'm running IE7 with no important update(at least to my knowledge) and I have absolutely no problem with my connectivity(I really never have, except when my dad started using a router, which we had to throw away because it broke. Go figure.) I personally use firefox for everything internet except for TT.

I work for a very large hardware/software company and IT has put a block on that prevents the installation of IE7. That's probably not a good sign for the quality of IE7.
I upgraded toIE7 at home on the machine thatI use for TT. At first it wouldn't run at all. I had to lower the default security setting to use TT. After doing that I haven't had any problems. Last edited by Good Ol Slumpy; 11-17-2006 at 01:05 PM. Reason: typo |

An aside: An important lesson in this is: TT problems are sometime Disney's fault, but also sometimes Microsoft's fault! My latest problem was fixed without any help from Disney. AND THEY NEVER OFFERED ANY, BTW, when I emailed them. HMPH! |

The reason companies are putting a block on IE7 isn't necessarily because it is buggy.
My company modifies the standard ie quite a bit - it blocks most pop-ups and the most annoying ads, it has a site filter built in, it severely limits the types of files we can download, and any https sites tend to mess with our security filters - so the way we access these is also tweaked. So some of the hesistency to upgrade to IE7 might be not only bugs, but the time to recode the modifications properly. This time around my company has provided us with a patch so IE7 isn't automatically loaded onto our home PCs - because the way in which we can remotely access work (Citrix) doesn't work properly with IE7 yet! [And for similar reasons that some have problems with TT it seems - the default security options in IE7 are apparently different than in IE6 - and so like Lucy Lu says, you might have to change them for TT to work] |
