Red face I think I'm ready to try CFO...

I'm not very confident.....Never even saw this done......But I've read all the help and guide topics I could find and understand what will happen.

The times are weird for me, one is baby's waking up from nap time, one is home from school/doing homework with kids time, and one is putting kids to bed time, so Idon't think you'll see my duck on a run until this weekend (Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday) and even then I may chicken (duck?) out because my father will be here visiting and I can use it as an excuse ("Didn't make CFO because we went out for dinner!"), but I"m pretty ready to go.

Just two questions....Am I OK there with 87 laff? And, which should I start on if I'm left to choose: Stomping or craning?

You will do great! I think I was around your same laff when Diz first went to cfo. It all happened so fast it was a blur. I somehow managed to get on a vator with some excellent craners and I was more than happy to let them crane... I think the whole crane fight lasted 3 minutes. I even posted something about, "If that's all there is to it, what's the big deal?" LOL!

Personally, I stomped my first chance going in. I think most people do. The crane takes some time getting used to and if you do choose to try the crane, please don't throw any safes at all until you are comfortable with the timing. Just pick up goons and keep chucking them at the cfo, even while others are throwing safes. I chose to stomp because since I'd stomped some goons before (warehouse and mint) it was something I was familiar with in unfamiliar territory. I think I was a bean counter the first time I tried the crane... some people start sooner and some people still don't crane even if they have a RB50. It is whatever you are comfortable with.

I read the strategy before I went... I remember thinking to myself that I was somehow going to end up in this "junkyard" with cranes around to pick up salvage and move it around and I just couldn't imagine how that was going to defeat the CFO.

The cranes really don't look like cranes at all... really there are 4 podiums, one in each corner, with a magnet on a cable above them. When you walk up to the podium you will be on the crane and your view will switch to an overhead view. The view was enough to make me hesitant to jump on a crane again. You will be in a square room and the CFO is in the center of the room. Goons come out of his doors (same doors like you throw pies into in vp) and the stompers stomp on the goons to disable them. Craners then pick up those disabled goons (advanced craners can pick up live goons but it's tricky) and throw them at the cfo. When he is dizzy you can throw safes but only when he is dizzy.

As for the cog round, there is no break like in vp and you have the same 4 players on each side throughout.

A word of advice... just like in vp, wait a bit before you board. Try to board with at least one Robber Baron if you can but it's not always necessary. If at all possible, find someone you trust out on the porch and whisper to them, "Have you been here before? No. I'm SO scared!" A seasoned player will recognize that you mean it and will most likely try to board with you. I know that if someone whispers that to me I do my very best to board with them and will typically stand right next to them even on the porch.

You will do great, Trixie! Best of luck!

If you have your suit and you've read the strategy guide, you're good as gold in my book. I'd be happy to join you. Scooter is maxxed and can go any time. I usually play quite a bit on Friday night so just say where and when and I'll do my best to be there.

As far as whether to crane or stomp, I'm not sure which to recommend. Good craners can end the CFO battle rather quickly, but they have to have some stompers to disable those goonies. If your computer lags a bit then stomping could end up causing you to take some major goon damage. I think I would recommend craning, but only to throw goons til you get the hang of it.

Best of luck and don't stress about the CFO he's really a big sissy

Her gags are unimportant. If she can defeat the vp she can easily defeat the cog round in cfo.

YAY!!! A new CFO fighter!!!
Listen, if you need some help, I think I have a slot open on my toon monkey power and we can be sf's if you'd like. I know it helps when you've got someone to talk to. I just finished her first 8900 bucks so she's ready to go.
Also, at 87 laff - don't get too low on laff where you'll be running rampant looking for treasures. Keep yourself at a comfortable laff. The red hat goons take about 20+ off.

Go for it! My friend (although she already had 2 maxed cfo toons), got her toon from less than 80laff all the way up to a robber baron.

I suggest going with stomping goons and watching how the craners work before using a crane. But, if you've read a lot and feel like you could crane without giving him safes for helmets, you should try that.

But, don't wait until the weekend and stuff....CFO usually goes really well late at night. And if you PM me with a time you are going, I will meet you there if I am availble.

I agree wit Danny...They should have atleast those gags or atleast have elephant for sound, as long as you know how to use your gags I think you'll do fine.

You certainly do have every right to your opinion, but this is the CCG where we don't even look at such things.

Trixie has a suit, so she is ready to CFO! Hope to see you there - have fun!

For each gag track these are in my opinion what you should have before you try and CFO:

Toonup- Dancing Cane
Trap- Quick Sand
Lure- Big Magnet(I'd rather you have Goggles or 10 Dollar bill but this is ok)
Sound- Fog
Throw- Cake
Squirt- Cloud
Drop- 100 ton

Thats not asking for to much, mose of those gags are easy to get. I know alot of ppl wont agree, but thats my opinion and no ones gonna change that.

It is not likely that anyone will even have a cash suit without having these gags. Fog is also not necessary because I've done 4 man cfos with a toon along that was either soundless or had only up to ele. As for the level of cogs, the cog levels are the same but there are just more of them. Not enough to make a difference on a full load.

Since this thread is in the CCG forum, why would you then ask about her gags? You are right, the CCG is very different. We have no prerequisites besides a suit.

I guess I'm not sure why you asked Trixie to tell you hers, then, since this is CCG and you don't care.

Trixie, you've gotten some good tips here and hopefully some encouragement! I can't wait to hear about your first victory!
