What the IT guys don't live there? They should be there *all* the time in case of "emergencies" like this! Heehee. Now I might have to mop floors or something terrible once the kids are all in bed. Ugh.

Nah they figure we all need new graphics cards and more RAM.

Figure the UK BST is 8 hrs later than California Pacific Daylight Time. It's almost 5pm in Cal at this posting.

As popular as ToonTown is I am surprised that it has never been targeted for a denial of service attack. If it is a DOS then it is not ToonTowns fault.

I have been been away from TT for about a month and was hoping to play through some CCG runs tonight and tomorrow. Let's hope it is just a glitch and not serious.

the real problem will come when the servers are reinstated, it'll be flooded with demand and may crash again,

also all the people trying to access the service just now will be causing added problems to the IT staff,

TTC had a DDOS attack today too. Most of those 900 were guests.
However, I tracked the outage to a particular IP but I couldn't determine what that IP was, whether it was a backbone router or it was an actual Disney machine.

It defintely isn't one of the TT servers.

Hrm, I know Disney servers are in different places but some of them are still up... some of the resort servers are just fine, but the game and TV servers all seem to be trashed, or at least inaccessible.

interesting,

most likely to be a backbone router, perhaps something like JANet which primarily sends info accross the atlantic backbone,

there is a good chance alot of people googled toontown after it crashed and ended up here

out of interest, any idea if the disney toontown servers hosted in the same exchange as the webpage servers for disney,?

if they are that would strike me as being incredibly foolish on their part

who would want to DDOS disney?

EDIT : I'm off to bed, giving up on TT for tonight, no point in me being awake at silly o'clock in the morning when i have work in 6 hours!

When toontown.com is down most people get redirected to this site by some of the search engines and browsers.

From my records we have not been attacked, the server just can't handle this many people on at the same time.
