Censorship
I discovered an interesting word that is censored by ToonTown.
The word is "Phone" Found out because I had to go AFK to answer the lovely ringing summons, came back and my group was ****ed at me because thy hadn't seen me say "AFK, phone" Have you noticed any other non-obscenities that are censored?

"Phone" makes sense to censor. It would help in getting around the filter preventing phone numbers from being sent. Imagine if someone said:
"Phone won, fife won nein, tree fife won, ate ate ate ate" That's my Fax number. It's impossible to prevent this altogether, but getting rid of "Phone" makes it a bit more obscure. I bet that "Address" is also blocked. -rcv- Kid Bugs hmmm, where are all these faxes coming from? |

I noticed the word...
Boo Boo was not coming up when I tried to type it by itself.
I kept asking and asking. Finally said can you see this? Boo Boo? I was told no I dont see anything. I was trying to ask someone if they knew Miss Boo Boo Purpletoes, but was leaving off the Miss & Purpletoes part to shorten typing and it didn't show up to them. I could see it fine. no one else could. Why would Boo Boo be filtered when it is one of their name choices? |

My guess would be the Boo B part, even with a space, isn't supposed to be typed by people though it IS a part of one of their name choices.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, the word 'amusement' is censored. However, if you type 'amuse ment' (with a space) it shows up. This one is because of the internal word that starts with the 's' and ends with the 'n.'
It took awhile to figure why 'amusement' would be censored, after all isn't Disneyland an 'amusement park?'. Zontars

amusement is censored for a very specific reason..

ok, I must be slow. I don't get why amusement or boo boo are censored.
Dy and I played with this a little yesterday and discovered you can get passed the "phone" censor by using "tele" instead. I can't believe how many times I must have looked dumb when I said "sorry, phone rang" or "called boo boo to see if she wanted to come help" Guess that will teach me to be lazy with your name Miss Boo Boo Purpletoes. Could also explain an abundance of toons at the door when you show up if nobody else knew you were being called. lol Oh, and for the really daring, you can type a space between each letter and it shows. Also, not only does it censor the word, it censors the whole sentence with the word in it. |

Semantics
Amusement park, theme park...what's the difference?
Roller coasters, rides, games, crummy food, expensive admissions, sore feet...don't they both have that? Is it a theme park just because there are giant characters walking around or is it a theme park because it's got "Disney" in the name? Can you not be amused at a theme park or have a theme at an amusement park? Seems like two ways to describe the same thing. How about a "we-are-not-amused-park"? Zontars
