My Opinion on TT|Saying my Good Byes

I wonder about Disney sometimes. In my opinion, I don’t believe Toontown has anything to do with other games related to Disney. I think Toontown is like a McDonalds. McDonalds is only a trademark franchise which has benefits of having the food shipped to each one. Of course this will cost them money but they make more sense its fast food. So basically the developers of Toontown asked Disney if they can use the Disney animation/trademark into making a game for people to play online because the multiplayer business is booming. Of course they pay Disney to do this. It was a good idea that they made the game more users friendly to kids. No multiplayer games were released to focus on the younger people. Was a smart idea because they know they will get their parents to buy it. Even get their parents to play it. So I believe that’s why it cost money per month. Also the reason why they don’t update much. They want the game to last as long as possible. This is also why we have no in game help. In game help equals more people to pay. I do know they have all the Cog HQ’s/Playgrounds done. They will not release it until they feel like it. I also realize they lack in upgrading problems. They won’t fix anything because they do not have to. They will on the other hand fix anything if they find a lot of people leaving the game. Look how long it took them to fix the juggling balls lol. They will not fix the graphics to make the game more entertaining. The cogs use a golf club and attack threw each others legs. I have complained about this but no fixes. You can’t tell me that that isn’t a problem lol. If you take a look at the main website and look at the items you can buy. You will nodice the banner is badly pixilated like they grabbed the toons and pasted them in using paint program or something.

Think about the catalog? How high will it go before they repeat themselves?

Do you wonder about the lag you’re having while VP/CFO or even at a Cog HQ/Playground?
I’ve played a lot of multiplayer games with even more then this many people. Disney is the blame with this not you. Unless your computer is slow then it isn’t Toontown fault. Toontown servers have problems maintaining the amount of people per district. A district being a server linked to a master computer. They really need to put a limit on how many people can go to a district. This will fix the lag per district. Unless they plain to upgrade their servers to support faster gamming qualities.

To those people who miss the ‘Marry-go round.’
That caused a lot of lag for the servers of Toontown. One of the reasons why it’s around no more.

Sellbot/Cashbot merit system.
Big time way to make you play the game for months at a time. This right here will supposal entertain you even though you’re bored out of your mind.

Laff boost
One LP boost is really stupid. I don’t see the point in someone having 105LP and someone having 117. Besides the fact you can take a few more damage isn’t going to help you at all. I’d have to say a +5 Boost per Cog suit/fish would be more efficient and worth working at.

Top Toons of the month.
They get a stinking cup/cap/poster/shirt.
I know someone on TT that said he got a cap for this and tossed it in the garbage lol.

NPC’s
They need to enhance their visual quality. I don’t know if this is still there but Mickey Mouse has/had a tail and Minnie dose not.

Invasions
Big problem with toons working on tasks!
They seriously need to make Welcome Valley the anti invasion zone.

Please note that this is my opinion. If you’re butt hurt by it don’t post.

This is also my last month of Toontown so I’m posting what I think of the major problems of this game during my past experience with this game. Also about my opinion on the developers.

I’m not quitting because I don’t like the game. I’m quitting because I’m joining the Army and have no time for this game anymore. I do on the other hand enjoy playing it and had fun. I never did hit the max limit in this game but did try as much as I could. So everyone that I know on Toontown/TTC I would like to say my good byes on Toontown. I will on the other hand be playing it every now and then until next month or when it won’t let me log in. I should be leaving around August or whenever they give me my due point.

Yes, it is stupid that they give you boost for a cog suit. It will never save you, it is just for highly low lifes to brag about all day.

It has gotten boring to me, too. I'm so sick of the factory. And when I get the washroom key, then all I have to look forward to is getting cashbucks. Blah! Why do I keep playing this game?

I really have no opinion on the main point of your post, though I am sorry toontown is losing a toon
But I do want to commend you on joining the army. I have many family members that have served and one family member who is currently enrolled (stationed at fort camble (sp?) KY). I wish you all the luck in the world in your new career.

I don't know about getting bored of the game (still on first toon) but I've met many wonderful people that keep the game fresh for me.

It's not just the game, there are other people filling it, too.

Lots of good points there,
especially that laff boost thing, consider the hours spent ( my hubby is currently boring himself to tears doing 5500 merits for the level 40 Holly and one point boost) to get it, one measly point won't make much difference. Only once or twice have I left a battle with a few points left.
The point if more for status I guess, we know how many runs go into that point. Of course it only proves that the higher toons can deal with boredom more than others Lol.

We've been playing a few other online mulitplayer games too and it's true about the lag, it does seem to be only in Toontown. I've been wondering about that too since up until a few months ago I hadn't played any other games, now out of 4 that we have, only Toontown has lag.

Good post.

noticed

I noticed that toontown only brings out a new cog hq when people send many letters complaining that they are waiting too long and that they might quit. They bring out the hq's to keep the complaints down for awhile(and to bring in profit) until people start to complain again and then they create more junk.

I won't comment on most of your post but I will make two comments.

1. Lag due to too many people in one server is not Disneys fault. It is a problem we create ourselves. There is no need for 800+ people in one district when all of the others have 120-150. Disney has plenty of horsepower for the number of subscribers. When Disney gave us the ability to freely move among districts, some of the blame has to go to us. It is only the busiest districts that have the problem. The other option is for Disney to limit the number of toons in a district, and I am sure that people would complain about that when they couldn't TP to a friend for that vp or CFO run.

2. Yea, Disney is out to make money. It is their responsibility to do that for their employees and stockholders. Toontown is entertainment. An annual subscriotion is about $6.67 per month. That is the cost of a matinee movie that lasts MAYBE 2 hours (and let's not talk about the price of concessions). For $6.67 per MONTH my whole family gets about 50 hours a WEEK of entertainment that works out to about 3 CENTS an hour. That is pretty cheap entertainment for our family. so YES, Disney is making money, but there is enough VALUE to our family that makes it a win-win situation for both parties.
