OMG! i had never thought about that. it all makes sence. im not makeing fun of you. i really did,t think about it that way. but when you think about that its almost all true. at least what you can prove. but all the ideas make since. normally i find markting stagitys like this right away. i never thought of tt as the hugh markting scam it is. i would like to congratulate them on their wonderful money makeing ideas. this is such a part of corprate americur.
btw, magic dragon, im really sorry about that thing that happened to you. the army, oh thats rough. joining the army. wow someone must have hit you really really hard. with a shovel. repeditavily. for a long time. Last edited by Batleth; 06-20-2005 at 09:13 PM. Reason: no cursing on post! |

Yes, it is stupid that they give you boost for a cog suit. It will never save you, it is just for highly low lifes to brag about all day.

I really have no opinion on the main point of your post, though I am sorry toontown is losing a toon
But I do want to commend you on joining the army. I have many family members that have served and one family member who is currently enrolled (stationed at fort camble (sp?) KY). I wish you all the luck in the world in your new career. |

Lots of good points there,
especially that laff boost thing, consider the hours spent ( my hubby is currently boring himself to tears doing 5500 merits for the level 40 Holly and one point boost) to get it, one measly point won't make much difference. Only once or twice have I left a battle with a few points left. The point if more for status I guess, we know how many runs go into that point. Of course it only proves that the higher toons can deal with boredom more than others Lol. We've been playing a few other online mulitplayer games too and it's true about the lag, it does seem to be only in Toontown. I've been wondering about that too since up until a few months ago I hadn't played any other games, now out of 4 that we have, only Toontown has lag. Good post. ![]()

noticed
I noticed that toontown only brings out a new cog hq when people send many letters complaining that they are waiting too long and that they might quit. They bring out the hq's to keep the complaints down for awhile(and to bring in profit) until people start to complain again and then they create more junk.

I won't comment on most of your post but I will make two comments.
1. Lag due to too many people in one server is not Disneys fault. It is a problem we create ourselves. There is no need for 800+ people in one district when all of the others have 120-150. Disney has plenty of horsepower for the number of subscribers. When Disney gave us the ability to freely move among districts, some of the blame has to go to us. It is only the busiest districts that have the problem. The other option is for Disney to limit the number of toons in a district, and I am sure that people would complain about that when they couldn't TP to a friend for that vp or CFO run. 2. Yea, Disney is out to make money. It is their responsibility to do that for their employees and stockholders. Toontown is entertainment. An annual subscriotion is about $6.67 per month. That is the cost of a matinee movie that lasts MAYBE 2 hours (and let's not talk about the price of concessions). For $6.67 per MONTH my whole family gets about 50 hours a WEEK of entertainment that works out to about 3 CENTS an hour. That is pretty cheap entertainment for our family. so YES, Disney is making money, but there is enough VALUE to our family that makes it a win-win situation for both parties.
