Sound when used properly is great. It's great when used in numbers. As a single player using sound, it's pretty much useless. Unless of couse your using it to push all the cogs back, or you have all the cog hits calculated, and you know it will take out the remainder of the cogs that are left after a multiplayer lure/trap. Some toons can calculate it perfectly. I love to watch a multiplayer lure/trap, and see one of the toons finish of all the cogs with one sound gag.
If you get it, remember that you can level up sound just as quick against one cog, as you can by tooting at several at a time. The first several levels of sound do practically nothing against big cogs. Read the players guide, it provides very good info about sound. The Twiddlesnout Family |

Be aware that if you attack a line of cogs, they are more likely to attack you than another toon who hasn't attacked them.

Two Special Things About Sound
1.) Sound gags hit all of the cogs that are in battle (up to four at a time)
2.) Sound gags rarely miss (though they do miss once in a while) Sound is both the least and most powerful gag. It does very little damage compared to other gags. It starts at 4 points for the bike horn (not enough to kill a level 1 cog) and reaches just 50 damage for a maxed foghorn (enough to kill a level 5 cog). Consider, though, that it has the potential to hit four cogs at once, so a toon can really do 4 x 50 or 200 damage to a group of cogs - more combined damage than any other single gag. A toon with a maxed foghorn can single-handedly wipe out a group of four level 5 cogs with one blast. When more than one toon has sound, the damage starts to add up. Two toons with max foghorns can take out a row of level 9 cogs; three can take out four level 11 cogs with one blast. Four toons with max foghorn can take out four level 14 cogs (if they ever exist). The flip side is that even a small sound hits every cog, so if you use sound on lured cogs, all of the cogs will drop back in line and attack. (NOTE: You won't make many friends this way.) Have to admit, I've never been through a building faster than when there are four toons with a tendancy to use sound.
