There is another street guide lower down on the homepage, it's the one I use.
As for why the other one is gone...dunno. Perhaps there was something on the site that had it TTC didn't like?

The street guide was NOT removed at my request. I never told anyone to remove the street guide. However, posting the LINK to the site is against the guidelines, so yes, I asked him to remove the LINK, but I never told him to remove the street guide. While it is a good site, I have to be fair to everyone and if I tell one person they cannot advertise their personal websites or forums, I have to tell EVERYONE that. You can still find Sander's street guide by looking at his homepage in his profile.

I'm confused.
Why is it on the homepage here then...it looks like the admins wanted to use it for the street guide here....the link isn't in her sig, it's on this site so it must have been put there by Nick or -rcv-.
Can she change it so it just links to the guide and not the her site? I thought that's the way it was before.....

No, Sanderdolphin made up his OWN streeet guide and had it in his signature to go to his own website to look at it. It's not the same as the one we have here.

No, go to the homepage and click on the street guide in the box on the left hand side of the homepage...it's the same guide..
I use the old one at the bottom because I'm used to it, but the new one is the one SanderDolphin made.

Yeah the other day I clicked on street guilde and it took me to his page. But his page looked EXACTLY like TTC. Now I click on it and it says :

Quote:
We have been asked by Bunny Summers to remove our links from Toontown Central.

Since we have no control over the link to [our site] from the Main Menu of Toontown Central, we have instead had to place this page instead.

Our apologies for any inconvinience caused.

SanderDolphin
Now I can understand the LINK being in the SIGNATURE. BUt what was wrong with it being on the main page link?

I click on the "SanderDolphin" link on the bottom and it takes me to his page and its all blue (which I liked the TTC design).

I kinda like it being on his page (liked from TTC) because if TTC is having issues with bandwidth its not connected to the site when I need it most.

PS: SanderDolphin, I know its kinda irrelevent, but could you do the DDL street? I want to make a binder with all the maps. I could do that now... But without DDL it seems... Incomplete

If Nick or -rcv- put it in the main menu on the homepage here then the street guide is fine...when I clicked on the homepage link it took me directly to the street guide.

I guess and understandably so, SanderDolphin put the link in her sig figuring it was fine since it was on the homepage main menu.

If she takes the link out of her sig can she put the page back up so the main menu link still takes us to that street guide?
The old street guide here has never been updated, I guess that's why it's fallen to the bottom of the homepage.

I don't see any problem with it, if Nick and -rcv- said it was "Ok" then why does Bunny Summers think it's not? It's not advertising at all.. I don't think. I think SanderDolphin should be able to have it because the 2 largest leaders here said it was ok. Well I am not sure about everything... I just think it would be ok for SanderDolphin to have it kept up!

Yes, the street guide on the homepage was made by KB aka -rcv-. That one is fine. He didn't link to THAT one. He linked to one that was off-site and was not okayed by Nick. It's not the same guide. Look, I merely asked him to NOT post the link, rather tell people to look in his profile for the link. We do not allow anyone, even myself, to link off of this site unless it's okayed with Nick or -rcv- first, like the Cold Callers Guild did. Nick didn't ok the link and while I appreciate the work SanderDolphin did, it still doesn't negate the fact that Nick didn't say it was ok to link offsite. I asked -rcv- about the link on his Street Guide thread and he said to go ahead and remove the link because it was in violation of the guidelines, which I did. However, if Sanderdolphin wishes to use Toontowncentral.com to host his updated guide, he's more than welcome to bring that up with -rcv-. If he doesn't want to, he doesn't have to. And the only reason Groffy has a problem with it is because he had the same issues.

And the reason we allow you to put it in your profile is because people who aren't registered, cannot view member's profiles, whereas they CAN read the forum, so if it's in a signature or in a post, that gives a lot of people access to your website and a lot of access to our younger member base, which is something we want to try to do: keep kids on this site safe.

And no, I never once asked him to remove anything from his site. Not once. I mean, what right would I have to ask you to do anything to your own site. Totally untrue. I asked him to remove the link to his homepage from the thread he created and his signature on THIS site. He may have been upset with my request and THOUGHT that's what I meant, but it's not what I said. But if he wants to remove the links to Toontowncentral.com from his site, that's his perrogative. But I didn't ask him to do that.

My Mood:
Bunny I'm not questioning the sites policies.
I feel like we still aren't talking about the same thing....

One the homepage, the one on the Main Menu linked to SanderDolphins new street guide.
Underneath there under Strategy and Tactics Guide (old) is the old street guide that I usually use.

Sander Dolphin could not have linked her site to this sites homepage, only the board owner can do that, or someone like an admin who has access.
Was that link there and SanderDolphin didn't know?

I can see no sig link but saying that sanderdolphin was doing something wrong? I'm a bit confused.
The street guide in this attachment is the one I'm talking about, it links to SD's street guide ( well not anymore)....
Is that where we are confused....a long time ago when I first clicked on the link in the main menu it went to SD's new street guide. It always has..the only people that could change where it links to is an admin....
Unless the SD made the url go to the site instead of just the guide?
Unless I'm still missing something. Lol.

Oooops did it again...Sally Kat here, forgot my son was logged in.

So... It's ok for him to link the street guide on the front page "Street Guide" but not ok for him to put in his signature correct? And Im assuming he got confused with your request and removed it from both locations. Hence the "request from Bunny Summers" thing when you click "Street Guide" from the front page.

Am I understanding this correctly? If so, I hope he realizes that and puts it back on the front page.

I actualy like the idea that the street guide is hosted on another host off of toontowncentral.com so he can update it, and when TTC has bandwidth issues (thats happened a couple of times) it doesnt affect the street guide when I need it ^_^.

There was a link in his signature which led to his site and not the home page of Toontowncentral.com and I did ask him to remove that link and from the thread. I did not ask him to remove it from the front page, nor did I ask him to remove anything from his site. He made a second thread stating he updated his website with the doodles, and really it should've been kept on the same thread that he previously had. The moderators/admin of the site will discuss the other link on the front page and Sanderdolphin will be made aware of what was decided via PM. Plus, he originally had the street guide on one particular site, and it was changed. Hopefully, he okayed the second url with Nick, too.
