Unhappy TT is also in Canada, Disney!

I'm not verry happy about TT having July 4th items and having the summer fireworks renamed the July 4th fireworks(even if they go from July 1st to 16th)
News flash Disney! TT not only is offered in Canada (and pretty much everywhere around the world) but you offer the TT mailings in Canada. toontown.com is pretty much the US/Canada access point for TT. Please, to be equal, offer Canada Day (July 1st) stuff too or, even better, no special items at at all.

Small price to pay for sharing in the American Dream? It's part of what Disneyland was all about... sharing that essence with the world (nevermind how conceited that may seem... it was an innocent vision at the beginning).

I'm fairly certain that Toontown will feature highlights from other cultures eventually, but come on, you can't expect them to celebrate every observance from every country. Disney is based in America, and however much others may dislike that, the only thing that might change it is the cheap sweatshop labor offered abroad (LOL).

Yes, but the SUMMER fireworks are now the July 4th fireworks, even if they go from Canada day to July 16th.
And as TT is offered around the world or at least also in Canada on toontown.com, they shouldn't offer July 4th items but, maybe, summer items that include US items.
And trust me, Canada payed much more than a small price on many fronts to follow an American Dream.

when we lived in Germany, we never got fireworks on the 4th (not our country so not considered polite), so we enjoyed the fireworks whenever we could , which was new years, and whenever a certain town might be having a festival. we did not complain, because we were visiting.
BUT...if disney ever puts a theme park in Canada (which would be really cool, no pun intended), then they should have fireworks for st george's day, or whatever holiday they celebrate with fireworks, and US visitors should not complain!
when in Rome, etc.

having never been in EUroDisney or Disney in Japan...what do they do there?
do they have Main STreets? do they do fireworks?
i personally would love going to a Disney park in Canada....not too far to travel, and there's so much neat stuff to do in Canada, so maybe a park there would help tourism. Except for ONCE i would like it in the middle of the continent, like Alberta or Saskatchewan. No more of this coastal stuff!

just to clear this up, TT is on a different server for other countries so they most likely wont be having the fireworks. Thats just a guess of course. It would seem silly to me that while very few Americans play the Japanese TT that there would be fire works celebrating an American holiday.

As for the fireworks, there really isn't any point in arguing or complaining about them. They have already been scheduled. Just do your best to enjoy them. I'm sure you'll manage just fine

No,No. I'm extreamly happy there are fireworks but as they go from july 1st to july 16th, why are they called July 4th fireworks and not Summer fireworks

Simple.

Disney is a company founded and based in the United States of America.

The United States of America celebrates its declaration of independence from British rule on July 4th.

If Disney were a Canadian company, they'd probably set up celebrations for Canada Day, and any US Citizens would be confused.

But since you're a Canadian visiting a game based in the States, you get to be confused.

I haven't paid attention to the Japanese version, but the United Kingdom version certainly IS played on exactly the same servers - that has been demonstrated already. So they get the "American Dream" too.

It's Disney, it's USA, it is what the game is about.

When the cogs walk on the left of the road and the footpaths and lifts are given their proper names, then I expect we will also see significant non-USA cultural events celebrated. Crikey, they just ignored the Queen's birthday! What could have been more significant than that in the UK?

Nobody's confused Lol.
Although Disney is American, we do celebrate many close holidays...the July 1/July 4 thing being one of them. Yeah it would be nice but I really don't expect it.
I do think however, if it was the other way around, that Canada would acknowledge the American holiday.

Gosh, it doesn't matter to me what the fireworks are called. They're fireworks, they aren't words. I don't think Toontown will be prefacing each hourly show with some big "Go USA" speech. But it might be nice of them to offer both "Happy 4th of July!" AND "Happy Canada Day!" SpeedChat phrases in the cattlelogs. (Sort of like how they offered different phrases for the various December holidays).

Why?

I've been in Canada over the first week in July. They celebrate Canada Day. Now granted, since they're deluged with US Television, they hear a lot more about US Holidays than we do about theirs, but still - why would one independent nation celebrate a holiday local to another independent nation?

And by extention, why would a company based IN one country celebrate a holiday based in another country?

Nooooonononono.
That's not what I meant. I meant if Disney was Canadian and made Toontown they would acknowledge the American holiday in the GAME.
Of course we don't celebrate American holidays, but in an online game I think we would.
** ooo that one almost hit me**

Oh and Pudgey, we celebrate the Queen's birthday here too, Victoria Day, or the May 24 long weekend as so many call it.
Do they call it Victoria Day in Australia too?

toontown is not played around the world, before the UK and japan servers only US, canada, and anyone who could supply a US mailing address could play. However Id like it if we could celebrate other countries holidays, Id like a party every day, but its probably not gonna happen. Remember disney is based in the US and so are the developers and programers.
