Why Have Toon-Up when You Won't Use It?!?

Okay, I was helping my friend with a toontask with Bossbots. They were about 50 laff. I helped them a lot, I toon-uped them everytime when needed!

I understand one toon didn't have toon-up. We were on the last floor. I was gonna get sad with about 14 laff left. Before I went to the last floor, I check my other friend's stats. He had toon-up! Then, I kept saying to use toon-up! He didnt listen but he just attacked.

I didn't want to get sad so I exited out (I have Toontown Windowed).

This makes me mad!

I don't get why he didn't just get sound. I remember when i was in a 5-story building with 3 other people all 3 were sfs. I was acting kinda rude because i was in a bad mood and they purposely let me die! lol! I deserved it though!

If I'm in a party where I'm the only one with toon-up, I won't toon them up as a
general rule until it becomes critical. You gasp? Actually the reason is a logical
one. First of all, if I toon the others, I'll be the only toon going sad (this happens
all too many times). Second, if I use attack gags with the other toons, we'll
finish the battle faster with less need for toonup.

Edit: Ok, I see that Loosy means that the other toon effectively didn't have TU.

I generally find when I'm in that situation, which is rare, that if you're the one tooning up then you don't get attacked much anyway.
I just can't let a toon go sad, it's most likely a kid, must be the Momma-Bear in me Lol.

I agree with Loosy. I use toonup quite sparingly. It really annoys me to see a fairy dust being wasted on restoring 10 points. Of course it depends on the laff tho. If it's a tough situation and I'm not sure if I should toon or not, I try to work out if the other toon(s) will make it through the next round assuming they are the ones to get attacked. And then try and balance that by working out how many cogs will be left to attack and which toon they will go for. Like I could use sound so that the attacks are more likely to get directed at me. It's all rather complicated and sometimes I do get it wrong.

Yay! I like when people talk about their actual thought processes behind things, because I enjoy to see how different people approach problems.

One of the few things in the game that drives me absolutely nuts is when a 60-point toon takes 15 points of damage and starts with the "I need a toonup". I bought the phrase "Hang in there" specifically for those toons, actually. I tend to save tooning up until it's worth not only the capacity of the toonup gag I'm going to use, but also the loss of the action I'd otherwise be taking - luring or breaking things with sound/drop. Some players don't seem to get that it's more useful for me to lure (or throw, or sound, or whatever) than it is for me to toon them up, only to have another round of cog attacks cut them to pieces all over again.

I have internal rules, too. If I sound the cogs, will they attack just me, or do many of them have AoE attacks? If I toon up the hurt toon, will they be able to lure or kill? Have they been sounding my lures, making it useless for me to try to lure in the first place? Honestly, in some buildings, I've ended up just blowing out all my toonup gags after seeing that the other toon is determined to get himself killed anyway, knowing that I might as well get some toonup skill points going while I can.

Anyway, assuming I'm not on test (where I use and abuse my toonup as much as possible since I don't get to work it much, there being an average of 3.2 players on the server at any given time), I reserve toonup until it will do some good and/or I'm free to use it without ensuring I'll have to use it next round too. And the round after that. And the round after that...

I didn't ask for a toon-up when I had 10-20 laff gone. I asked like after I lost 30-half of my laff gone!! I told him to give me a toon-up about 7 times before we attacked again but he didn't listen. I said grrr and then he said Sorry. Then we did next attack, HE DIDN'T TOON-UP! I only had 10 laff left..then he tooned me up! But I left the building but Xing out of the window...sorry, I know it was harsh..I regret doing that....SOO SORRY Exodia and Pickles.

Please, I don't want anyone telling me its harsh...I regret it and I learned a lesson! Don't need to nag at me more about it...I was grumpy that day because well, my real friends and I are having some problems right now..

I feel the same way! I mean,this is bad 4 both of you! This toonwasted its time training 4 it,and it wont get any credit! You probobly would've lost,even you know you did ur part! So I agree with you!
