Do you have to pay for another membership if you become a tester?

The title really explains it all. Do you have to pay for another membership if you become a tester? By that, I mean, do I have to pay for another membership to get member privilages? I'm interested in becoming a tester, I've never been suspended, I know the rules, so I think I qualify. I know the waiting list is really long, but I'm willing to wait. But I'm not going to wait maybe 2 years to get a test and not be a member. So, does it come with the account?

I'm pretty sure that if your open account is a member, your test will be too.

I heard somewhere that you may ask to be a member...however I don't know. I'm sorry I cannot be of much help! Hopefully, an actual tester will comment so you can get an answer! Good Luck!
