I made friends with him about a year and half ago. Yes, he is a developer. At the time I made friends with him, he only had 100 laff pts which was maxed in my days. I had to take him off my list due to the fact i have only seen him log on about two times. Need space for secret friends. He was very nice to me and he even visted my house.

there is no great mystery here!
the devs probably caught on th the fact that the 105 thing gets them noticed! so to "lay low" they went for the less noticible 102. when you checked him out and he was " made" he left!

Where I work I talk to IT guys at Disney from time to time. So I asked the guys who work on the resort systems if they knew anyone working on the online game TT... the respsonse was a resounding "Huh?"

Dontcha just love massive companies?

Just a small nit: I doubt it was 1 1/2 years ago. Estates weren't released until
June 03 (10 months ago). I know, it seems like a long time ago hehe

Well, the first time I made friends with him was that long ago, but the second time was probably 10 months ago (and what good memory you have of keeping track of tt history) and that's when he visited me at my estate. It has been only a year since my duck could talk to other toons. I am glad that his where abouts are still being sited my other toons.

Hee hee, I guess it's not surprising -- I'm a developer at a "massive company" myself, and I couldn't tell you much about what goes on beyond my little area of specialty. I need to get out of my office more!

Here's some info that may jog the memory of your Disney colleagues: the group who created Toontown used to be called "Disney VR Studio", and now they're called "Walt Disney Internet Group". According to this link, before creating Toontown they created some of the "virtual reality" attractions that are located in DisneyQuest in Walt Disney World such as ""Aladdin's Magic Carpet VR Adventure", "Hercules in the Underworld", and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Buccaneer Gold". I think these devs are located in the Los Angeles area.

Thanks! But it's all in black and white on TT's News Release page. Sorry to nit
again but 1 1/2 years ago puts you only 5 days after LE opened. You probably
weren't too far out of Donald's Dock or Daisy Gardens I suspect eh?

The thing is, I should have looked closer at the News Release page myself. I
hadn't noticed before that they mention when they changed it from all gags
available to 6 of 7 available. Ah well, live and learn

I think I joined in January, not sure. It all starts to blurr after awhile, just like the factory runs-lol. It was all before the estates, emotions, even the wave. And even before that catching game that we all regret (my toon couldnt sit on the trolly, we just stood). Plus i pay the lower rate, my husband signed up after the increase (his lost).

However I do have some secret friends that played on the LE days and they are all Grandmas. Sounds like the LE days were mostly adults till Disney open it up to the public. Thanks Goose for info!

Didn't all the old beta 1 toons get nuked with that test?
Now we have the luxury of having our own test servers, so our beloved test toons don't go poof, but I seem to remember my son losing his first toon that way...

All the toons in the betas are long gone, and as far as I know (I only played
Beta 1 for 3 weeks back in January 2002, but played all of Beta 2, LE and
Open to this day), all 7 tracks were never available (Kid Bugs or any of the
first players please correct me if all 7 were ever available in the beginning of
Beta 1). October 21, 2002 marked the beginning of pay-to-play Toontown
(LE) and is the earliest birthdate for ANY toon currently in Open (Loosy
Goosy's birthday ).

If you see a toon with all 7 tracks, it's either a developer, a developer family
member, or something special Disney granted for compensation (which I doubt
because it's more common to receive credit to one's account for something
like that). The fact that both Apple Crumble and I saw 2 different 7 track
toons with only 102 laff is the only real mystery here. Up until recently the
7-track 'dev' toons would be set at 105 laff.

I hate to dissagree with you loossy(i really do. It is my second time in my life and i have read many of your agruments) but I personally experinsed this. They were on toontown in the first 2 months but not on test.(i didn't even know what test was then) Sorry.

I think so. In other posts it said that dev's can read what you type but cant see your whispers. Not sure if its true though.
