Appalled at some of the rudeness

I realize that this is a kid's game and once being a kid, didn't have the best manners. But today my 2 yr son was playing (yes he can already use a computer!) and a toon (won't mention names) told him to run. At first I thought maybe she was just concerned about him getting his butt kicked. My son was playing some tough cogs but was with a group and was holding his own. Granted he was in the Brggh with only 16 lp. =D The toon kept running around the group and was told to stop it. Kept sending my son rude messages (you stink etc) and telling him she was angry. I got the impression she wanted him to quit just so she could take his place. So anyways if the toon does read this mssg. I hope you feel better now after having insulted a 2yr old. I just wish ppl would realize that you really don't know who is behind the toon and it could be just a little child or maybe I'm just an overprotective mom!
Prince Jellyroll, a cute brown bunny, is a 2yr old
Also this isn't the first rudeness I've seen and I've seen it directed at others too but I think this was the worst case (so far).
And am I the only one that feels this way?
Finally done ranting

I forgot also to make matters worse later he was soloing some cogs and she joined and would not fight, making him do the work and letting him get hit so I had no chose but to hit the run button for him. Grrr... Ok having gotten that off of my chest.

Yeah, happens all the time, unfortunately. I don't even really pay attention to when my 4 year old plays because 1) he can't read that much so it doesn't really upset him much and 2) He thinks it's funny when he hears the "grrr" sound. I hope he's like me in that sense. I don't let it bother me. We even make a joke out of it when he's sitting on my lap helping me play. I'll say "He said I stink!" Then I'll sniff myself and either say "Ooooh! I need a bath!" or I'll say "I do not!" and stick out my bottom lip. Then he'll joke around w/ me & say I do & laugh about it. Then I'll agree with the guy who said it to me. "Yes" "Phew!" "thanks!".

I think it's funnier than heck to turn it around on someone else. Kind of disarms them a little. I think it's all in the way you react.

And perhaps this rude toon was only 3..hehe.
My son could read when he was three so you just never know either, people assume they're older if they can use the speedchat.
Don't worry, it happens, I just assume it's a little kid.

I got a few new speedchats exactly for situations like these.

Anonymous rude toon, "You stink!"

I reply, "I couldn't wait any longer" "Excuse me!" "Phew" "I heard that!"

"Don't be mean!"

"Sorry, I can't"

I usually get the reply, "Huh?", but I've received different actions. I've found myself ROFLing at some points, hehe.

Thanx

Thanx for the responses and advice. I do have the feeling it was an older kid or an extremely immature adult. Especially since the toon had 51 lp. But oh, well. I'm just glad my son can't read yet. From reading other posts I've noticed others have had problems too. The toon kept telling me she was angry so I kept sending her the same thing, just repeating every she told my son until she got bored of it. Hehe! Mommy bonkers

Wink Response to rudeness

Another way to respond to that "you stink" business or rudeness is to click on the toon or their chat and whisper the emotion "sad". Then the toon gets "......... is sad". That has worked for me a number of times and elicited an apology.
I like the "phew", "excuse me" though haha. I'll definately have to use that!

Smile Used It again

I used the "sad" whisper again last night and got an apology right away. sometimes people pop off before they think and sometimes I think the kids just like to say that hee hee.
