Two Possible reasons;

1) Adding new stuff now means that when it comes into Toontown for good, the update won't take as long.

2) Disney are crafty. They know that people will be looking in the phase files to find music and stuff. Adding it now means that people will share their findings on sites such as this and they're more likely to continue thier subscription.

As for the parties;

The way I hope they'll do it: They are like the guilds in POTCO, but with a few improvments. Any one can make one and invite people to join, and their will be three different types. One type anyone can join as they wish, one type you must be invited by the leader/an officer (probably won't be called that) and you can accept if you wish, or the last type you need to know the password. Speedchat+ will be intergrated into this and you use it to contact members of your party. If you are the leader/an officer there is a button you can press to contact everyone in the party. This will make the CCG, and other clan leaders for that matter ecstatic. They can give all of their members a password to join the party, and will be able to see roughly how many people will come to an event and give everyone a message like "Meeting in 5 mins" It would eliminate the need for SFing in clans.

How I hope they don't do it: Parties would be introduced in order to eliminate shuffling. You can now only board elevators with members of your party. This would infuriate the CCG, they would cease to exist and so would Toontown because everyone will be annoyed and leave. This scenario is bad, eventhough it will eliminate shuffling.

How they probably will do it: Its closer to the Crew format to the Guild format in POTCO. Its just a bunch of Toons going round together helping eachother out, and you can press some of the buttons which will send messages to other party members saying things like "<Insert Toon Name> is ready to enter a building now." This won't affect the CCG.

I don't think it will make it so you can't go with non-crew members, I just think you can choose, crew members, or anyone else. I think that disney is just making this to help YOU personally get on ellevators, BUT if people are missing from the group or not online, I think you would have the choice of going with anyone else.

Anyways,for catii,I was afraid,mentally cause I really wanted SC+ for free members.

Heres the pros and cons for the SC+:

Pros:Like chat except to the public instead of those "Meow,meow,meow","Squeak" and "Quack,quack" things.Increases number of customers.

Cons:More toons get banned for typo for bad word,secrets revealed,SC+ + More customers = SUPER,EXTREME RACE!Ok,I was just kidding.It is SUPER,EXTREME LAGGG!

That is awesome. The Christmas Tree looks beautiful. I wonder if it'll be replacing the trees. Or I wonder if it'll be able to buy from the Catalog. Now that would be great. I was really impressed that Toontown decorated for Halloween. I'm not sure if they've done that before. Too bad I couldn't participate. Although, I am anticipating those new events.

It will replace the trees. Well, it did the last Christmas I was on TT...
And they have done that before.

After carefully examining the phase files, I have found that the guild system of Pirates(I think, as I don't really play that game) is already put into Toontown.

EDIT: Nevermnd, the above had nothing to do with it. Instead, the system is refered to as "Boarding Groups" for Speedchat as it gets it's own space called "Boardings"
