I have no problem with new toons exploring. I know that they like to see all of the areas and the different cogs, but I DO have a problem when they're trying to jump into elevators in The Brrrgh and (especially) DDL. One hit from most of the cogs in those buildings would kill a 15-20 laffer and their gags (which generally aren't above level 3, if that) will usually miss and don't do enough damage to matter.
Look around all you want, get into fights on the street all you want, but stop trying to jump into buildings that are WAY above your level!

Well, what you have to do is try to ditch him into the elevator. I know it sounds mean but it it's the best thing you can do for them, you have to let them know about the danger, and that way may be they will learn, I know they get annoying, but their problem is that they don't really know what is a cog building and that they're bothering anyone, many of them are just kids...

Although I do not entirely agree with you... You have discussed things that haven't crossed paths with me before.
I Agree, we need to teach the noob toons that the BLD's aren't the safest places for their survival. (this depends also on the person behind the toon.) However, most noob toons aren't given the chance nor time of day to show if they are or are not capable of making it out of the bld alive. I know for a fact that a well exp player has infact sucessfully maxed out throw and squirt whilst remaining a noob toon. At this present time however i can't seem to recall a name, maybe someone there can... The "problem" noobs i've heard being mentioned... the ones that seem to hang out in DL and the Brrgh from what i can tell are most likely Children. Of course these are only assumptions. The reason for this assumptions are; 1.) They don't seem to catch on to things as well as an adult may do. 2.) They say "you stink" quite often, where as I think most adults would not repeat that as often. I had more reasons but i've become distracted during this thread and have forgotten, like i normally always do. If anyone has any suggestions as to how we can help the noobs advance in their lvls and into the Game structure rather than just playing blds/trolly/fishing. I'd appreciate them for a trial use, thankyou!

Just part of playing with the wee ones.
I had one little 15 laffer come up and ask me where Barnacle Bargains was and we were in the Brrrgh. Lol. I teleported her back to Donalds Dock. I like little toons. Most are cool, but a few are bossy. Not much you can do. My only rant is the problem at HQ these days.

Nope, Skitzow is going to remain at 25 laffs.....There is no reason for me to increase his laff points..
![]() And for all the toons ot there, who will allow Skitzow to go with them to take a building, "You Rock!".....and if he gets sad, don't worry, it's all in fun!

Opening the map
There are several good reasons for low laffers to be in higher playgrounds and streets.
With the way the species are set up, noobies have to go to other playgrounds to catch some fish and they have to run through some of the streets. It takes some of them time to figure out they can use their book (once they've crossed over into a new area) to go to the next playground. When they reach a building, they probably have no idea that any of them are any more dangerous than others. They just know that they found other toons to play with. I usually ask them what task they are working on, would they like some help and then have them follow me to their playground after we make friends. I have created 4 toons now. One of the first things i do is run everywhere to open my map. With my secret friends spanning my toons, this is the only way to TP to where they are to chat, help, etc. Just some thoughts...

Since I have no real Tasks left to do, I pretty much solo buildings now or help Friends (non-secret variety) if they beckon. My only real goal is that I wouldn't mind finally getting Hypno-Goggles and maxing Fog Horn @ 9999 before turning exclusively to Cog HQ runs. Plus it's fun to see how high a star I can get in the limited time I have.
As such I spend alot of time in Elm St, Barnacle Blvd & Alto Ave. I have no problem with ANY random lowbies tagging along. I just look at it as a way to milk some Toon-up experience. |
