Windowed Helps

I finally go around to down loading this site's windowed version of TT. My game seemed to run sooo much better. Not all that lag time and stuff. It just seemed to mysteriously gone, and I was in neighborhood with 450 toons.

Don't know if that helps others but it sure did me.

Seen this. I play on a laptop. So the video card is not what you would call "high powered" or even "medium". Without window, I am constantly fighting lag and staying in less populated districts. With windows I can go anywhere with under about 400 toons in it. My brother laughs at me since he has a high powered card on his desktop and can full screen, window, change sizes and such constantly to no effect. ToonTown is a graphics hog, that is for sure.

Edit: Sometimes I maximize the window in buildings. They seem to work since they are "less populated" areas. But is lag catches up, I restore and wait a few seconds. This lets the processor catch up, and life returns to normal. It is interesting hearing a cog start spinning and explode, then watching the action with silence in place.

Playing in the window also helps when you DO start getting lag, you don't have to shut down and restart your computer. Before running the game in a window, I would have to totally take down the computer.


I too am playing on my lap top. My desktop is having IE issues at the moment.
