I have never lost a friend due to the toon species elections and anyone willing to ex a friend over such a trivial thing isn't a friend in the first place. It's the same scenario every year there has been a toon species election though and afterwards there are hundreds of threads about how bad the winning species is when it is released.

ahh..yes the joys of democracy. I rather have disney dictating and have them pull the name out of a hat and say who wins.
I'd rather have neither ))what's really dumb in my opinion is befor elections there are pots saying. LIKE OMG I HOPE THERE IS ANOTHER ELECTION. and they make it sound so friendly. |

Bah, people need to learn to accept the opinions of others. Until they stop acting so childish, you're going to receive that kind of behavior. I respect the opinions of others: It doesn't make a difference to me what you're voting for. Heck, shunning someone or being mean to them just because they are voting for someone you don't like is almost stifling toon democracy.
It's completely uncalled for. Anyone acting in such a matter should be promptly ignored, until the childish behavior stops. |

Howdy! I would think, or hope, that most of the Election Wars and bad sportsmanship behavior is being done by children. This is a wonderful opportunity for us "Grown-Ups" and Parents to educate about democracy which is the foundation of the good-ol USA. I beleive the phrases "Think Big, Vote Pig" and "Vote Goat, That's All she Wrote" were intended to allow everyone opportunity to champain for their candidate of choice, and maybe spark a little healthy competitiveness. But, as with all things political it ultimately turns into a full-blown rivalry. Let us Grown-Ups and Parents make it our jobs to model healthy competion combined with freedom of choice, and good sportsmanship. This is one of their test trials for the real world, and one of our opportunities to shape some future minds. I've made it no secret that I like the Pig, but, if the Goat wins, I'll Welcome them to Toontown with open arms and i'll hopefully be including some new baby goats on my friends list. Lets all teach by example! One way we can start is by limiting our champaining to what we think is postive about our candidate and refraining from negative bashing of the other candidate. That's how they need to do it in the in the real world and I admire those who can keep the focus and run the race based on their own strentghs, rather than highlighting or mis-representing the other's weakness. I have probably been guilty of some bashing and I'd like to amend that by apologizing to all the Goat supporter's. Good Luck to us both! And, by the way, Lets Keep It Fun! Thanks for listening.
