Marshmallard Impersonator

I wasn't going to make this thread, because I didn't think I cared very much, if at all, but I guess I do.

This toon is a chubby, sunny yellow, male duck, who, at the moment, is 18 laffs.

I didn't care at first, but a close friend of mine made SF's with this toon, out of pure curiosity, I'm sure. The toon did say sorry to me, and, through the mutual SF, I did learn, to some extent, why he took my toon's name. I don't understand it, but I'll deal.

I will not befriend this toon, and I will not help him get his suit parts, or help him work his gags, but I'm assuming he has other friends to help him with that, anyway. I will not, however, make this toon's play time less pleasant if we happen to get thrown in a cog-fighting situation together. Infact, I will try my hardest to help him dance.

This is not a flame. Please don't let it turn into that, or it'll have to be closed and/or banned. I don't want that. I'm not trying to turn anyone against this toon. I just don't want my toons to be associated with his or anything he does in game, because that wouldn't be fair, to either of us. I will own up to anything -I- do, but I will not take responsibilty for another toon's actions. I think it's safe to say that most people would feel the same way.

I'm actually I think one of the first to spot him out a couple days ago. I SF'd him just wondering if it was a fake or a the real Marhmallard's 2nd toon. Turned out to be an impersonator who is my SF on another toon. If you want to know what name he goes by on the forum, PM me, PurpleToeSocks. I told him that he should'nt of copied it. Did'nt really get a respond back though...

I saw the toon today in the pit at nutty river i knew it wasnt you because the gags were low (compared to your marshmallard) I dont really understand the point of stealing names, in my opinion just shows lack of immagination. Be original even if the name you create isnt clever or funny rather be original than a copy cat lol.

The Marshmallard impersontor is my SF, but I did'nt know that till I asked to SF this new marshamallard. I told him it was wrong and everything. So he wants you guys to know he's sorry and he DELETED the toon even though it had all suit parts and level 4 throw and squirt. He feels bad about it when seeing the thread and wants to be forgived...he's sorry...

But you already have it so it would be stupid having the same name as someone else.

And I'm sorry that person copied your name.
He should be ashamed and embarassed that he couldn't think of his own creative name.

Well it has been said that copying is the most sincere form of flattery . I almost feel bad for the little guy. The thing I have never understood is why go through all the work to be as great as the person you are copying if you aren't going to get the recognition for all your hard work? All people are going to think is that "you copied" and not the fact that you worked so hard to max gags or become an awesome uber *shrugs*

Glad the situation was rectified...too bad all his work went to waste.

I've had people copy the names of some of my old toons. It's nice to see they like it...but they shouldn't go and copy it. I've deleted my toons that people have taken the names of...only because they were noobs...but still it's sad to see people copying others, but not really fair for the person who's being copied. The people copying should be creative and try to think of a good name like the person they copied, not copy their name.

Hey PTS! We talked about this the other day, and having someone recently copy one of my toon names as well, I can completely understand your feelings. Thankfully neither I nor my friends have heard negative things about the toon who copied mine, but to see a toon running around with a name you've had for years is hard at best. As always you handled this with class and grace and remain the one of the nicest toons I know.
