Do petitions work? I think there are better ways to get what you want.
I've noticed alot of petitions on this website asking for Disney to fix certain problems in the game. However, I don't think that these petitions, no matter how many signitures they get, do anything at all.
Petitions are a way to get the government to act upon a problem. In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well in other states, you can send a bill to the government with a petition attached to show that the bill has support. This makes the state legislature more likely to take your bill seriously.
However, this concept has carried over to other fields, fields where it doesn't work as well. For example, take the petition that the ttc'ers are making that asks Disney to fix the invasion problem. Let's say they get 200 signatures and then it's sent to Disney. It's only one person sending one email with 200 names which could easily be coined names. To the lazy "customer service" representatives at Disney, this is completely inconsequential. You're lucky even if they say, "We'll take it into consideration."
If you really want Disney to do somthing, petitions aren't the way to go. Just tell everyone to email disney with your complaints. If they're email servers are flooded with complaints about a problem, it'll get their attention better than one little email that they will probably only glance at if anything.
Does anyone agree with me?
