all of the pictures can be reloaded into the TTC gallery.. I dont understand why that would be a problem, but it would take a lot of time. But reguardless its sad that youre going. I was thinking about acting on the 2 for 1 deal they have and do the lifetime but i think i just changed my mind. Many more are going to follow your lead. Truely a sad day in TTC, when one of the best leaves!

I am sure Gail as well as myself had hundreds of screenies on our users, not just a handful. I also had several slideshows as I know Gail did as well. It took me almost an entire day to do my userpage. I dont want to waste another entire day re-uploading hundreds of screenies. I paid my yearly subscription just to have my userpage. Now I feel like it was a total waste of my hard earned money.

I have the same problem as you do. I had the FIRST screenshot I EVER took of my toon uploaded on Imageshack for here. And I had lost all my screenshots when I had to re-install toontown, so now I'm left with some ***'s all over ever picture I have posted. I'm mad, but I'm not mad enough to leave. I hope you change your decision.

I was thinking about that after i put my foot in my mouth.. i know it takes a long time.. i spent 3 hours just trying to figure out how to do my user page and decided it wasnt worth it. I see the reasoning behind why ttc stopped the link access to outside hosts, but i dont think they should have done it.
If i could have figured out the userpage all of my stuff would have been loaded through an outside host too. I'm sorry you guys lost all your hard work! It came without warning and it wasnt fair!

I had to come back to clarify one thing... It goes deeper than just redoing some images. It boils down to trust and treating people with respect. I have been disrespected one time too many here (as have SO many people) and honestly, I expect better than that as a paying member let alone a human being.

I had a ton of slides. They took me time. My pages were very detailed, and very important to me. We can no longer use Photobucket which I paid for so I could host all my images. More money wasted. Slideshows, TTC does not have an option to make slideshows in their gallery. They would not even allow me to link to my off site pages, because they could not control them. I watched so many friends spend time this summer creating their userpages, proud they had finally gotten them done, they are all trashed now.

I had 3 pages linked off of my userpage. I requested if they did not want me to host my own pages they give me space here, they could not do that. Browsing these forums and seeing all those missing images is maddening. Who needs that.

There are other sites out there that are MUCH more friendly and treat their members better. The day I got grounded for having an extra line in my sig is the day I should have walked. A grown woman grounded, can you imagine, and on my birthday to boot. Mods running crazy with power, slapping everyone's little hands for the most minor issue, posts being edited and changed to reflect they way they would like them to read, I have no choice but to leave. Principles and all that...

Thank you all for your lovely comments and well wishes. I WILL miss it here but we will catch up another place, another time.

Mods COULD at least apologize for the damage they've done of removing the image hosting sites, I mean how many pictures have been uploaded from imageshack? I've done A LOT of imageshacking myself, and I always deleted my screenies from my TT file, too much room, takes up space. I, for one, would rather not resort to taking all of my pictures, if they haven't been deleted, and uploading them all in the TTC gallery. Too much time I won't even bother wasting. Second, so many userpages have been destroyed with lost pictures of un-saved edits, screenshots, etc... Like ~Scarlet~ said, it's also more than the pics, it's more like all the good times. I hope soon the mods will realize they are not held responsable for pop ups resulting from imagehosting sites, I can get popups from this site sometimes, when my washer fails. Even though it's too late to revert back.

User pages are subject to the same rules as all other content on www.toontowncentral.com. For those of you who have actually read the rules for the site you'd know that and would have no basis to complain about content being editted.

As for external sites, we've allowed very few in the years of this forum's existence. Those we did allow we monitored for content (especially the image hosting sites). Unfortunately, recent decisions by the owners of most image hosting sites have left us no choice but to ban those sites. Batleth has gone to a great deal of work to find and provide alternatives which he has posted in various threads for people to use. If you can't host what you need on TTC itself, you'll need to go to one of the alternatives he's noted.

Finally, we're sorry to see you go. Losing a member over something as petty as this is always a sad thing to see, but one of our primary principles here is to protect the children who use our site from inappropriate content. That principle over-rides all other considerations on this site.
