I'm still fairly new to Toontown, so forgive me if this is an absurd post ( i.e. the answer to this is obvious and easy to find elsewhere - I haven't found it yet ).
I don't think the Doodles are worth the ROI ( return on investment ). Unless one day they're incredibly powerful or something, my goodness they take a lot of time and attention just so one day you get caught in a building needing to be healed and they just look at you with a question mark above their head. I find mine annoying, I'm always in the middle of something else and she pesters me. I was in a building with this one toon that had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe ( literally ) ... he kept calling his Doodle ( we had things under control, so it didn't matter ) and his doodle kept showing up doing nothing and he would get "angry" at him ( I'm laughing now just typing this ) ... I don't think you want to get mad at your doodle, but I could be wrong about that - I've never seen anyone treat their doodle like that before. You know, for months I see everyone going "Nice Doodle" and "Good girl/boy" even when they're not supposed to ( I don't think you're supposed to be supportive of the doodle when they don't do the trick, but I'm not clear on that ) and here this dude is getting angry with his, it was just funny. Anyways - has anyone's doodle actually saved them or another toon in battle more than once? Am I missing something here? Are they really just for fun? No laugh boost or anything if they do something or get trained high enough? - Barry |

The max toonup you can get from a doodle is 22laff which is nothing compared to what toonup can do. But it does toonup the person who called the doodle unlike toonup which is cool I guess. And it takes a loooong time to gt it to max. You have to fill up each experience bar multiple times... I couldn't even imagine spending that much time training a doodle. I'd go nuts! But they are good for people who choose to go toonupless.. But as far as I've seen, no they are not as reliable or as strong as a toonup gag.
I too am kind of sick of my doodle. She's always getting in the way at my estate and stuff. So I'm thinking if you are a toonupless toon they are good but if you are a toon who chose the toonup track they are an unnecessary annoyance. |

So for Jump, thats 5 full bars (5-10) and Speak 11 full bars (11-22) so a long way, doodles do tricks more reliably as you get more laffs, and you get more for each one (more noticeable as laffs increase), but not really until half way up the laff total. Of course if you can get someone else to do the work for ya ![]() 'Keep it Kool ' |

My doodle has saved me many times - if you think about it, most lower level cogs do less than 10 damage - so my doodle can keep me alive, and refill my meter if it is low (he has done jump 12 times in a row...) The easiest way I've found to max a doodle is to doodle train while you are gardening. With practice, you can steadily train while digging, planting, etc. A second easy way to train is to train while fishing at your estate (on Wednesdays, so that you can sell your fish on the spot without having to go to a playground). I would personally work jump endlessly, followed by dance. For some reason, dance seems not to tire them out as much as speak (on mine). So I have maxxed jump on 5 doodles, and dance on 3, working on the other three. For a "regular" "big" toon - unless you are toon-up-less, I really don't think they are necessary - just my opinion. I finally called my doodle TAFFY and told her to jump and LOW AND BEHOLD.....my baby girl doodle jumped for me!!! I was SO proud of my little girl. I have TAFFY, hubby has BLURP and my bunny has QUEENIE. Yesterday I went sad in the CFO battle. Me and my friend went to my estate, another friend came and we got FULL POWER LAFF in no time at all cuz our doddles were going nuts doing tricks. It was soooooooooooooo fun!!! Anyways, sometimes i get mad at my doodle. Especially if someone (or ME!) needs a TU and she doesn't jump. The point of saying "Good Boy" or "Nice Doodle" is to hope that it gets happy or whatever. My doodle, being maxed in jump, with turn back to excited after i say "Good Girl!" once if shes tired. |

A doodle who is maxxed in at least two tricks is priceless in the VP battle. I agree with the above poster, in that dance and jump seem to be the two tricks least likely to tire a maxxed doodle.
I am not picky who I go with in VP, I load with anyone. Many times I end up sided with the smaller suits, and they haven't always earned toon up gags yet. A doodle maxxed in dance can refill everyone with 20 laff. Once those tricks are maxxed, I can normally call a doodle to battle around five times before they stop performing. (Although I would only do that if it were a laff-desperate situation! I'm all for killing cogs BEFORE they can damage you!) |

Most definitely.... Doodles are priceless. Just to come home to see that happy face, cute ears, floppy feet, and tail a waggin is the best feeling in the world.
Me loves watching me doodle perform her tricks; me thinks its most fun to watch her: Play Dead and Dance. Those two tricks are awesome and she sooo cute, most definitely worth all da jellybeans. Remember Jellybeans are free, you can always make more. Although there be oodles of doodles, there be only one that you can call yours. |
