I'm still not sure that you need to throw it away. I'll share my experience with you. I was training my doodle (for my evil toon upless toon). I had roughly the same situation as you. I called the doodle (a cheap DDL one) a few times. Though he was supposed to be rarely confused, he seemed confused most of the time I called him. I was in the same boat as you. I thought that I should've just spent more on another doodle. But I just couldn't throw away all that time invested. So I continued to train it. I have sinced maxed all tricks on him. He has a very high success rate when performing tricks now.
Now I know you said that yours is a DD doodle. My guess (and it is just a guess) that the only difference may be that the doodle (once fully trained) may tire out a little quicker. But I'm not entirely sure that it would tire out any faster. I know you have invested a lot of time into training. I would hate to see it thrown away for picking up a DDL doodle that will, most certainly, deal you a bunch of grief until it's experience gets maxed. Again, I'm no authority on all things doodle. I just wanted to share my experience in the hope that it helps. |

I've had a lot of doodles. The ones that work best for me are DD Standard, or DDL Very Excitable. Any of the ones that have said something like rarely hungry, rarely tired, etc., I have ended up returning. I bought one in DDL that said rarely hungry, and it was almost always hungry. I returned it and bought a very excitable (took over a week of looking to find one) and he has never been hungry. I've had him for over 2 years and he usually hits when I call him.
Something that a couple of my friends do is that as soon as they log in, they feed and pet their doodles, often making them perform a trick. They say that helps when they call the doodle in battle. So, you might want to try that before you return yours since you have a lot of training already invested. |

Sorry about your doodle. I'm sure not to get a early pg doodle and wait until having the back for a DDL doodle, or I would be attached with the old one. Losing those hours of training is tough.

Well, I can't say I would have done it any different because for the first time the wife and I waited to get TU and our doodles were lifesavers but they couldn't be relied upon either... it was always a gamble. I had pretty much decided anyway but this helps me to feel less guilty about the sad doodle face in knowing its for the best.
The only thing now is to check DDL every day until I find the one thats just right ![]() On another note... what is the current max doodle cost? Is it still around 4900? |

I am loyal to my doodle. I wouldn't trade her.
When you leave your estate you gotta leave her in the affectionate mode. Dont count on using your doodle 10 times in a row to toon you up. That won't happen. The first trick (if maxed) will succeed, the second and third... well the Doodle may get tired. |

Unloyal toons
Tsk. Tsk. Such unloyal toons. So willing to give up their Doodles just because it didnt perform as you wish.
Your Doodles has always been loyal, they come when you call, get happy when you scratch them, and feed them. Me guesses that is the nature of some toons characters. Treating Doodles like an old pair of shoes, just discarding it like that. Maybe you also treat your friends like that. Just delete them just because they haven't been on for a week or don't come and help you every time you call them. Hmmmmm.... |

I know for a fact it is VERY difficult to turn in a doodle.. Disney makes you want to cry when you see their little sad faces. :*(
I like having my doodles work, especially when my toons are new and dont have toonup yet. So a good doodle really pays off. Although Ethan is just mad because I have a TTC doodle Meow Meow that I bought the day the doodles came out. With no idea what was a good doodle or a bad doodle. She was just average but performs better then any of my other doodles. I would have to say maybe she is good because of her old age LOL All my new doodles are interesting... Some stink really bad some arent too bad but I know as soon as my little toons all get their 5000 bean banks they will be shopping for DDL doodles.

You would probably consider getting a doodle at Donald's Dreamland. They have the best statistics of all. They listen to you more than any of the other doodles. The design of the doodle is your choice and it really doesn't matter as much as the statistics of the doodle. The doodles at Donald's Dreamland are very expensive, somewhere between 4000 - 5000 jellybeans. You have to save up, get included in Beanfests, play Trolley games, and fish. I suggest you look up some Beanfest times here at our site in the Event section. ![]() |

I have just recently went through this. When I make toons, I just naturally go to TTC or DD and buy a doodle. I even spent a week last year fully maxing all of the doodles at my estates. Out of the 11 doodles that I had, 2 were from DDL, 1 was from MM, and all the others were a mix of DD and TTC.
A couple of weeks ago I really put all the doodles to the test in buildings. I would let my toons get down into the 20lp range, lure the cog, then call the doodles. I kept track of how often each of them performed their tricks. At the end, I had no problem going to DDL, returning my fully maxed TTC & DD doodles, and purchasing new ones. I now have identical triplet DL doodles on three of my toons. Shockingly, even my NON maxed new DL doodles performed as well as, if not better, than my maxed TTC and DD doodles. I don't regret my decision one bit! Very Excitable Dreamland Doodles are definitely the way to go! Sure it's a little heartbreaking to see those sad little faces, but you'll feel better once the clerk promises to find a good home for your old doodles. =D As for the reprimand, are you serious? It's an animated game. The doodles have a purpose. If they do not live up to that purpose, there is no reason to keep the pixilated image when a different pixilated image WOULD serve the intended purpose! Mom |

Since this has been bumped up I guess I could give an update... I have since traded in 2 of my cheap doodles to DDL doodles. One of them I settled for a 4500'ish doodle as a compromise to go with a theme for that particular toon. The second I got an "always affectionate" 4998 doodle with no regrets in either case.
I now have 3 DDL and 1 Brrrgh doodle and they all perform great. I have actually gotten to the point of working my gags on the top floors of blds while going solo (I wouldn't recommend this unless your doodle is maxed in a trick or 2). They are that reliable once you get to know their limits. All I have to do now is wait for 5000 bean banks on 2 new toons (spots vacated since transferring daughters toons to her own acct! With the 2 doodles I maxed for her lol) so I can have my doodle herd back (I love getting full laff back in 1 trick )... until then 4 will just have to do ![]() |
