Racing Tip's and Tricks: An Aspiring Racers Guide

Beginners Notes: Basic controls

Up arrow Key: Accelerate
Down arrow Key: Brake
Left Arrow Key: Turn Left
Right Arrow Key: Turn Right

Ctrl Key: Use item

Items:
Anvil: Squishes the leader and makes them go to 0 MPH for serveral seconds.
Banana peel: Makes you slip and slide, and brings your speed down considerably.
Item Booster: A portable track booster that can be used whenever you need it.
Pie: Blinds whatever it hits for a short period of time.

Beginners tips
1: Don't bother with other accessories until you have roadster(Or TUV, whichever you want), then you can go all out.
2:It's best to go with friends or secret friends, 'cause then you can keep racing and for every race you will let somebody win, an excellent way to get tickets!
(Thanks AlexanderTheGreat for both of these beginners tips!)

1. On curves, go from the Outside - In.
2. Always try to get the Red Arrows.
3. Never stop going forward.
4. Try to always have 400 tickets with you, so you can play all the courses.
(Thanks William&Sandy for all four of these beginners tips!)

Run over present boxes to get items.

Please ConsultTHIS thread for information on how to get started.

Please read on if you are a decent racer and need some help with winning races, improving skills, and such:

You have covered the basics, and maybe even got some major tickets too, but are you just not getting enough tickets for that roadster? Need some help? Look no further! This guide contains all you could ever need to know about semi-advanced racing!

Tip's section 1: Screwball Stadium

Trick: Short track. Easy to stay close to your opponets on, but what if they are powering ahead? Wait! You have a anvil! Woahhhhhh dont press the control button yet, theres a better time to launch it. Wait until your opponent just passes the track booster, then fire your anvil, it will stop their boost completely! Letting you power by them by using the boost yourself!

Tip: DON'T TALK DURING THE RACE. Its a waste of time and it can distract you from corners, boosters and even bananas on the track. If you ABSOLUTELY MUST talk, try using speedchat, even if its a sf.

Tip: Think you are the master of turning? You may not be. Whenever you reach a turn, taking the finger off the accelerator before you make that turn can save a valuble second.

Tip: You're on a straightaway. But, you want to go to the other side of the road, do you swing over to the other side? No. That would slow you down. Instead do tiny little taps in the direction of where you wish to go. It doesnt slow you down nearly as much as swinging across, so it's a safer movement.

Tip: Turn as little as possible when its not needed.

Trick: Are you trying to hit a top speed point? Not trying to win the race? You can reach amazingly high speeds if you hit a track booster, then use a item booster when you get to peak track boost speed.

Tip: Try not to hit the walls, it drops your speed by a LOT.

Tip: Looking at your map when hit by a pie assists in staying on course!

AdvancedTip: Corners still a problem? Just can't do them? Try actually breaking when you get to corners with the down arrow to lose enough speed to make that turn. It might slow you down, but, truth be told, you would've been slowed more by going off the track and into the wall because of excess speed.

Trick: Need to set a trap for an opponent behind you? Set a banana trap! On lap one set a banana in the middle of a narrow section in the track, on lap 2 set another on either the left or the right side of the first banana, and on the final lap lay one on the other side of the middle banana. With any luck your opponent will either hit a banana or end up flying off the track to avoid it, and either way they will lose a good amount of speed. (*** Extra Tip, if you have set 2 bananas up, but then you lose the lead, try to hit them with a pie as they approach the trap, they might hit one in their blindness***)

Tip: Whenever you hit a banana keep holding the accelerator, no matter what you do; you WILL do a quick spinout.

AdvancedTrick: Have a booster item? Good at turning? Heres a trick for you! When you get to a curve, turn on the booster, if you are already in the curve it will power you through the rest of the curve, with a little extra boost to spare! A great trick to gain some ground, or make your lead even longer.

AdvancedTrick: Is your opponent smashing you with anvils whenever you take the lead? Have a booster item? On the final lap? Then use this handy trick! Keep your booster item, and stay behind your opponet, but only a little bit behind them, when you get to the last curve before the finish line use the booster! (See above trick for details on how to do this this) you should power ahead of your opponent and finish the race before they can smash you with another anvil!

MastersTip: If you are going for record laps and trying to get bonus tickets, MAKE SURE you always immediatly use your items after you get them unless its a booster. You need all the boosters you can get. Also, with the new "two toon" minimum for toon battle races, you can get anviled. (ExtraTip: try to go with secret friends who will agree not to anvil you)

Trick: If you have a toon that is riding up your rear trying to pass you; slow down so your kart hits his kart, he'll slow down dramaticlly, and give you time to build a lead.

Trick: Use pies on people before they hit the booster, they might miss it.

Section 1.5: Corkscrew Coliseum

Tip. There are many banked curves with presents on the top of them. Unless you need an item; ride low on the curve, it saves time.

Trick: If you can't make the banked curves without smashing into a wall, try riding the top of the curve, then swing down as you turn.

Advanced Trick: Stick bananas where people seem to end up the most on the curves. Works a lot of times. And even if they dodge the banana, theres a higher chance that they will crash.

Tip: Use item boosters only on straightaways. Never use it on curves on this course.

Advanced Tip: Sort of opposite to the above, if you can turn on the booster middturn, you will end the curve going fast, and shave off a few precious seconds. Masters only.

Section 2: Rustic Raceway

Please note that all of the tips and tricks in the Screwball Stadium section work here too, it's just that all the tips and tricks in this section are ONLY FOR RUSTIC RACEWAY. Now then, let's get rural!

Tip: In the case of this track, NEVER go off the road, you will slow down a whole lot just being off the track.

Trick: Got a booster on the last set of present boxes before you finish a lap? don't use it yet, wait until you come up to the giant hill, and before you start to go up the hill, let that booster rip! You'll power up the hill and save a lot of time!

Tip: To cope with these very hard turns, always be ready to put on the break (Down arrow) before making the turn if you are going too fast.

Tip: On the last turn, I notice many people don't slow down because they are on a booster and fly into the wall. Do not do that! Take the time to slow down as much as it takes to make the turn, it may seem slower but it will end up being faster. As the people that fly into the wall, they lose insane speed on the grass.

AdvancedTrick: Going for a record lap? You'll need to be able to do one thing: Lay the bananas that you get as items where you wont accidently hit them later. You may ask "Why not just keep the item and never lay anything on the track?" Well, if you use all the bananas and get new items, you might get an all importent booster item! Essiential for making record times.
Anyways, always lay the bananas on long straightaways, where you will have time to see them. Two places are the barn, and the starting (Or finishing, depending if you are doing Rev or not) straightaway.

Tip: Need to slow down fast to make a turn? Try doing a quick turn to the corner of the track and quickly go outside the track onto the brown stuff. Then come back, you should have lost a lot of speed to make the turn now! (Thanks Princess Ladybug Lemonbee for this Tip.)

Trick: Have a anvil? Nowhere near a booster to lay it on the leader? No problem! If you are around a giant hill, fire the anvil as the leader starts up it. The leader will take forever to trek the hill and you WILL gain ground!

Trick: If you still have trouble keeping on the road, try to turn BEFORE you get to the curve, you'll still go into the grass slightly, but if you normally fly into the grass, it'll be worth the loss.

Section 2.5 Airborne Acres

Tip: This is a evil track. Whenever you are racing on it, make sure you are ready to twist and turn, accelerate and brake, and use items.

Trick: Lay your bananas on top of the booster hill. Works 9\10 times.

Tip: Use item boosters only on straightaways! Try using it near the barn.

Trick: Never let down your guard, be ready to get angry, because there are many spots to lay a perfect anvil. Examples: At the top of both hills, at the bottom of both hills, during your mega-jump ect.

Tip: While you are in mid-air after a jump you can still steer! Shave off seconds by leading into the turn while still in the air. (Thanks to Master Duke McMonkey for this one!)

Section 3..... City Circuit
This section has the same guidelines as the Rustic Raceway one. These tips and tricks are for CITY CIRCUIT ONLY. These tips and tricks will only work on this track. So lets go to the urban streets...

AdvancedTip: On the "s" curve torwards the middle of the track; you can go through that little section without turning by driving inbetween the two "S" curves. (The idea being you position yourself so that you can go inbetween the two S curves, at an angle at which you either dont need to turn, or barely need to)

Trick: Lay your anvils on people when they reach the booster for the giant bridge. They will have a very hard time getting up it without the booster.

Tip: There are many insane turns here, always use the break if you cant make a turn without smashing the curb.

Tip: If you are coming to the giant bridge and you miss the booster, or someone anvils you while you are on the booster, and you have a item booster USE IT. You need to get up that hill with a booster or else you will lose drastic time. (Thanks BlueDude for this tip)

Section 3.5: Blizzard boulevard

Tip: Although it's supposed to top City Circuit, I find this course fairly easy. The course has wide open roads to curve in, and nice straightaways.

Trick: Always make sure to use item boosters on straightaways.

Tip: Two of the boosters are on the side of the road. Memorize where they are, or you'll miss them a lot. Also remember to slowly position yourself on the particular side of the road. Fast turns on straightaways are a high cause of speed loss.

Trick: Use pies on curves and straightaways, because they are likely to meet their target, because of the wide open roads.

Trick: Try keeping the accelerator running, only brake when neccesary.

Theories section: For all Goofy speedway Theories! (unconfirmed= noone knows if it's true yet.) (Confirmed =means it's true.)

Toontown Dev's will make new accesories and maybe even new karts for those of us who have already maxxed out their kart (Unconfirmed)

Thats all for now fellow racers! More soon!

Please PM with suggestions for the guide. PM with theories for the theories section too. Also PM if you find any spelling mistakes, I want this guide as good as can be for you guys!

Maybe you should finish it with the long track tips first and then submit it? Either way, good tips... thanks!

I've dropped some banana peels on the turbo boosts arrows, but of course it means that I have to dodge them as well. So far, that hasn't been a problem..since I dropped them, I know that they're coming up and get around them, but i went a bit too far around a couple of times and missed the boost.

I've also been using the turbo boost items in conjunction with the arrows on the track like you mentioned...it's an incredible boost of speed when used together. Do you do that--use the boost item you picked up immediately after hitting the arrows so both boosts kick in together, or do you wait for the arrow boost to run out and then use the other? I figure as long as I can maintain control of the car at the extremely high speed, using them at the same time is the best method, but I'm not sure. Just wondered what you've been doing.

Also, regarding the turns, which seem to cause the biggest slowdowns--I read another post earlier with good tips. You might want to check it out, and consider collaborating with that member by combining all of your ideas into one guide.

Along with the turns, overall control seems to be a nagging problem. I thought the long track, having more gentle turns and all, would be less of a problem, but in fact, my car goes off track there more often than the short track. Can you add more to your guide about maintaining control in different situations--not just turns, but hills, or when you hit banana peels, or after using turbo boosts?

Good luck at the track...looking forward to reading more of your tips!

Goofy's Speedway tips.

Ok, for some of you who don't have test, or happen to be new testers here's a guide to Goofy's Speedway. I know alot of people have guides but the more info thew more help lol. Here goes...

Part 1: Getting your first car

When you enter the test Goofy's Speedway is connected to a tunnel between Punchline Place and the Clothing Shop. You don't need any gags or jellybeans to go to Goofy's Speedway, infact you don't even need 100 laffpoints! Just come as you are Goofy's Speedway is a fun place to play! Anyways, once you enter Goofy's Speedway you get automatic teleport acess to it (nifty eh?) After that when yopu first enter the new playground you will see a building in front of you known as the Auto Shop. If you want to race you should go in there to get your first kart. You start off with 200 tickets which you can use to enter in races or buy acessories for your car! You start off with the Cruiser, there are 3 different kinds of cars, Cruiser Roadster and TUV. Once you have your car, it's time to race!

Part 2: Racing!

Once you have your car come out of the auto shop and choose one of the three tracks Goofy's Raceway has to offer, here are some of the racetracks: City Circuit, Screwball Stadium, and Rustic Raceway. Once you choose a racetrack you may enter the portal with your car. It will ask if you want to enter the race and you click yes. After that it's time to race your new car! You also enter the left portal for a practice round, and the right portal to race against someone. After you enter the racetrack you use the up arrow to steer your car the left and right to...steer left and right lol and the back arrow to reverse your car. Try and slow your car down when you get to corners because Cruisers happen to be very sharp on turns, which can slow you down. After you make it through your first lap it will say how many laops you have left and tell what part of the track you are on, they also tell you which toons are first second and third. You can also hit things during your race like turbo boost. You can also throw out gags to stun cars. After your final lap it will tell you who won and hopw many tickets every racer has gained!

Part 3: Tickets and acessories!

After you do a couple of races, you will gain enough tickets to buy a new car or accesories! There are a ton of things you can buy in the auto shop! Such as new hooda for your car new paint new wheels new side decals, just about anything! But you could buy a new car, The TUV is 2,00 tickets and the Roadster is 8,000 tickets so save up if you want a new car! After you decorate your new car, people are more able to notice it, it's also fun to match your clothes with your car! LOL!

Part 4: Cars in your estate!

After you purchase your first kart your nice clean estate turns into a junkyard poor doodles lol! When you click the "Go home" button in your shticker book, and once you get to your house before you walk in, look around your estate. Oh no! It's a junkyard! You will see Cruisers, Roadsters, and TUV's strung throughout your estate! Don't worry they aren't TOO old . But they don't do much, just sit there and look pretty.

Part 5: Scores and stats.

After you purchase your first car, you also get a new section in your shticker book! That's where you put all the acessories on your car. It also keeps track of how many tickets and trophies you have! But also in Goofy's Raceway, you will see a big sighn labeled with all of the different tracks throughout Goofy's Raceway. That's where you can find out the winner's of that specific race and there times!

Part 6: Trophies and Laffboosts

When you get placed in a rcae (as you know) You get a specific trophy and tickets. But after you get 5 trophies, you get a laffboost! By the amount of trophies, you can gain up to a 3 point laffboost which means for all of you 117 laffers, You'll have 120 laffpoints! But if you also get first place in an actual race, you get 1,00 tickets! So for those who want a Roadster, just win 1st place in eight races LOL.

Goofy's Speedway is a very fun place to hang out and race, but don't forget! The other playgrounds are JUST as fun!

Now my fingers hurt form all this typing.....ow.....lol.....

If this is true, then they really need to address the mess they are making of our estate with all the karts..lol. Last time I looked, I had over 20 karts on my estate and most of them didn't look anything like my karts..lol. I've found some under a house, beyound the fence, in the pond, and even on the mailbox.
