A guide to luring.

Hello, if you do not know or are not sure about lure, this is the guide for you.
As you all know, lure is a gag that bring's cogs close to you and make's it where the cogs can not attack for a limited time. But, this is to show you the rather more advanced things about lure.
Let's start off with...

Bad thing's about lure.
Well, we all know that you want to have lure, but these are the bad thing's about lure.

• Drop gag's Alway's miss on a lured cog, it is impossible for them to hit it.

• When you use sound on lured cogs you don't get extra points, nor will it kill a cog unless you use a team of sound. So when someone say's "Don't use sound on lured cogs." It is for the best.

• Take's longer when you are in a hurry.

Good thing's about lure.
Well, many I can say EVERYTHING is good about lure.

• Will save you so many time's you can't imagin, when you are low in laff, or good for strategies, lure is the way to go.

• You get extra points from lure, see DogFather's guide- Lure Bonus: Strategies for Achieving Lure Bonus

• And so many more...

The lure gag track.
In the lure gag track, there are seven gag's.
One dollar bill, Small magnet, Five dollar bill, Big magnet, Ten dollar bill, Hypno goggles, and last but DEFINITLY not least, The presentation.
Here is a picture of them...

The first two gag's aren't so great, and can be a pain to train, but we will get to that in a minute, first on to...

Good strategies.
Well, if you have it maxxed/up to big magnet, here are some good strategies....

Let's start off with...Level 10's, they have 132 life points, as you can see a maxed can can NOT kill it.
But, if it is lured, with the lure bonus, it will kill it, therefore, a cake will kill up to a level 10. To kill a lured level 11, it takes a cake and a cream pie slice.

For a V2.0 cog, (You shoudn't have to worry about this unless you know what they are and what they do.)
Say, a lured level 11 V2.0...
There are four people, one person lures, two people attack, one using cake and one using a cream pie, (Slice, but normally a Cream pie).
Then, in the same turn, the last person uses a piano.
So let's work this out shall we?
Lured cog.
Cake-Cream pie.
Cog go bye bye.
New cog comes up.
Since you chose a piano after the throw, the piano comes down on the V2.0 cog therefore, there is no more cog.

How to train lure gag's.
Well, say you just got lure. If you got it in DD, you are still new to the game, unless you are making a new toon, if you are new, try going to TTC and luring cogs, then attacking them. Remember to be in river. Have a extra experienced toon with you so that if a strong invasion-cog comes you can handle it.
Once you get a Small magnet, go into building's, be careful, make sure you have a experienced toon with you so that you don't get killed/from strong cogs from invasion's/so they can sound smally so you can lure. And get more points, Remember to do this in river, and to use your strong gag's on the fifth floor.

With a maxed cake and a maxed cream pie, a level 11 cog will be destroyed whether it's lured or unlured. The damage is (100 + 40) * 1.2, or 168. As long as two or more same-type gags (i.e. two throw gags, three squirt gags, four sound gags, etc.) hit for at least 130 points, the level 11 will be destroyed.

Also, lure doesn't always give a 50% damage bonus. It's always supposed to work on the streets, in HQ main areas, and in Boss battles. In Factories/Mints/etc., and in buildings, it's only guaranteed to work on specific cogs. There's a thread that details which is which.

I disagree about where to train lure, although it's a matter of indivudual preference. Lure should probably be trained up to level 4 (the blue magnet) on the streets, luring cogs that are about the same level as the lure being used.

I always choose lure early on... usually my 2nd gag choice. I preface with this because timing can affect what trees you have grown. I ALWAYS train lure planted for the first 3 gags... it lets you use them effectively in blds as it changes its accuracy from low to medium (DD, DG and MM are best as the lvl of cogs are significantly lower translating to even fewer misses). When I get the big magnet I will usually pull the lure trees so I can get my choice for lvl 7 gag track planted. I rush lure as much possible to get the big magnet (the first really usable lure gag). Then I can relax and let the goggles come as quick as they will.

I will add more to this guide, just tell me something you think should be added, and I will add it.
A special thank's to PCPF for giving me the idea of this thread, thanks!

That is the good part about this, I add other stuff.
Cause, of course I do not know everything.
(Though the cake and cream pie will kill a lured cog, it is just the fact it is lured.)

EDIT: And when did I ever say anythign about 50 percent?

I just checked, it is in the link to the Dawgfather's guide to lure bonus.

I said BIG RED letters!! [kidding] The only thing I have to say is train in Donald's Dock instead of Toontowncentral. This is because players are learning the jist of the game there. They may not know you are training your gags and cut you off. Pretty good otherwise

You can do both, but in TTC you will be with people with level 1 and 2 gags.
So you lure, they attack.
You lure again, they kill it.
But if you in DD you might have to wait, or even go said.
