Pros/Cons of Gag Track Choices Guide
I got bored, so I thought I would make a little guide to show the pros/cons of leaving out each gag track. Hopefully this will help people who make threads about what gag track they should choose.
Trapless
Being trapless is a very common choice, and for a good reason as well; being trapless is easy. By being trapless you can have all the basic necessities: healing, luring, and sound. You can easily help a Toon train their gags, and soloing is also much more manageable. Trap is also, for a lot of people, difficult to max and can take some time. Also Toons definitely won't turn you down in HQs and buildings, so you don't have to worry about people getting frustrated that you are missing an important gag track. (It happens, sometimes Toons will be rude and not want to go with you if you're missing, let's say, sound or toon-up) However, high level trap gags are very powerful, and if you're trapless you'll be missing out on gags that can cause some extreme damage. But overall, if you want to have a smooth road to maxing and avoid some problems, choose to be trapless!
Dropless
Dropless is the second most common choice; like being trapless, it is fairly easy. Dropless Toons can also enjoy having important gag tracks, and soloing or helping another Toon can be much more simple than if you choose to leave out a different track. Dropless Toons have access to trap which is highly powerful, and also have the gag tracks that most Toons believe are necessary. However, if you are with a lot of Toons who have drop, you may find yourself passing a lot if they choose to use drop and the cog you are fighting will be defeated if you use a gag. Drop gags are also highly powerful (if they don't miss, which they tend to do a lot) and the piano and safe can be very useful. But overall, dropless Toons have a great selection of gags and it is a good choice!
Toon-upless
Toonup-less Toons are fairly rare, but you will see a handful that have chosen to leave out the healing gag track. There are several pros and cons to being toon-upless, but let's start with the good things! Toon-upless Toons are very powerful since they have access to all the gag tracks that do damage. Sound, drop, trap... they got them all! Toon-upless Toons are a real asset in any Cog fight. Some Toons may go out of their way to avoid being with Toon-upless Toons in Cog HQs or buildings because of their lack of healing, but if you have a trained Doodle then it isn't much of a problem. After all, you can heal yourself as well! But here are the cons; Doodle training takes a long time and is very tedious, and you may find yourself not wanting to waste the time on training your Doodle. Also you will always find those Toons that don't want to go with you, which sometimes can make things difficult. Toon-upless Toons are also not suitable helping another Toon train their gags (if there was only you and one other Toon) because they are unable to heal if the other Toon is low on laff. And yes, there are more cons... if you happen to be in a Cog fight and everything goes wrong (lure misses, high level Cogs using attacks that hurt all Toons) you may find yourself in a situation where other Toons just can't toon-up enough to save the whole group! That of course can lead to going sad, but that is only in the worst possible scenario. Overall, if you are looking for a unique experience that pose some risks, choose to be toon-upless!
Lureless
Lureless Toons are in between with popularity; it isn't completely necessary to have lure since many other Toons do, but it is always helpful to have it. Lureless Toons are fairly easy if you are with 3 other Toons in a Cog fight, but if you are alone there are major setbacks. It is almost impossible for the average Toon to solo without lure, since they are unable to stop the Cogs from attacking. Also if you are trying to help another Toon train their gags, you might find it difficult to keep the Cogs from hitting the Toon you are trying to help, which could lead them to going sad. Lureless Toons aren't bad, however; they still are a great help in Cog fights. Lureless Toons are able to heal, and have access to the three damage dealers which makes them highly useful! And of course, there are SOS cards you can use to lure in worst case scenarios. Toons also usually will not complain if there is a lureless Toon. (At least I haven't has anyone complain to me about my choice yet!) Also, low level lure gags are a pain to train and some people would rather not have to go through all that missing in Cog fights. So if you'd rather not solo and want a fairly easy choice, go with being lureless!
Soundless
Soundless Toons, like toon-upless Toons, are rare and you may only see a few of them. And this is because of one simple reason; Toons constantly use sound! Buildings, Cog HQs... especially Cog HQs. Some Toons prefer to sound the whole way through factories/mints/offices if they can, and for a soundless Toon this will definitely pose a problem. You will not be able to help the team, and for this reason many Toons do not enjoy to go with soundless Toons into Cog HQs. It sure does slow things down, and Toons who are impatient and want to max an HQ quickly usually will not go with a soundless Toon. However this doesn't mean that you should consider being soundless! Most soundless Toons find it easy to max their gags because they aren't constantly sounding through every single Cog fight. Also many people don't enjoy using sound so much and want to use a wide variety of gags. And it isn't impossible to max a soundless Toon! You just need to be with the right people who don't mind that you have chosen not to have the sound gag track. Going with friends is always a good thing to do so you can avoid any griefing done by Toons who disapprove of your choice. Overall if you like using a wide variety of gags and if you have friends to back you up, choose to be soundless!
I hope this guide helps anyone who is unsure of what to choose. Feedback would be great; if you have anything that I should add in, please tell me and I'll edit the guide!
