Fishing Question

I've been playing tt for awhile but haven't fished in any organized manner. However, I managed to get about 45-46 fish.

I finally decided to go about fishing in a more organized manner and printed The "Matt Wild Horse" Fishing Guide, which is excellent.

I started from the beginning of the guide and got a few fish I was missing, bringing my total up to 56.

I'm working on the "Old King Crab" now. I've fished 11 buckets. According to the fishing guide, this fish appears every 50 buckets.

Since I've fished 11 buckets on Lighthouse Lane in Donald's Dock (in pretty much the same district), can I safety assume that in another 39 buckets I should catch the "Old King Crab"?

What if I don't catch it in approximately 50 buckets? Should I just keep trying or move on to the next fish I need (according to the fishing guide)? The guide says to follow it in order so I assume I should just keep on trying on Lighthouse Lane but it might get discouraging if I don't catch it in 50 buckets.

The guide says 50 + or - 50, correct? Which means you should catch it within 2,000 fish. If you do not, then you are having bad luck. It's never certain when you will catch a certain fish.

If you don't catch it within the amount of buckets that you choose or recommended by Matt, then you can move on and return later or continue.

UMMMMM, I hate to tell ya this, but my fishing uber fished for 2 days (approx. 200 buckets) before catching the Old King Crab. I even checked several times to make sure I was on the right street!!! I've never had that fish take so long to get. I just hope the next few ultra's aren't as picky. LOL

I found it's best to catch those pesky very rares and rares before you upgrade to a Hardwood Rod. As for some reason as you go higher up in rods, it becomes harder to catch them. On all 3 of my toons that I've played on open, it took me no more than 15 buckets to catch the OKC.

I don't know if keeping a smaller rod really helps. I was on the bamboo rod when I was after the OKC.

Ive caught the okc on several different toons, i never had a problem catching him but you should know that some fish come alot easier than others and if i could pick a fish to give me problems i wouldn't mind it being okc

I procrastinated on fishing for a lonnnnggg time!

But I continued buying fishing rods.

Fishes 48-62 were fished with gold rod and within two weeks of fairly casual fishing...
